Nice bar/pub on "The Plaza" in Ashland,Oregon. Nice atmosphere and very good pub food. My friend had a hamburger and I had fish and chips. Our drinks were very good as well

Came here after a nice day in Ashland with my girlfriends. Such an amazing place! We came for A drink and ended up getting three . I tried their Painkiller and when I say it was the most delicious one I've ever had, you can believe me. It just so happened that it was a live music night. We had the best time! We will definitely be back!

Great drinks in a fantastic environment! One of the best places to get a crafted cocktail in town. The business claims to have the largest whiskey selection between Portland and San Francisco but also has a strong rum and tequila selection. I recommend the patio in particular out back if the weather is nice. We enjoyed tiki drinks (painkiller, mai tai) and cocktail classics, which all were beautifully presented and on point. The food sounded delicious but we ate elsewhere on this pub crawl. Staff took their time on making cocktails from scratch but it's worth being patient.

I mean...look at that whiskey selection...!

A quick 2023 update. The whiskey selection is just crazy. If you are a Scotch or Bourbon hound, this is the place for you. I'm not sure I've seen a better selection, and this is right here in Southern Oregon. The bartenders are excellent here, and are super friendly. I know some of them have been here a really long time and know the local people as well as the cocktails.

Absolutely love! My partner and I were looking for a good place to go for our date night and Oberons was the perfect match. The atmosphere was very welcoming and cozy and it was all around a fantastic experience. Food: incredible!! From appetizer to dessert it was all worth it! We started with the warm Brie which was to die for. Main dish we had the Shepards pie and the Harvest salad. It's important to note that their "full" size salad is massive, so take that into consideration if you want something smaller. The dessert was the molten lava chocolate cake which was topped with whipped cream and caramel. Every last bite was amazing Drinks: while we didn't order drinks tonight their menu looked incredible! Service: absolute gems! All of them were sweet and friendly and all the dishes came out very quickly Price: not bad compared to the area! Especially for the portion size it's hard to complain

Oberon's has got a really cool, laid-back vibe.  It's all done in the mode of an English pub from back in the Bard's day, and the overall effect will make you feel like you're not all that far from Stratford-upon-Avon ;-) The service here is great, and the menu is as well.  It's tough to go wrong with whatever you might choose to order. Tip: If you're not fond of eating meat (or even if you are) there's a very tasty mushroom pie on the menu that I'd recommend :-) When last I was here, I tried the Shepard's Pie and was quite impressed!  They use an excellent cut of beef in the pie, which loans just the right amount of richness to the dish.

I couldn't wait to try this place and it exceeded my expectations. You feel like you've stepped into a Midsummer Night's Dream the minute you enter. Bonus: dog friendly patio seating outside by the creek. Drinks are top notch. My fav the Obe's Manhattan also with an extensive global whiskey list. Food is delicious we highly recommend the sausage platter. Staff goes above and beyond and live music is an added plus. Can't wait to come back.

Having scouted things out on Google Maps beforehand, Oberon's was first among my list of places I wanted to visit upon arriving in Ashland, and thus it was our first stop after checking in to our hotel and dropping off our luggage. Everything about its interior aesthetic was what I wanted to see in this Shakespearean-influenced town, and their healthy selection of various Old Fashioneds had furthered my interest in patronizing this pub. Thus, on our midsummer afternoon's visit, we were greeted warmly upon entry, told to grab any available table, and order at the bar when we were ready. We did so, and between us, settled on a Beeswax Old Fashioned for myself, a Midsummer Night's Tea for my wife, and a Caprese Grilled Cheese to split between us. Unfortunately, this is when Puck's mischievousness began to manifest. At the bar, I ordered my drink, and then my wife's tea, only to be informed that they were out of that particular blend. Returning to our table, my wife pivoted and ordered the Love tea instead. Back at the bar, I updated our order, and tacked on the grilled cheese, only to learn that they were also out of mozzarella. They could substitute cheddar in its place, but that's not exactly a Caprese sandwich anymore, is it? Disappointed, we stuck with just the drinks. Still, our drinks were nothing to turn up our noses about. The Beeswax Old Fashioned was just sweet enough to take the edge off the whiskey, and was a nice change from the standard orange aroma and flavor. And Love (both the drink, and the emotion) would be welcome at any tea party or wedding. Queen Titania would approve of its pleasing blend of sweet, herbal and fruity notes! Minus the two mentioned disappointments, our time at Oberon's was close to magical. The interior décor is both rustic and romantic, good for plebes, patricians, publicans and playwrights alike! Oberon simply needs to kick out the troublesome satyr messing things up in the kitchen (he's apparently eating and drinking all the vittles!), to elevate this otherwise exemplary tavern to a level of performance worthy of a standing ovation.

Gyasi Silas was super helpful. The drinks were absolutely amazing. Give that bro a raise. Mai tai and passion fruit daiquiri.

My husband and I agree that we are unsure how we slept on Oberons for so long! My parents come for cocktails and sausages all the time and we have never caught on until a couple weeks back when my parents invited us along and... oh my word.. obsessed!!!! We had the sausage platter, the baked Brie and the bacon flat bread.. all of them were cooked to perfection and delicious! The REAL star of the show are their cocktails! Every single one we have tried over our last few visits have been wonderful - my personal favorite is the Passionfruit Mai Tai! Others that we have had and loved are the Really Good Old Fashioned, Lavendar Drop, Really Good Negroni and regular mai tai! If it's warm out, they have beautiful outdoor seating on the river walk area .. and if you prefer to be indoors, there are lots of different seating options in their eclectic and cozy building!

A happy hour menu was posted in the window-from 4-5pm every day of the week. We got in during happy hour and were able to score one of the few outdoor creekside tables. It was super pleasant to be able to sit outside and hear the creek while eating delicious food. Ordered the house made blackberry soda-pretty good. Also had the happy hour fried chicken and hh burger, as well as the scallops off of the main menu. The burger was thick and juicy. My kids and husband said the fries were some of the best they've had-crispy exterior and soft interior. Fried chicken had a light crispy coating on the outside and the honey Aleppo mixture was great, though son said it could've used a little more salt. My scallops were some of the best scallops I've ever had before--so well cooked and perfectly seasoned and with these thinly sliced snap peas that were just barely blanched that added texture and freshness to the dish. For dessert I had the olive oil cake with fresh berries--so delicious and perfect way to top off the meal. Service was pretty good. Would def be back!

As a chef at two James Beard-winning restaurants, a server, owner, and consultant, I have dedicated my life to the food industry and the people within it. I'm from Ashland, and I was so happy when places like this started showing up in my hometown. Good food and atmosphere can be so hard to find. Coming home to Ashland can be a true oasis for my family. My wife and I have made it our life's mission to make our daughter feel equal and included. Our daughter was born with a rare condition called AMC and does not have normal function in any of her limbs. She currently spends 3-4 days a week in physical therapy to continue building strength so her body and organs can function properly. We were visiting family at the park and suggested stopping in for a beverage and snacks to escape the heat after a long day. We typically plan everything ahead to ensure wherever we go can accommodate my daughter's wheelchair and needs. When we arrived, we thought, "Wow, perfect, she can wheel right in and up to one of the many open tables." Once we were "greeted" by the host, I realized we were not who she wanted to deal with. Three kids, three adults, a stroller, and a wheelchair. She looked like she wanted nothing to do with us, like we were dirt on her shoe. "No reservation," she said. I replied, "Yeah, so sorry, we figured since it was a Monday night right when you opened, and there were only two two-tops seated, we could probably find somewhere to sit." I reassured her we would not stay long enough to impact reservations at the larger front tables, which usually have reserved markers on them but did not at the time. We could all feel that she didn't want to seat us, and we left despite me practically begging to make something work for us, because I know she could have if she wanted to. Being from the industry, I understand what kids can do to an atmosphere, and I know a lot of restaurant workers don't enjoy dealing with other people's children. But when we went outside and my daughter cried and said, "They didn't want me there" So I loaded my daughter's wheelchair back into the car so I could carry her up the stairs at Brickroom, where one employee was working the entire place and took amazing care of us, I might add. We resorted to a booster seat for my daughter since she couldn't use her wheelchair there. She ended up falling out of the seat and slamming onto the hardwood floor. She cried and was embarrassed. The young man tending bar while also waiting every table rushed over with a bag of ice to comfort her. It was honestly touching how kind he was. When we left Brickroom, we had spent more time there than we originally intended to spend at Bar Juliet. As we walked back by Bar Juliet, we noticed the restaurant was still only about half full, and one of the large front tables had remained open the entire time from around 4:10 until 5:40 when we walked by again. I had to stop and ask the host why she couldn't have seated us considering that table never filled. Her only explanation was, "Our kitchen is slow getting food out." Such an incredibly weak excuse. I hope she understands she was wrong and that she made my daughter feel unwanted simply because accommodating us wasn't convenient for her. I have never left a review in my life, but I was so saddened and disgusted by this experience that I felt I had to.

The service is good, we've been there with our family and with a large group, and they have always been very patient and friendly. Alchemy is in my top 3 favorite places for a dressy dinner when we are visiting Ashland. The only slightly negative thing I have to say is that we were there celebrating a birthday once and at the end of the meal our server brought out a candle on a small, flat ceramic dish. The birthday girl's comment was, "You just spent $300 on dinner and all they brought me for my birthday was a candle?" It seemed a little chintzy since most places will give you an actual dessert, not just a candle, but at least they brought a candle. Other than that tiny little thing, we still love to eat here and will be back when visiting in the future.

The latter changes seasonally--in our case it was a dashi broth with a variety of local mushrooms and vegetables. Both dishes were good, with my steak cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes amazingly creamy without tasting too buttery; the dashi broth was delicious as well. We also split the steak tartare, the house bread, and the chips & dip (seasonal special) as appetizers. With the exception of the chips & dip, the appetizers were good but nothing outstanding. The chips & dip, however, were REALLY GOOD! I did not know you could elevate potato chips like that, but their house-made chips are delicious and I would highly recommend trying them. Both my fiancé and I were not a huge fan of the sauce (just a little too creamy, it's really smooth though so if you like creamy sauces you'll probably enjoy it!), but just eating the plain chips was amazing. They even brought us a second serving of chips for free since we hadn't used all of the dip! We also ordered a pear tart for dessert which I would also recommend getting! Delicious crust and good pear flavor.

We showed up at 5 and were greeted by the same fabulous woman as last time. You just know that someone that kind and welcoming would not own a place she wasn't rightfully proud of. She sets the tone and all the employees carry it through the entire meal. We chose to try the patio tonight and it was cozy yet open, darker with a couple of fire lights around the room. Intimate. Some of the tables are separated by live plants in planter boxes. We loved it. We started with the beets (with shaved fennel pieces and a citrus vinaigrette with a tahini yogurt sauce on the bottom) and burrata (with grilled pieces of bread and sugar snap peas and capers) appetizers - both were delicious. Randy wanted to try another of their off menu drinks. We can't remember what this drink is called but it's not on the menu and has some Mai tai mix and orange bitters ... like a mock Mai tai spritzer. Delicious - Randy had two! I got the mushroom bolognese - so good. It's home made (!) bucatini pasta with a mushroom (cremini, oyster and shiitake) and san Marzano tomato sauce with burrata on top. I love mushrooms but Randy does not and he loved this dish. The mushrooms taste meaty. Randy ordered the Carbonara again and it was also delicious. We also got an order of garlic bread this time and wow. We each have half of our dinners left, lucky us. We shared the creme brûlée which came with a lavender short bread cookie. Perfect. Everything was perfect. The place was packed and all employees were calm and efficient and friendly. Can't wait to go back!
