Truly disappointed in these folks…read more I called to inquire about a move and they said they would come on Friday. Then they said, "No, maybe Saturday." So, I said, "Let's make it Saturday then." On Friday, at 4:30 PM, I get a call asking if they can come in a short while. I stated that, since we had agreed on Saturday, I had already made plans and was not home. "OK, so we'll do it on Saturday. But we can just do it on FaceTime. (??? not even interested in seeing firsthand???) I'll call you between 1 and 2pm, but if you don't hear from me, give me a call." What kind of business asks a potential customer to give them a call if they forget to call you? Needless to say, I never heard from them between 1 and 2pm. However, at 3:30pm I get a phone call and I stated that they were not making a good 1st impression for the reasons cited above. I was going to say, "I'll give you one last chance." However, before making my comment, and rather than apologizing or saying, "OK, let's start again," I was met with, "OK, so you know what, I guess we don't do your move." (With that response, I guess you don't.) There was no attempt to make things right. I was in sales for 20 years. This is not how you treat a potential client. Given their ratings, I had high hopes. However, given this track record, I was left with very little confidence and assurance that they would show up when they said they would and/or honor I their commitments.

I called this morning to verify the arrival time and see if he could narrow it down because I was juggling a bunch of things and he threatened to cancel my move. Completely unprofessional Juan and his assistant however were awesome. They packed everything very well, worked hard and quickly and just did a great job. Packed my storage unit perfectly. If you can get Juan on his own and leave Paul out of the equation you have a great mover!

There are lots of small moving companies which advertise in our area, so how does one find a reliable, cost effective company. And reliability is critical, especially in our South Florida paradise, where so many small businesses seem to blow you off, if they feel like doing so. So, when purchasing packing supplies at Boca Box on Dixie Highway in East Boca (see Yelp listing and reviews), I asked Bill, the owner, for a recommendation. Bill is a straight-up guy, and never recommends anything or anyone if he hasn't tried the product or service, and can vouch for it. Bill indicated that he had recommended ICON to several people, and no one had complained. Hmm, I still had my concerns. Well, I was under the gun, I had to have a move completed by month end (in 3 days), and the logistics of getting one apartment packed up and moved, and the receiving apartment cleared out to receive the furniture was daunting, even for a fierce guy like myself. I called ICON, and the owner SAM answered, and after explaining my time crunch, he arranged the move for Sunday 9 AM, just 2 days away. I kept asking him if he was certain his guys would show up (guys working Sunday morning in South Florida? Really?), and he reassured me that they would. I felt better after he explained the costs associated with the move, the services he would provide, and when I received both a text and email with a proposal delineated in less than 5 minutes after we spoke, I was sold. The move could not have gone smoother. The crew of 3 guys actually showed up 15 minutes early, after calling 30 minutes before arrival to confirm that they were on the way (how many times have you heard "on the way", and no one shows for another 2 hours?) They used shrink wrap to protect all furniture, padded blankets when needed, and carefully moved large framed artwork. [See all my pics] One guy was responsible for taking apart the queen sized bed frame, and wrapping the mattress and box spring in special protective bags. They clearly were in sync with each other, and did not miss a beat. They were using some real muscle and didn't seem to be phased by the 95 degree heat and humidly. At the receiving end, they efficiently placed the furniture in the designated rooms, set up the headboard and frame, mattress and boxspring, and removed any waste. SAM, ICON's owner, showed up toward the end, to do a personal walk-through and inspection to ensure that everything was acceptable to me. His final price was actually lower than his estimate, and I could not have been happier. If you ever need a small professional moving company, and if you are also in a time crunch, look no further than this locally owned company. If your experience is like mine, you'll be pleased and unstressed.

They wrapped and taped everything and worked non stop. Everything was put back without a scratch. Even an electric fireplace. They never taped or wrapped the wires to all my electronics and devices to the appliances, so I had to spend hours looking for the wires. They did not unpack me or put-up pictures as they said they would do, and then wanted more money to do that!! I had to pay someone to come in and help me unpack. It was a disaster! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR THINGS AND YOUR TIME!!!

They were so quick and efficient. Everything was packed up and moved to the new location where they moved everything into its proper place. They even ask me if we had a dust ruffle! They were so nice to put that on for us.Wow! I almost forgot about that! It's usually my husband picking up the mattress long after movers have gone. Joe gave a good price for the move too. We will definitely use them again!
