What really surprised me is that I was told J Wilson's restaurant is same owner? I arrived around 230pm on a Monday which at that time it was basically empty. I was really hungry so when they sat me by the bar I didn't change seating. Matt the server came over and asked what I was drinking. No hello, no welcome to JW Patio, no have you dined here before...no introduction...just what are you drinking. I wish I had a photo of the look on his face when I said "water" it was a look of disappointment which spoke volumes. Although I had time to look at the menu and was ready to order he quickly spun around and began to walk away. I called him back and ordered a roasted butternut squash soup...he was gone again. The squash soup came out warm, not hot! Hungry and not wanting to complain I ate it quickly. He never came back to ask how was the soup. I summoned him again and ordered a blackened Chicken pasta dish. About 40 minutes passed, I was not updated on my meal so I called Matt H. again. His claim was that the restaurant received a huge togo order and my meal would come out shortly! If that were true then my chicken pasta should come out piping hot! Guess what? No it was not hot, just warm and some parts actually room temperature. I took two bites which confirmed the plate sat for a while. Rather than wait for it to be reheated I asked for a to go box and a check! I told Matt the food was not served hot and he began to say differently! He got my pasta comped and no sorry or apology. I just had dinner with my daughter & hubs. It was delicious. I don't eat lamb because it's often gamey. But I tried some of my husbands lamb shank with polenta. We ended up sharing his plate ! It fell off the bone it was so tender and it had no game flavor whatsoever. When he ordered he asked for a cup of cajun seasoning to sprinkle on the polenta because we both love Cajun pasta. The waiter told us it has plenty of flavor to try it first. He was definitely right. The plate was perfect & I would come back & order the same or now even try the lamb burgers. Our daughter had the flat iron steak & yellow potato's. The steak could have used a little more seasoning or flavor. But I have to brag on her roasted potatoes They were delicious. A good new resturant in Beaumont. We went here for dinner and brunch. Dinner was okay, but the selection seemed a little light and leaves a little to be desired . The main dishes appeared to be different grain bowls thst you could add meat skewers to. Hopefully there will be more dishes added in the future. We had baklava for dessert and that was delicious. We stumbled upon this place one after looking for lunch. To try something different I had the Buddha bowl. Butternut squash, quinoa, fennel, cabbage, sunflower, avocado , ....all served warm. This was a savory dish that hit the spot. Plenty to eat - I took 1/2 back home with more. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. With a full bar - grab ya a drink and sit back and enjoy.
