The owner is extremely reactionary and super defensive: He publicly called out a patron on Facebook that did nothing wrong even by his own definitions of his own rule. The fella he kicked out and then called out on social media is a well known musician, who is 21 years sober. He was kicked out for making a phone call in front of the bar. The bar has a very unclear policy of who is allowed to leave and come back due to fear of people drinking or smoking pot in their cars. Anyway numerous people came to this musicians defense naturally as he is a well liked and love person due to his altruistic, philanthropic and overall kind nature, all of these people have been blocked from the Soggy Bottom page and the subsequent post of course unable to create dialogue of any kind. After 30 years of touring and playing in bars the only thing I can tell you is the ones that last are always due to a key person factor. Raving on Facebook then blocking people and having NUMEROUS strict and extremely unclear rules do not forecast such a promising future for this establishment. If the rules are so clear why is this fella (from his own post) "kicking out 6 people just last night"... If they don't serve any alcohol and don't like alcohol, then why are certain proof drinks not served after 1am? I don't know... I'm just saying the clubs OWN post/poster/owner made it obvious he's a fairly petty guy, extremely confusing with all his rules that sometimes are enforced and sometimes not and ANY club actually in the right would NEVER bother airing dirty laundry on Facebook. read more

I recently had the misfortune of visiting this dive bar that can only be described as a complete nightmare. From the moment I walked in, I could sense an air of hostility and tension that made me question why I even decided to step foot inside. Little did I know that the owner of this establishment had a reputation for picking fights with his own customers. The owner, who clearly has anger management issues, seemed to take pleasure in starting confrontations with unsuspecting patrons. It was as if he was on a mission to ruin everyone's night. His aggressive and confrontational behavior created an uncomfortable and unsafe environment for everyone present. Not only did this owner enjoy picking fights, but he also seemed to revel in the chaos and drama that ensued. Instead of diffusing tense situations, he would escalate them, acting as if he was some sort of bouncer or enforcer. It was clear that his primary objective was to intimidate and bully his customers, rather than provide a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. The overall ambiance of the dive bar was equally disappointing. The place was run-down, dirty, and had a distinct odor that made it difficult to even breathe. The lack of cleanliness and proper maintenance only added to the overall unpleasant experience In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering visiting this dive bar to steer clear. The owner's penchant for picking fights and creating a hostile environment is simply unacceptable. Save yourself the trouble and find a bar that prioritizes customer satisfaction and safety. Great place. Friendliest stayou could ever hope for. Absolutely one of the best places I've been to. I'm from out of town and just tried this place on a whim. Loved it. Angel, Amber , and Bobby made me feel like I was a part of the family. All the locals just came right up and introduced themselves. On weekends live music karaoke and just a good ole time. My favorite local bar! Established originally in 1946! Dad and son owned and operated. Live bands show up and play. Friendly guy can be found by the car almost every night. After a couple beers you're bound to meet and make friends. read more

They really dont know or what they are doing. We were told there was karaoke outside when the comedy show was still going. Comedy wasn't good. But we found out that that karaoke wasn't until the wrestling was going on. But no understanding or confusion what was going on when. Oh was threaten by the bar back that turned out to be the owner just because I wanted to know the right line to be served by the bartender. Owner you are rude and I will never go back. Soggy Bottom is the hidden gym bar of Beaumont. I heard Morgan got kicked out for puking on the bar so take her review lightly. This saloon is family owned and operated and you're always greeted by the owner. Great staff, cheap drinks, and quality entertainment. They have live bands, pool/poker tournaments and often put on holiday events/parties. You're guaranteed to have a kick ass time! read more
