We live up near Akron, and before recently, we had never known about this beautiful farm. Fall Festival was so much fun - perfect for our 1 year old and I'd imagine fun all the way thru school agers. Corn pits, short corn mazes, friendly farm animals, slides and playgrounds, and activity areas galore made our little one's day. He loved seeing the resident rabbit hopping around the farm. Beautiful decor, treats, and gifts were inside the temperature controlled barn near an outdoor pumpkin store and even a small area for the littlest ones to pick their favorite tiny pumpkin. We brought friends for Christmas on the Farm, and everyone had a great time. We werent sure what to expect, but everything was organized and done really nicely while keeping a good pace. We started out with ice skating in the main admissions barn, followed by decorating cookies in Mrs. Claus' barn. She gave us lots of time as our 6, 4, and 2 year olds iced cookies, telling us about different things, reading stories, and engaging the kids. Next, we ended up in Santa's barn which was nicely decorated to look authentic. He told the older kids some fun tricks while slowly warming up my cautious two year old. Before long, he had gotten my son's attention by giving him fives and my son was in his arms at his tool bench helping him build a project with a toy hammer. SC spent a lot of time with our children which was a special bonus, and afterwards they got to participate in an "indoor snowball fight" and make reindeer food amongst other crafts. On our way back to the main barn, we picked up the fresh, hot cocoa and cider included in our admissions. We will be back to Nickajack for future events especially in the fall and at Christmas. The Christmas event just blew us away, especially for only $12 admission. If you're looking for fun for the younger set in the fall or an absolutely magical (or convincing) visit from Santa, look no further.

This place didn't come up on google search and was actually recommended by another equestrian place. They promptly responded and confirmed a time for my friend and I the day before our ride. For only thirty dollars a person, we had an hour-long instructor-led trail ride. It was an eighty something degree day and I worried that we'd be baking, but thankfully, the trail had ample trees for shading. Instructors were very pleasant and knowledgeable. I'm even considering taking my 10-yr-old son for a lesson or trail ride. Highly recommended!

So... yeah.... no horse but she did get a card from Santa with riding lessons at Larry's Stables, and some how she patiently waited to April!! Debby did a great job, was very patient and an excellent teacher. Our girl had ridden a couple other times, but never completely on her own. When we arrived there was a very friendly atmosphere and many cute animals playing in the yard to watch while you waited. We then signed in and they gave us a quick walkthrough and we were on our way. The ride was about an hour and a half throughout their beautiful property. There was one other party with us, and through the whole ride the hosts were talking to us making you feel very at home.
