Ladies, Beware! Went there to take a Swedish massage. I had a Groupon. As the lady named Yo yo started giving me a massage, just a minute after that someone came to their reception. This lady ran out of the room to attend that person(male). Then she came back to me and started insisting me to wait for 1 hour Because she wants to give a massage to that other person. As our conversation was going on that person came and simply opened our room door without knocking . Again that lady ran to the door and started talking to that person . By the time I was not in a mood of taking a massage anymore because of that uncomfortable environment. That lady shooed that person somewhere and started apologizing repeatedly. That overall seen became so horrible! Long story short. I had to take my Groupon amount back in cash. After a struggle of 30 mins. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. read more

I'll start with props because my massage therapist did work out my knots and helped relieve the tension I had built up from the past few month. She had great pressure and really did help my shoulder issues. But, that wasn't worth how uncomfortable I felt in the process. My therapist began with some light conversation, I figured just to ease into the process. I was wrong. We carried on the conversation throughout my hour long session. I'm happy to shoot the breeze, but not during a massage when I just want to relax. She continually walked back and forth from me to a station with lotion and warm towels. Each trip was somewhat extended and she never covered me with a sheet so I felt very awkward and exposed, especially since a man (her supervisor I assume) continued to open the door and converse with her throughout our session. Though I'm sure I wasn't, my mind started questioning if I was being watched the whole time making me feel very nervous and uncomfortable. As she worked, she tried giving me weight loss and skin advice. I'm a very body conscious person, and these "helpful" tips felt as though she was hinting toward something. It didn't help that most of my body was exposed during this and I was feeling so ashamed of appearing to need tips. Toward the end of the session, my therapist informed me that I would owe her a $20 tip when I checked out. This was while she was massaging my neck and making eye contact with me. When I was checking out, I was informed that they do not take visa - a fact that had not been posted on their website or at the counter. I tried this place based on all the positive reviews I read on Yelp, but $80 + tip was completely wasted as I spend the whole hour wishing it was over. I may have had an unpolished therapist, or come at a bad time, but the experience was so uncomfortable and embarrassing that I will not be back and would warn against others going. read more

Awful experience today on 5/28. I scheduled a Swedish massage with a Groupon I purchased. She did not seem to know how to properly perform a Swedish massage. The knots that I had were not taken care of. Instead of helping me I felt more pain in my shoulder blade area. I told her and she did take care of that area once I said something. However, after I said something she became more forceful towards more lower extremities after she finished my back which became very painful. I will not come back to this place. read more

Amazing Massage! My back was full of knots and kinks from carrying and rocking my baby boy. I feel amazing after their 60 minute Swedish massage. My husband bought a Groupon and booked me an appointment. The massage room is large, clean, well kept and has perfect lighting (not too bright and not too dark). The massage itself was heavenly. The masseuse used the perfect amount of pressure and checked to make sure I was comfortable. My shoulders and upper back got the extra attention they desperately needed and I felt wonderful at the end. read more

Lol. I laid there awkwardly for 20 mins. Lady comes in starts massaging me super half ass, felt like the first massage she's ever given in her life. Answered her cell phone during my massage and proceeded to chat on her phone for about 10 mins while massaging me. She then stops massaging me and walks out of the room completely. read more

I went here twice with Groupon. One for reflexology and one for Body massage. I went for reflexology with my mom and we were put in a clean nice room, two females greeted us nicely and started with the foot massage. The lady who massaged my foot was good but the lady who massaged by Mom's foot was just OK. I still felt nice with the service so I came back for a body massage with my partner. The body massage itself was overall fine but sadly I got the lady who did reflexology for my mom and she was strictly OK. My partner liked the massage done by the other lady. Now what I didn't like is that both of them were talking while massaging and there was constant noise of running tap water in the room which I am not sure why was it necessary for them to play with the water. No one massaged the front side of the body. I have been to other SPA places and never experienced or remember not getting massaged on the front side of the leg, hand and neck. I think I will pass this SPA. They are strictly OK. read more

My husband booked a couples massage for us - which was a really nice surprise; unfamiliar with JY Spa and knowing we had a lot of choices in the area we were a bit apprehensive to go someplace new but we were both so happy with our decision. The spa is small, cozy and intimate which we both really liked - no big bells and whistles and no push to oversell us additional services or products which we both really really appreciated. Even though, we did not have a Groupon - they gave us the Groupon cost. An amazing value!! The most important part was the massage which we both said was definitely one of the best we have ever had! The overall experience was wonderful - my husband and I are so glad we kept our appointment - we happily recommend JY Spa and look forward to going again! read more

The experience yesterday was simply Horrible! I purchased a Groupon, the massage person was very angry when entering the room and kept saying this Groupon may not be for this place. The other massage person kept coming in without knocking the door during the first 25 minutes and they both tried to figure out how to redeem the Groupon when massaging me. The person who performed my massage didn't even start with balance but started to roll my right side towards left. When told her to feel unbalanced alignment, I got off and walked. Towards the end, I mentioned my concern, she said to call Police which to my surprise why? Then the other one came in and trying to assess the situation, the person who massages me stormed out and brought her phone back and wanted to take a picture of my naked body and back as a proof without even asking permission. Told her to stop as not sure why she needs a proof either. I walked out feeling very unbalanced and not in alignment. The whole process the person speaking very loud in Chinese. Totally there is no Zen here. Also, when I was explaining to the other massage person, she collected garbage in the room then with dirty hands wanted to touch me again to continue the massage. Totally don't know how they got their license to operate in Westport Connecticut! I will write to the better business bureau. read more

This was far and away the worst massage I have ever received. The appointment started on a bad note when they took me 20 minutes late. I mentioned something to the guy taking me back, and he just looked at me with a blank stare. On the massage table, it felt like he literally had no idea what he was doing. Rubbing my back in circles, not pressing down hard enough. The worst part was when he was "massaging" my lower back and his hands kept wandering dangerously close to my bottom. The way he grabbed my sides was so uncomfortable. About 20 minutes into it, he asked me to roll onto my back. At this point I assumed there would be something placed over my eyes -- a towel, a mask, anything -- as usually happens in a spa. Nothing. I sat there watching him and to say it was awkward is an understatement. Another 10 minutes passed by and then he started opening and closing the room speaking to someone else out in the hallway. It was incredibly unprofessional. The icing on the cake was when he actually swapped places with another person so she could finish massaging my feet. The massage she gave me was one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life as she slid her fingers individually between my toes. It was so awkward that I asked her to stop so I could leave early. She clearly did not understand English very well because she looked at me confused and offered to work a little faster instead. When I was finally able to get dressed and leave, I knew I had to pay a difference for what I had received versus what I had paid for via Groupon. I owed $10, and went to pay with a $20 (all I had on me). There was pretty much no chance that I was going to tip, and I certainly was not about to tip this woman who had only spent 10 minutes violating my feet. When I asked for change, she said, "Oh $10 tip, thank you!" I was revolted and shocked that I was put in this INCREDIBLY uncomfortable situation. I left as soon as I could. Will not be returning and would actively warn people from visiting this "spa". read more

The Swedish massage was less than mediocre then half way into the session she answered the phone! This ruined the experience for me even more. She continued talking to the caller explaining she was busy and does not have any appointments and to call back later or call tomorrow. This was Sunday afternoon at 3. If she knows she not taking any customers for rest of the day then she shouldn't answered the phone and let it go into voicemail. I have had massages before and this is the first time a masseuse answers the phone during a session. This was very unprofessional. Will not come back! read more

My husband bought me a Groupon for here last year, and it expired before I could use it. I went yesterday anyway, and they cut me a good deal on a massage, which was fantastic. I liked it so much that I added on a half hour of reflexology at the end (also cut me a deal on adding that on). It was a very relaxing experience. read more
