We were able to limp the last 42 miles to our hotel at 40 miles an hour. We checked tire and auto repair near our hotel while limping in and Babb's popped up and was very close to hotel. Made appointment for 8:30 the following morning. Got there on time, spoke with the folks at the counter and the owner came out. Said he would take care of it himself. Within a 1/2 hour he had the spare on and the damage tire mounted underneath and ready to go. Went in to pay and what a blessing, he would not take anything for the work. Such wonderful folks we met and what a Godly thing to do for us. We wish them all that God would repay their generosity to us ten fold. Thanks to Babb's, we were on our way to our next campsite on time.

I left a message at Kyles shop - he returned my call promptly. I had my car towed to his shop, he fixed it within 24 hours. He kept me informed of his progress. I even had him to change my oil while it was there. I highly recommend Kyle. He was professional and very reasonably priced for his services! I pulled into Tuscaloosa after the 500 mile trip from St. Louis to drop off my daughter at University of Alabama. in the last 5 miles of the trip, there was a VERY disturbing bounce/shimmy to our 12 year old van. We'd asked for suggestions in my wife's facebook Bama parent groups, and Henry's was the name that kept coming up. We were prepared to make the decision between whatever it took to fix the van vs. renting a vehicle for the ride home vs. having to buy a new vehicle while in town for the weekend. We went to Henry's (without an appointment) first thing in the morning. We were one of three cars waiting to drop off before the doors opened. Henry's apparently a popular guy. When it was our turn to speak with the administrator, who was nice as could be, we explained our out of town plight and concern for the next 500 mile drive ... meanwhile one of the workers was behind her, looking through some paperwork while hearing our concerns. He took us right out to the lot, looked around the van, got in, and took it for a test drive. He came back, asked us about 5-10 minutes worth of questions about service history and general use of the vehicle. He made one more lap around the van and announced he knew our problem. Dry rot in one of the tires. He wasn't going to fix our car. Not that he couldn't, but he doesn't do tires, only mechanical work. This guy could very easily have taken us for A LOT of money, made up some issue that didn't exist, go himself to the used tire dealer a quarter mile away that he ended up sending US to, where we got the fix we needed for less than $100. Instead, this mechanic didn't take a penny from us - wouldn't take a penny from us (yes, we offered), and sent us elsewhere to fix our issue. And by the way, our mechanic? It was Henry himself. We wouldn't have had reason to know this if I didn't ask directly if that was him. I hope not to need a vehicle fixed again while in Tuscaloosa in the future, but if I do, there's only one place I'll go, and that's Henry's Auto Care. Thank you, Henry!
