They lied to me. I went for front end alignment and they said it was ball joints. It was a bent tire rod. They charged me 43$ to lie. If I'd let them replace front ball joints it would've been 600.$. read more

I was sold defective tires that were supposed to be rated for 25000 miles. Within 10000 miles, they were bald. With few exceptions, their customer service has been steadily been going downhill the last few years. Rather than accept responsibility for selling bad tires, they found a way to blame the customer. Their way of making it right was for me to buy new tires and get a few fees off. No prorating. They have one person at the front desk who has zero people skills. This is one of the best auto service companies in Tuscaloosa. In business since 1970, this company has been working on cars in my family for years. My dad used this company for his needs when he was in the excavation business, and for tires for our farm equipment. I've been bringing my vehicles here for service from the time I turned 16, to when I moved away with the military. Since I've moved back home, they've been providing service and tires for my vehicles with the same quality service that I remember. I've moved around a lot and know that finding a reputable place to trust with your vehicle is difficult. I've been ripped off before, and know how it feels. Ron, Jack, and Co. are straight up guys who will treat you right. I trust them with my vehicles, and the rest of my family trusts their vehicles to Jac Mac as well. JacMac Tire and service was not busy today, which was good for me and for them. I usually get depressed when my car gets sick because RARELY do I walk away without spending a grand. But this visit was very pleasant. The customer service man asked me what was wrong with my vehicle, then asked me for the key. He went out and took my car for a test drive, then onto the rack. I waited in the lobby waiting area for a very brief time and then he came back. He told me I had a couple of options. Option one included replacing brake rotors and option two, pads only. I took the less expensive option two because money was tight. My total bill was HALF of what I assumed it would be. At JacMac, the difference is simple. They don't seem to want to drain your checking account like other places around Tuscaloosa who want to bill you no less than 1000 dollars every time you walk in the door. And I really like that he OFFERED me the different options. Most places dont do that. They make you ASK for less expensive options then say, welllllll, but, if you do that then this will happen, etc. I think I just found "my mechanic." read more

I have only had a flat tire fixed here before and that was a good experience. But today I took my car in due to a cylinder misfiring and I still can't get over how quick they are, but also pleasant and honest. Took my old run-around car in for mounting and balancing 4 new tires and a four wheel alignment. I had bought the tires on-line and planned to install them elsewhere, but that didn't work out. They gladly installed the tires and did the alignment in roughly one hour. Everyone was nice and the price was very fair. read more

After reading good reviews, I thought this would be a good place to take my car. Wrong! You could definitely tell this was a Friday afternoon. This is the worst experience with my car in 14 years. I needed to get my rear driver tire patched since it had a nail in it. I told the lady at the counter that I wanted it patched. She told the technician the same thing. What does he do? He decided on his own to plug the tire after disobeying instructions. Once I found out it was plugged I made them do it over and patch it like I told them the first time. Then once they're finished, they still charge me the $18 for the patch after being inconvenienced. No discount. I get to the car and they threw my seat cushion on the floor and stomped all over it, leaving several boot prints. Next, they put the wrong valve cap back on. Mine is silver metal and they put a black plastic one on. Had to get them to change it back. Next, I look in the trunk and they just threw my spare tire back inside without properly stowing it back correctly. I had to spend the next 30 minutes putting it back in myself because no one offered to help since they were closing. When I got home, I had to spend an hour cleaning the inside of my car as a result of their dirty hands. Very angry and disappointed! The lady at the counter told me the technician was moody all day. Well, his bad moodiness just cost them my future business. I will most likely never go back to that place ever again. It'll be the absolute last option in Tuscaloosa before I even consider it. My son who is a student at UA had a flat tire, he called JacMac and they ordered a new tire for him. When they were servicing the tire they found a nail in it so instead of putting the new tire on, they patched the old tire. Any other tire place would have taken advantage of my son and charged him for the new tire. They charged him $12 to patch the tire!! I spoke to them on the phone, they were so good to my son and very professional. I strongly recommend JacMac, they are the most honest people which is so hard to find anymore. read more

Being from California and my son going to school in Alabama we wanted to find a shop there that would service and maintain his truck. His truck is an F150 that had been lowered and running on 22" tires and wheels. Fine for California but just didn't work out in Tuscaloosa. So new stock tires and wheels and the truck needed to be raised to it's stock height which would be more practical and ride much better. After running to one shop called Taylors to see if he would be interested in doing the job he referred us to Jacmac Tire. After I finish with this review I'll go give Taylor 5 stars just for being honest and not just taking the job on just for the money, and for the great recommendation. Not being from the area and having to trust others to guide us in the right direct, JacMac was easy to find and was a well run family type business. The guy we talked to about the estimate and possible work that needed to be done was Justin. He understood exactly what needed to be done, the parts involved and the total came just under his original estimate. The truck rides even better now and my son is quite happy with the end result. I want to thank JacMac for the great work, price and overall honesty. Being 2300 miles away while the work was being done as I had to come back to California before it could be completed. I can tell you that if I can trust them from here you truly can if you live in Tuscaloosa. I highly recommend this shop. read more
