This is my experience with Brown's. I went to Brown's during lunch for an estimate. That was probably a mistake because I think I interrupted the estimator's lunch. I tried to introduce myself to him and shake his hand as he tried to walk past me in the lobby, as he blasted by me asking me which car it was, he finally offered up 3 of his fingers to shake my hand. Not a good start. The estimate to replace the broken section of grill and repaint the scrape on the roof was $2,100.00. The estimator explained it is a 3 step process and really expensive to paint. The scrap on the roof is about 3 inches long and an inch wide. Only the paint is missing, there are no dents. The estimate to repair the small dent in the back door was $2,500.00. The guy doing the estimate said the entire door had to be replaced. The Rav4 emblems all the way to the interior panels of the door. WTH?? I tried to tell him that the door worked fine, there was no alignment problems, no scratches in the paint, it was only a dent on one part of the door, but he said the Rav4 was a terrible design and it all had to be replaced. All the interior parts that hold the sprare tire were busted. But I tried to explain there is no noise...indicating broken parts, there is no problem opening or closing the door. Nope he said poor design, it all has to be replaced. I asked him that I would take the tire cover off and the tire, would I see the damage. Yep he said. He never offered to remove them himself to verify. When I got home, I removed them both. There was no visual damage. I went to another shop, they are bumping out the back door for less than $500.00 and replacing the grill and painting for $350.00. They removed the cover and tire and saw there was no other damage. So, instead of paying $4,600.00, the bill is less than $850.00. I can't help but wonder if I had been a man, the guy would have listened to me and tried to do a little more diligence in estimating the work, or if I didn't come during lunch. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this shop.

My 2014 Honda Accord Coupe was rear-ended on McFarland back in 2017, and I was recently backed into while parked in town. They were able to work with both parties' insurance companies easily and took the care to do the best work and not rush anything through. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the process. I certainly recommend them.

TL;DR: Bought a truck, love the truck, Autology is a great vendor I would buy from again and…read morerecommend to others. I purchased a 1980 Land Rover Series III from Autology in June of 2020 and received delivery in August 2020. It was one they had on offer for sale, not a custom order. Paul was excellent to deal with, very responsive, and forthcoming about the vehicle I was interested in. His YouTube videos about Santana Land Rovers, what they are, and how they work were all useful throughout my experience. To clarify, and in contrast with other reviews here, it is important to note that as they state on their website Autology sells used vehicles, not restored ones. If you are expecting a show car that is as close to factory fresh as possible, express that desire and be willing to pay for the additional work and parts required to bring a vehicle to that level. Otherwise, enjoy purchasing a used vehicle with some parts or elements refreshed and reworked that will enable you to drive it the day it arrives, and budget for normal wear items & minor tidbits. My truck specifically needed normal maintenance work performed when it arrived: oil change, transmission fluid change, and some undercarriage cleaning. Not much to be done, as promised. The only big bummer for me was that I did not begin the process soon enough to make the birthday deadline I had set: I bought my truck as a present for someone else, and even though I purchased at the beginning of June it didn't arrive until the end of August, 2 weeks after the birthday. If you have a date in mind, give yourself a little more than 2 months to pay internationally (may take a day or two), get the truck ready to ship, have it waiting for a spot on a ship, get loaded, travel, clear customs, get offloaded, and shipped by 18-wheeler to you. Yup, international shipping takes a lot of time. All that being said, I am immensely happy with the 1980 Land Rover Series III I ended up with. For the money, it's an extremely unique vehicle that turns heads and serves its purpose. Not a highway cruiser, but a delightful grocery getter and a plucky dirt road adventurer. Haven't tried rock crawling it, but I'm confident it will live up to the "Go Anywhere, Do Anything" Land Rover motto. It just makes me smile. And the person I gave it to loves it as well. Paul is really easy to talk to; if you're interested or if you want to learn more, I suggest reaching out through the website and being open about your wants, your needs, and your concerns. He's a bona fide car guy and he's been doing this for a while, so he'll have an informed expert's answer for you. He was always straight-forward and customer service oriented with me. And if you're on the fence, GO FOR IT! Couldn't be happier with Autology Motors and Paul.

My experience with Autology was subpar and the quality of thewas FAR below my expectations…read more I was recommended this shop from somebody I was close to from the pictures of the shop's work on Facebook and I thought the work would be great but you know the cliche, "but I was sadly mistaken." I took my 16 Dodge Challenger to this shop to get body work done from where it was involved in a wreck. It needed a new bumper, radiator, and passenger door. I did get the new bumper and radiator replaced but HOWEVER he did not replace my passenger door. He did a horrid patchwork job on repairing the passenger door using shoddy materials WITHOUT MY CONSENT! I was under the impression that the door was being replaced as he even stated that I needed a new door. I did go with a Hellcat hood instead and he done it to "cut cost because I wanted that hood" and he did not mention that as a reason upfront of not replacing the door and even so that wasn't a legitimate reason to cut corners and that will be the reoccurring theme. My roof was also damaged from the wreck and Autology did "repair" the roof(and I use repair very loosely) and the ended up having more dents in it than it originally came to the shop with. I went to pick up my car up, I was overjoyed with just getting my car back(at that time my other car wasn't in my possession) but I was blinded by that. After 2 weeks I noticed many flaws. The door was wavy because of warped bondo, more dents were clearly visible, the door had a jagged ridge on the bottom where he split the door open, trash and a white film in my paint, epoxy in areas where he patched up, AND this does not even include things he missed entirely when the appraiser came out and that included damage from the undercarriage from the wreck and the rocker panel still had damage. Also the bottom grille in my car and front bumper was installed with improper equipment because the bumper ended up warping from the pressure screws and the area uses plastic rivets(the shop didn't want to pay the Dodge dealership $70 for the rivets per Autology saying) and used push pins in my grille and winds of 100mph + forced it clean out! I wasn't happy with this at all and I contacted the shop and at first they seem to ignore my complaints and only complaint they acknowledged was the door. They indirectly ignored what I mentioned to them about my grille, bumper, and roof. I took the car back to the owner of Autology, took a look at everything and he seen what my complaints were and with that situation he said that "he would repair the car and also replace my door." I also learned that he used solvent paint, and the current Challengers use waterborne paint, and when I told them that he tried giving me some kind of excuse saying solvent and waterborne are the same. Autology took the car back to repair the first repairs they made but it never came to be. They had my car for a month and the first weeks I did not receive any notification from the shop that the owner would not be in the shop(I had to find out from a Facebook post somebody screenshot and sent to me, I don't have Facebook). It took me to reach out to the to get the status on my car and when the original deadline came to passed, the owner said it would be pushed back until the end of the month(the shop is over 100 miles from where I live) and he said "he was going to strip the material off my old door and refinish it." I stopped him right there and asked him what happened to replacing my door completely. He gave an excuse of "I got the hellcat hood and that why we cut cost" that was the final straw, I got my car back and went else where. The final acts of disrespect that was displayed to me was when I went to pick up my car. I called the owner to let him know I was on my way to pick it up. This man was not there on time, my car was so dirty looking like it's been sitting in the a dust storm, parked among the broken down vehicles, my interior was dirty from the shop, and worst of all AN EMPLOYEE WAS WORKING ON THE OWNER'S PERSONAL VEHICLE. I was fed up with his service and he had the audacity to ask "did I figure out what I was going to do to my car." The shop doesn't get 0 stars is because when they replaced my radiator they had to take it to the Dodge dealership to recharge the system and it uses a brand of refrigerant that isn't on the market(and the fact that I can't leave a zero star review). He cut too many corners, intentionally damaged equipment because they did not know how to properly install the parts . Used wrong parts in wrong areas. 6 months the areas where Autology painted started to chip and peel away. This was the newest vehicle I would imagine they worked on because they are usually working on older cars much MUCH older than my car. My opinion I wouldn't recommend you taking your car there if it's fairly new. It may come back worse than it arrived.
