I found this place by requesting a quote through yelp and they were the first one to replied back. Their response was very quick. Anyways, I came in to have my maintenance on my AC and the jerk issue with my car. Nothing was coming up on the initial diagnose but Sam, the owner, suggested that I should do a transmission maintenance in which I did. After doing the transmission maintenance, he found my fluid not in a great state along with filter issues. After doing so, my car feels better compared to when it started but it definitely do still need some work but we're heading on the right direction. He then suggested that do a couple more transmission fluid change just to completely flush out my old transmission fluid in which I agree to do. Oh and the AC works so much better now. Honestly speaking, this place will now be my go to place due to their great service, knowledge, and very fair pricing. Even though they're quite far from my house, it's a drive I'm willing to do. This shop is awesome. The owner is very responsive, honest, and offers the best prices in the bay area. I ran into trouble getting my car smogged due to two different issues: my transmission fluid being contaminated or a solenoid went bad. I took my 2007 lexus is350 to them and they were able to identify that my transmission fluid needed a complete flush and fill. After only 2 hours, they were able to fix this problem and my car was safe to smog. These guys are really knowledgeable about cars and they offer tons of other services ranging from oil changes to body work. I will forsure be going to them for any car problems I have. read more

Short story: I'm a new customer. The crew at K&S did a great job diagnosing, communicating, and repairing my car. The cost was more than fair, and they did it in a timely way. I'm happy to have worked with them and it feels good to know a mechanic I can trust and bring my cars to. My car started making some strange noises. I called Sam and he said come on over! The issue was tricky to diagnose. Sam called me a few hours later to let me know he needed more time to figure out where the sound is coming from. I really appreciated the update. Next day, he called me and said they figured out it was coming from the transmission. He told me it is a replacement and I was a bit shocked (I was hoping it is a loose bolt somewhere). He was able to find a used transmission for a reasonable price, and is willing to warranty the work, but I was not emotionally ready for such a big and expensive job, so I took the car home. I sought a second opinion, and took my time, and even did a transmission oil change hoping the noise would go away. After having exhausted my options, I came back. For this whole process, Sam was understanding and patient. He takes the time to explain what he sees and we talked over options together. I felt he really cares about a relationship with his customers. A couple days later, my car is ready for pick up. I immediately noticed how much more responsive the drive felt. I had gotten used to the sluggish and delayed transfer of power from gas peddle to wheel so I had no idea it can drive so much better. He had also replaced some other parts, and a whiny noise that was coming from one of my wheels went away. It was a bigger repair than I expected, but I am glad he found these issues and fixed them. Three months ago I went to K&S automotive to replace my clutch for the transmission. Upon the arrival at the auto shop, I was greeted by the owner and was impressed with the professionalism he displayed during the discussion of what needs to be replaced and informed me he'd do preventative maintenance to ensure there is no other issues with my vehicle for free. During the week he called me to inform there's an issue with the driver side panel behind the pedals. He informed me what he recommends as well as gave me a quote. It was expensive, but it was worth the repair. As I was about to pay the for the repair the owner told me he deducted the cost of the repair, due to the less labor hours was required. K&S automotive offers a lot of services, but that's not the reason I would recommend them.
