I surfed for the first time! The staff here was extremely courteous and patient. I was only here for a limited time and reached out to the shop I spoke directly to the owner. He told me they were booked but he make sure to keep in touch with me if they were any cancellations. On my last day I checked in with him and he confirmed with me they had an opening! My family of 6 stopped into the smaller shop last weekend and the staff were so welcoming and nice. The owner happened to be in there and gave all our kids stickers and my youngest a bucket and shovel with their logo on it, so so sweet!! I always get a little nervous bringing all our kids into some stores, but they made us all feel so welcome! When I was much younger, my family would make the trek out to OC, MD every summer for a 1-2 week stay. K-Coast was one of those surf shops we always hit up. After going away to college, we stopped going to OC. This summer, my friends and I finally traveled again, being older and wiser, having all graduated from college. At the end of the week, after frequenting many of the OC MD surf shops, we came to a realization that K-Coast has really taken over to become the #1 surf shop in OC. Here are a few reasons why K-Coast is best: 1) Selection. Out of all of the shops, K-Coast appeared to have the largest supply of clothing brands, as well as surfboards and definitely bodyboards. 2) The staff. The people working at K-Coast are all very friendly and helpful. I was always asked if I needed help. 3) There is a separate shop totally devoted to women's clothing. My friends and I went in to shop for our girlfriends - and came out successful. 4) The K-Coast brand shirts are really well designed and cool looking. read more

I highly recommend this experience with kids. We had all 3 of our children ages 12,11 and 7 come for lessons. They were helpful and attentive. They guided them into the water and had people quickly catching the loose boards after and helped them swim out again. The staff were all friendly and made us and the kids feel safe ! Great shop with a huge selection of anything you need surf related. Their sunglass selection is one of the best in Ocean City. Their prices are just the same as other shops, its called a vendor's MSRP, it's what they are supposed to sell it for. That's how a business works, you need to make a good margin in order to stay in business. Come on people. Great surf shop hands down, always a friendly staff as well. Traveled to Ocean City from the West Coast, not sure where to surf or where the "surf beaches" were, but the crew at K-Coast hooked me up when other nearby shops did not. The other shops were either: 1. closed, 2. clueless, 3. located too far away from the places it was "legal" to surf. But K-Coast had multiple locations and set me up with a board, showed me where the surf beaches were (the fact that you have to surf in a block or two stretch is lame by the way East Coast, but not fault of K-Coast ... time to fight for your right to surf wherever you want!). Long story short, I would not have got the stoke on the East Coast if not for the gang down at K-Coast. Thanks again to everyone there. I crossed a goal off my list because of you. read more

I recently developed a habit of checking in on Yelp and was pleasantly surprised that there's a 10% promo for a clothing item after my check-in. It was great since we already made up our mind to pick up a pair of swim trunks. The store itself have 2 levels and have a nice variety for both male and female. I was impressed with how organized the shop is considering how much merchandise was on the floor. The staff greeted us and asked if we need help while browsing. I reduced a star since the merchandise is on the pricey side but it was expected in a convenient tourist location. read more

I like this store; the staff is typically nice and attentive. The last time we went on a Saturday morning though, there was no one there to open at 8am. Their hours are posted on the door stating 8am as well as on some websites. When I called and asked when they would be open, the man said 8:30 or 9 (can't recall exactly which one). I mentioned that we thought it was 8 and they might want to change them. They recently changed the hours. I told him there were quite a few people waiting and he said something about surf lessons then hung up. read more

This place is exactly what a beach surf shop should be! Huge selection of clothes, swimwear, bags, and shoes! It's very hard to not buy everything because they have all the cutest styles! They have a huge selection of Reef sandals and an entire wall of girl's swimwear styles! There's also a new restaurant connected to it: The Toucan. That place has some great mahi-mahi tacos! But that's another review altogether! K-Coast is definitely a must on everyone's beach shopping list! read more

This store is attached to the crazy 8s sandwich shop. It was recommended take a walk around as my food was being prepared and that's exactly what it was... a simple stroll around a store at which no one paid any attention to me whatsoever. Hey smiling face greeted me as I walked by the register but I was not approached once during my 10 minutes and I can't say that it bothered me much because there was absolutely nothing that stood out or was of interest. I was surprised at how large the place was and maybe even have some nice surfboards (I am not an authority), but both levels of clothing just left me yawning. read more

A great selection of surf/skate clothes and gear for men, women and kids. The lower level of the store has a wide selection of women's clothing, sandals, sunglasses and surf DVDs. The upper level houses a slightly smaller, but still expansive, selection of men's clothing, as well as youth clothing. If you walk past the men/children's clothing, there is a section devoted to surf, standup paddle, skim, and boogie boards as well as all accessories (wetsuits, shorties, leashes, fins, wax, etc). The staff here are always friendly and willing to help if you help. It's a little pricey, mainly due to the fact that the store carries all name brands such as Quicksilver, Billabong, Hurley etc. I could do some serious damage to my wallet at this store, thank God I am only in Ocean City on weekends! read more

Nice shop with a wide selection of beach accessories and with good quality. A good contrast is with sunsation, don't mean to bad mouth about the business, sunsation carries low end products, I couldn't find the stuff that I wanted. I was impressed by the nice selection of brands Kcoast carries. The price is not all that bad, I don't mind to pay a few more bucks there than other outlet store, so I can get the product sooner. It also has a second floor, there you can find all kinds of boards and wet suits. So it's actually bigger than what you thought from outside. read more

This is one of my favorite stores in oc. The selection of different clothes and accessories for men, women, and children is so vast you are almost guaranteed to find something you love every time you go in there. The store is very organized and not as messy as some of the other stores down in oc. Every brand you can imagine is in the store such as billabong, element, reef, vans, etc. They are always getting new things in every week so they always have new selections. They have not only tons of things for the summer but they also get seasonal items such as beautiful sweaters. Every time I am in oc I always try to get to the store and check out all the new items. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The only thing I dislike about this store is in season how busy it can get and the very few fitting rooms they have. The K-coast tees are printed on good quality shirts and the printing is of great quality. Very poor customer service experience. Tried to use Yelp coupon and was told that it is not honored. When I questioned why I was told that it was a scam. Was told they only honored their coupons. The way I was spoken to you would have thought I was the scammer. Was bothered by the way I was treated so I called the store and was treated in a very similar fashion over the phone. I have shopped there for a number of years and not had bad experiences in the past. After this experience I will not be shopping there again. read more

Didn't have much of a chance to shop. We were asked by a young female clerk to check our Vera Bradley back pack purses because it was their policy not to allow "book bags" in the store. We explained that they were purses and not book bags but it made no difference. If they do not trust me in their store with my purse then I certainly don't trust them to hold my purse.
