A friend of mine had a good experience there with her mother, though, so we decided to give it a chance. I'm glad we did. My dad stayed at Alcott for about 4 months, and overall we had a very positive experience. The nurses, caregivers, PT, and OT staff were wonderful with him. They were patient, attentive, and genuinely caring toward my 90-year-old dad. Most importantly, he left much stronger and in much better physical condition than when he arrived. One thing that really stood out to me was how clean the facility was. There always seemed to be someone cleaning, and the staff truly tried their best to care for the residents. I know people complain about the food, but realistically it's hospital-style food, and they have to prepare meals that work for elderly residents with different health needs. We ended up bringing some of my dad's favorite foods whenever we visited, which helped. I also want to give a special thank you to Ms. Fern from Social Services. She was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the process of finding an assisted living facility for my dad, and she even followed up after his discharge to check on how he was doing. That meant a lot to our family. My dad was lucky and ended up having great roommates who looked out for each other, which was really sweet to see. Thank you to the entire Alcott team for taking care of my dad and helping our family through a difficult time.

I fully understand that this is a high-stress environment, and I always try to be respectful in my interactions. However, I believe every family deserves to be treated with courtesy and dignity--especially when advocating for a loved one's care.

Compared to the other GP's I have been to in the past would be, without exaggeration, comparing a hostel in Hollywood to a 5 star hotel in Beverly Hills. Beautiful spacious office, decor, large flat screen TV in the waiting room. But of course, that will not help your affliction but it does take the stress off of being sick and its a lot better than being cramped up in a small stinky waiting room with a bunch of crying babies and people coughing 5 feet away from you. I was greeted by two polite and lovely ladies who gave me the paperwork to fill out. The wait to meet Dr. Lee was not unreasonable and I was captivated by the nature videos in the waiting room. (although the penguins getting viciously attacked by the sea lions was a bit unsettling.) Dr. Lee was very friendly. He listened very well to my problem and gave me illustrative examples of what could be going on. He spent a great deal of time with me and I didn't feel the slightest bit rushed. He gave me his full time and attention and addressed my problem articulately and with creative ideas as to what the problem may be and how to approach it. I'm actually looking forward to getting sick just so I can visit this office again. Jut kidding. But if I do, it certainly will be a better experience and I feel confident under Dr. Lee's care. It is a great relief to me to feel like I have a competent doctor to go to when in need.

So, coming here during the afternoon, naturally, the small parking lot will be busier. Ugh, tight parking spots, hoping all these cars are good drivers, haha. There's a parking garage too, single level, surprised that there were two vacant spots available. The office is on the second floor immediately off the elevator. I checked in with reception, took a seat for a few minutes, then it was time for vitals. The MA measured my weight, BP, and temp. Also, asked if I had any cold or flu symptoms. Now the wait to be seen... The patient room is much nicer than the former office. Seemed like the appointment went by so fast. I was done in 45 minutes.

My mom and I spent an hour calling & searching for a hospital that could take me in. We found Doctor Baik at the Samuel Medical Center!!!!!!! Saved my life and my soul. This place runs as a WALK-IN basis, and I attached their office hours! Doctor Baik was super kind and patient and prescribed me in like 10 mins!!!! Wait was not bad for it being a walk-in and the nurse's blood pressure/screening was very quick too! Found my go-to doctor. Thank you, Dr. Baik T_T

Their lack of training and follow up are dangerous. My mother called in for my grandmother multiple times for unexplained diarrhea, which for a 92 year old Alzheimer patient is very troubling. She repeatedly asked for a Telehealth consult because my grandmother was bedridden and could not make it down there for an office visit and we did not want to traumatize her with a potentially unnecessary ER visit. The receptionists failed to follow up after assuring my mother each time that they would consult with Dr. Baik and get back to her. Either they did not do this or Dr. Baik ignored our pleas. Finally, we could not wait any longer and we took my poor grandmother to the ER, where she was diagnosed with severe dehydration and renal failure, among other complications. She passed away shortly after this. I am looking to sue this practice and report them to the state regulatory board. Shame on you, Dr. Baik.
