Love this spot! We booked a private room by calling in a day before, but if you want to sing on a busy weekend night, make sure to call well in advance because they don't have too many rooms. The mics were good, and the karaoke machine had a good selection of songs. The rooms were not soundproof though, so we could easily hear other people singing if we were in the hallways. We took my daughter and other family (a total of 7 people) for her 21st birthday. We got a private room which I was led to believe cost $40/ hour. The room was more than we needed but good for spreading out. The explanation of the karaoke machine wasn't very clear but we could figure it out. Not a very user friendly machine and song choices were far more limited than expected. We had to turn the volume down every time a new song started. The was no "service" included. The host showed us the room, the karaoke machine and never checked on us. To get drinks, we had to go out to the bar. When I went out to order something, the host was having a dispute with other guests that elevated to police being called. I never got my drink. When I checked out, she told me it was $80/hour which was not my understanding. I tried to argue but was just tired of the experience and I didn't want to make a scene in front of my daughter. I paid the $296 charge, twice what I expected with no tip. There was zero service. What am I tipping for? I will never go back. We had a good time together as a family but the K-Mix did nothing that stood out to me as worthy of $296. read more

K-Mix is a spot that you should not drive by, you must stop! It is a little spot on the edge of a strip mall, so if you blink you may miss it. But, keep driving and once you find it you will enter into an amazing spot of music, fun, and lots of laughter--at least for our group! K-Mixx has several karaoke rooms and a larger on in the main area when you walk in. While you wait for your room you can sing a song and grab a drink. The drinks are so reasonable and good with most being under $10. Our bartender was so nice along with one of the owners. Room go for $40 an hour and include ample seating, a few microphones, and a good song selection. We found it difficult to use the song selector, so the owner came and helped us and we were all good. Also, because of the inconvenience she let us stay longer for no extra charge! We sang, danced, and sweated a lot in that room! But, we had so much fun for just $40 plus our drinks. The ambiance was there, drinks were good, service was great. They taught us how to use the karaoke system.... but what was missing was the music. There were maybe a handful of Spanish songs to choose from and it was a bit disappointing. This place was so fun! My family has been wanting to go for years, but the pandemic kind of stalled our plans. We finally made a reservation for Mother's Day and had such a fun two hours! The room was spacious (I believe we had a medium sized room) and there were lights and a disco ball for ambiance. Also, there were tons of songs to choose from. It was our first time going today and it certainly won't be the last! we loved everything about this place. The staff is wonderful, helpful, and very kind. she explained everything well and let us extend our reservation for another hour. Prices are very reasonable especially if you come with friends and split. the room was very comfortable and we all enjoyed having fun together. read more

It was alright sound system was having a lot of issues so we only used one microphone, and compared to other karaoke spots they were missing a lot of well known songs which really surprised me. If you're from Asian culture this would definitely be the spot to go to as they had a variety of different songs in multiple languages heavily targeting Asian music. read more

Kind of surprised that to find a pretty legit karaoke place in the Triangle. There is a main dance floor/bar area, and a number of private rooms that people can rent. A small room is about $50/hr and fits about 9 people, so if you can get enough people the cost is not that bad. The karaoke and sound system in the room are decent. They have songs in a variety of languages including Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean and English. It's good place the bellow out a few tunes once in a while and you can just do it in front of friends. read more

First time there. I think it is a new business. Really remind me of China in terms of decor and the karaoke system. There is an nice bar area outside and each karaoke room is separate with its own system. We had 13 people and we are all comfortably seated. The hostess showed us the room and brought the drinks and snacks we ordered, and we sang for 3 hours! It was alot of fun. Although the water is supposedly to be paid, we had them refilled with tap water... we were really confused with the waitress when she told us that they were suppose to charge us since they are running a business. Very awkward moment. Other than that, everything were awesome and we had alot of fun. For 3 hrs, we each paid around $25, which is reasonable. Overall it was a good experience. read more

This karaoke was the most ridiculous KTV, the sound system was not good, my throat hurts after two three songs, you couldn't hear your self singing basically, and we asked for a small room , they charged $178 before we enter the room, for 8 drinks and a plate of fruit and 10 piece of peanuts and two small tiny snacks, fine, Chinese New Year and I bought my friends. Freaking my friends wanted red bull and hot water, they said it's not one of their selective drink, red bull is additional $5, and hot water is $10 for two cups? That totally ruined the moments. Foreword: I created a yelp account for the express purpose of writing this review. I was invited, along with several others, to attend a coworker's birthday at K-Mix Karaoke last Friday night. I left my apartment complex a bit after 10pm to hit the bar. I arrived shortly thereafter at a shopping center featuring a dilapidated Toys R Us, a comic book store, and K-Mix. After a brief stop at the comic shop, I headed to the bar. At the door, I was informed that there was a $5 cover charge, which was fortunately waived because our birthday boy had reserved a room. I continued inside to find a completely empty dance floor and bar. "Nice," I thought, "no wait for a drink." I sidled on up to the bar, and the only bartender threw up her pointer finger, indicating that I would need to wait a minute before getting a beer. This brief wait gave me the chance to take in my surroundings. The dance floor was flooded with green light and the sound of what I believe was Chinese Tech-house. There were three screens in the room: two TVs behind the bar showing a college baseball game between Florida and TCU, and a projector screen displaying the original iTunes visualizer which, frankly, I prefer to the new one. Nice #2. Continuing my sweep of the room, I spied a rather animated DJ working the decks for his imaginary audience. Weird vibes. After several minutes of processing, the bartender came by to take my order. She carded me once again, which felt a little excessive, and allowed me to order a beer. Only then was I informed that our room came with beer. Nice #3. I sashayed to the back of a hallway to find the door to the VIP area, where very important people such as myself like to do our karaoking. I crossed the threshold to find my fellow karaokels splayed out across a room-length couch behind two large tables, one of which carried several buckets of beer, and both of which bore a box of Kleenex, to accommodate more emotional members of the audience, I presume. The room had two large projector screens for music videos (more on those later) and two computer terminals. One obviously controlled the karaoke, but the other's purpose was (and remains) a mystery to me. This was a small screen, perhaps half an iPad in size, that displayed an arrangement of colorful buttons, each of which showed a minimalist icon accompanied by a few Chinese characters. Despite several systematic attempts to divine their purpose through use, I am no wiser than I was upon entering. From the main screen, of the karaoke controller there were a number of genres to choose from; among them: Mainland (Chinese music), Pop (Asian Pop), and Europe (white people music, and a limited selection of hip-hop). Neither I nor any of the other karaokeys could sing in Chinese or Korean, so our song choices came from the Europe category. Once you have selected a musical category, you are presented with a page (one of approximately 90) of musical artists. Each selection consists of an artist's name an a picture. Note that I did not write "and his or her picture," as this was not always the case; a notable exception was the name "Olivia Newton-John" accompanied by a photo of Paris Hilton wearing a large bump-it and a black dress. The curators of our music landed on a rather odd distribution of songs. I could not find a single Red Hot Chili Peppers song, but I was able to locate the entire discography of Gavin DeGraw. Fortunately, "I Don't Wanna Be" is one of my all-time favorite karaoke songs. Nice #4. Some song choices came with their original music videos, but these paled in comparison to the best visuals we saw. My personal favorite was a series of stock footage shots of a blonde woman wearing some excellent sunglasses and alternately ambling through a field of tall grass and gently swaying on a swing. Another featured shots of a park and a duck pond, but one was particularly surprising and subtle. When "Wannabe," the Spice Girls' mid 90s tour-de-force, came on, the projectors lit up with an energetic video of an all female dance trio mouthing the words to the song. It took me about a minute and a half to realize that there were five Spice girls, not three, and that these were not any three of the original crew. Someone had taken the time to make this video specifically for the song Wannabe. I needed some time to reflect on what I had just seen, and fortunately our servers had just presented us with a spread of snacks: a plate of honeydew melon and oranges, a plate of Cheetos puffs, and a plate of pistachios. Pistachios proved to be an excellent food to eat while I pondered how one gets involved in the business of making karaoke videos. I drank some more beer, sang some great songs, ate more pistachios, and enjoyed the company of my cokaraokers before I made my exit. The experience I had at K-Mix was unlike any other, and was pleasantly strange the whole way through. 5 Stars I will probably go back here before I move at the end of the summer. read more

Had a very uncomfortable experience. My group was all females, and the staff acted very inappropriate towards us. After taking my credit card the bartender (older gentleman) refused to get me a drink or return my card until I smiled for him. We rented a small room and called for help because our machine was stuck I'm another language. A woman and the bartender came in. The woman quickly fixed it and left. The bartender picked up the mic and started singing and did not leave. We kept saying telling him to leave but he kept laughing and staying. I was unsure if he just thought we were kidding or if he was being creepy since we were all females. One of us grabbed the mic from him and nudged him with their hips towards the door to signal him to leave. He didnt leave and began to try to grind on my friend. We saw he had a wedding ring so told him he was acting inappropriate and he was married. He said something along the lines of "let me worry about that". He kept touching my friends who were sitting and pulling them to stand to get them to dance with him. It was extremely uncomfortable. We texted a male friend to come and he kicked the bartender out of the private room. I am not sure what would have happened if our male friend had not kicked him out. We all felt very unsafe. If your group does not include males I would avoid this place due to the predatory nature of the staff read more

I have been to this karaoke bar/dance club for awhile and it is about time for me to review this place. Service: the staff is great; they served drinks are amazing at the right price with the right amount and mixtures. Ordering a room also compliments their attitude of their service whenever you call them in. Place: the outside is lively with the up to date music you can hear every month. The lighting is just right as well. Overall, my experience to this place is amazing and would go there every once or twice a month for a drink and sing. read more

Expensive. But fun. My friends and I went on a Friday night for the first time and it was a blast. The rooms are pretty big and nice for the space - but it can be really expensive overall. Fun place and great sound system! Drinks are very fairly priced. Went with some friends from work and sang it up in their main hall. Cool club atmosphere without hassle of being super crowded club. Plus they have private rooms you and friends can rent to have your own private party. Karaoke bars like this are very popular in Asia and major cities in US so it's a nice little find. So much fun!!! They have individual rooms for karaoke so you can do it with a group!!! The drinks were cheap and they had lots of songs to choose from. They were pretty friendly and it was a clean place! We will definitely be coming back :) read more

I really wanted to like it---but their website listed a small room price of $25/hr on non-weekend days---and I confirmed that in September with the person who answered their phone. Went there tonight and was told that a small room is $49/hr but that the three of us could pay $15 each and sing in the bar area. We asked if the three of us paying $45 could get us a room (and some happy customers who would be buying drinks) especially in light of the price issue (the woman working there claimed that they NEVER had a $25/hr rate). Nope. Note that they don't have their room hourly rates listed anywhere (that I can find). Felt like this was a complete bait and switch. Not a way to do business to have happy customers. Go to Star Karaoke instead. read more
