Legends is a good time. I visited with friends during my birthday weekend to attend a drag show and had a good time. This bar is notorious B.I.G. It has a beautiful patio with a cute tiki style bar. This is one of the largest bars I've seen in Raleigh. I've attended drag shows in New York City but the show here was way more entertaining. I really enjoyed the celebrity impersonations. Especially the Rihanna/Beyonce look alike lol. They have a huge dance floor, store inside that sells underwear and the large patio. Even if you aren't a member of the LGBTQ community, this is such a fun place to visit. Check out a show or stop in for a few drinks at one of the bars. read more

Usually great but as of late the staff have been unnecessarily rude and the music has been subpar.

I've always adored Legends, and have always wanted to go. However, I decided tonight was the night. I went with two friends, one of them being black. We arrive, no trouble. I and my friend get in without issue, however our friend didn't come inside for around 5 minutes. We call, she says she can't get in. We ask what's happening, we speak to a manager, white man, who immediately starts talking about her "attitude" and how he doesn't want "that in our club". I was appalled, I come outside to speak to our friend. She informs me she was told she was with another drunk person who was throwing up and couldn't come in) also a black woman), and not allowed inside. She says she isn't with her and is with us, to which she is told her attitude is the issue. What the issue is, however, is grouping our black friend with the only other black individual in line, calling for an attitude adjustment when wrongfully accused. and refusing to hear us out because you don't "want that" in the club. I was told multiple times they'd check the cameras, instead of consoling us, to which we continued to say "she is with us". Consider spending your money elsewhere divas, I am sick. read more

I came here a few days after my 21st birthday and had an amazing time. The people were kind, it was the perfect amount of busy and the music was decent. However, I paid the $10 entry fee for my friend who was under 21 and got charged twice. I attempted to reach out via Instagram, with an employee replying to me with his email telling me to contact him there. Days later and I have not heard back. I spoke with my family about this and apparently my brother, who has been coming to Legends for years, frequently gets double-charged. Please do better! read more

The only bad thing about this place is the DJ. Consistently people are always saying he isn't good. Nor will he take requests or listen to the people who actually want to provide advice on what the crowd wants. I've been living in NC for just 2 months and decided to try this place for the first time on a Friday and from my experience being a Pacific Islander guy, this is a white boys only club and it's clearly enforced by the club personnel. Club staff is very rude and unfriendly. Bartenders will not serve you or will delay your drinks, even though I wasn't drinking alcohol since I was the DD of my group of friends. They were extremely rude at all times to my buddy who is black and when I asked him if he was gonna do something about it he just said that it's normal over there and welcomed me to the south. Hard to believe that this happens amongst the gay community and that there are places that encourage that sort of behavior. Will not be going to this place again and would not encourage anyone to. read more

I really am glad I happened upon this place! I was actually leaving the area, after having tried to go into multiple different bars and being turned away at every single one due to having my (fully trained) service dog with me (despite that turning a service dog away is very illegal). As last effort to salvage a night that had been filled with disability discrimination, physical intimidation, and generally poor feelings we decided to give this establishment a shot. And I am so glad we did! The staff were very respectful of my service dog, and didn't interact with him at all or give us any issues. They were very friendly and made me feel safe for the first time in hours. The inside environment was still a little empty at the time of night it was, which was perfect for us. They had multiple side areas with seating, both secluded and not, and the drink my friend got was at least cheaper than everywhere else we had considered going to before. The noisiest area with a dancing stage was partially closed off, so although it was loud the worst of it was escapable if you are noise sensitive. I think it would be a good option to consider if you have a sensory related disability, but still want to have fun on the town! (Although keep in mind it is of course still a nightclub, so be sure to have a backup plan if the sensory input is too much!) The environment was great and they had fun halloween decorations up. None of the rest of the staff or the crowd bothered my dog, and it was so refreshing to not have to deal with ignorant public. Admittedly I didn't stay long, but I am very glad to know about this establishment now, and due to my positive experiences I would love to come back sometime to see their live shows! read more

The place is bigger than what it look like. When you walk in, you'll have to register your drivers license and phone number. Cover fee for a Friday night (I went during a show) was $8. Bar was cash only. They have a coat check for $1. Very little to none seats. VIP corners with lounge chairs available for extra $. I believe they range for $150-$200+ which includes bottle service and a personal host. Parking was easy and convenient. Parking decks one here side not even 20 yards from the club. I paid $6 for a parking garage ticket for 3.5 hours. Took me less than 3 mins to walk. Drinks were priced great and made well. I ordered 2 whiskey sours and 2 shots of tequila = $34 The DJ wasn't bad- the crowd got packed around midnight on the dance floor/stage area. read more

Visiting from out of town and went to buy a couple Jell-O shots. Had $5 in bills and $1 in quarters (cuz of playing games at the arcade) and he wouldn't accept the quarters. Dude had a fanny pack. I hate giving somewhere a 2-star rating, but my goodness... Legends needs to step it up. After my 3rd experience, I must say, nothing changes. I love the convenience of this place, but that's about it. The cover is $10 no matter what, which is a little steep for a dingy establishment. The patio is a nice touch, quite large but sucks to have to walk through it to get to the drag show on a Saturday night with 100 smokers crowded on it. The dance floor is fun but there's some drug activity on there that's just overlooked by their aloof security staff. WARNING: There is NO soap in their CO-ED bathrooms!!! Naaaasty.... I don't know how they're not fined for that. Shew! I can't get past the drama that goes on here and the lack of security. I completely love this place. All of the workers there are so sweet, and they are very fast at what they do. Emily was so sweet she was one of the workers there last night she was such a sweet girl. Also I met Daniel he works at the bar and he was such a fast paced worker honestly I don't know how he does it. They really have some of the sweetest people working there. Only thing thats kind of annoying they aren't very versatile with there music. Me and my sister can dance to anything, but I have a friends that I could never get to go there because they don't like how their music isn't versatile here. There were signs that said no parking but people just pulled up and parked. You also have to join their club and pay $8 for a annual membership. I recently visited here because one of my friends wanted to go to a drag show for her birthday. I hadn't been in probably 10 years, but man this place was a blast! It's much larger than I expected. There are so many different rooms tailored to your mood. Wanna dance? There's a dancefloor. Wanna chill out on couches and sip drinks with your friends? Theres a room for that. Want to be outside? There's a cool space for that as well. There's also a room with pool tables and other games. I knew going to a drag show would be fun, but I had so much more fun than I expected! There was so much energy in that room - it was incredible. My only downside was that the drinks were a little weak, but it didn't bother me too much. Legends was so much fun! Great music, great people, and great atmosphere. My cousin and I went on a Friday night, I think it was about 9:30 pm and the place was dead! We had a drink and then went somewhere else to kill some time. And came back. It was starting to ramp up, but things weren't really busy until 12:30, which is late for me haha! But I haven't gone to a dance club in years, so I'm out of the scene. I guess that's pretty normal for a city. So for those over 30, plan to go around midnight. If you go earlier, be prepared to have the dance floor and bar area to yourself. read more

We reserved bottle service in the private area, beside the Main Bar, for my partner's birthday party and I am so glad we did! The booking service was personal and so easy! I highly recommend this experience to anyone celebrating a night out with a group of friends. We arrived a little earlier than expected and everything was set up and ready to go! We were welcomed by James, who was our personal server for the night as well as the person responsible for taking the reservation. He had a huge smile and GREAT attitude from the time we arrived, through last call. Every time we pressed the "call" button he was immediately there to pour. After all this time Legends is just getting better and better. 5 people in our group had never been inside before and they were completely wowed by the experience. So, first of all, they charge you $8-9 to get in on a Saturday night and they only have a cash bar. Boo hiss, no one likes that. Then, I got to witness a man punch another man in the head, twice. Not one security guard could be found and the violent man was never kicked out. I asked a bartender who could help and he knew nothing, so I went to the front desk and told someone and they said that management was going to deal with it. I lingered around for another 45 minutes or so and the violent man was STILL there, no one had kicked him out. I don't think this is the right way to conduct a business and make your customers feel safe. You would think there would be a security presence in a gay bar of all places. It felt like that man could have gone completely mad, and nothing or no one would have stopped him. I had never felt so angry and disappointed at the way a club handled a violent altercation and I think it's something the club needs to fix, immediately. They must be doing some renovation because they have locked the doors on Hargett St side. When you have access to the full facility, Legends is like Alice's Wonderland, or Lady Gaga's dressing room (I think) because there are many different rooms here with many different persona. Every time you step through a door you get a changing vibe: a dive bar, an ultra lounge, an impromptu dance floor, a college social room with pool tables and dart board and Dance Dance Revolution arcade, an outdoor smokers' lounge, and a stage theater, which is where I come to check out the burlesque troupe perform every third Thursday; if you don't see me chowing down BOGO empanadas at Calavera, chances are I'm here getting my freak on! The drinks are cheaper, people are more friendly (and more frisky.) If this is your jam, then Legends is your place to be. read more

I really love the layout of the bar....but that's about it. I'm forced to go there because everyone who's gay has to go. However it's 2018 and the fact that they are a cash only bar blows my mind. Then the cover is $9 dollars, it's so excessive then on top of that they charge a $1 for using a debit card. Then they force you to use the ATM that also charges a $1.50 all because they are too cheap to take a card. I'm 23 and I never have cash it's just a big inconvenience.
