I stopped here for a drink on a Wednesday afternoon and am loving the vibes. I love the variety of beers and the options for all sorts of different kinds. There is also a lot of space both inside and outside, along with clean bathrooms. This is a really cool place, and I look forward to visiting it again in the near future. This place is awesome! I've been to their other location before, but first time here. I chose a flight and it was quite a bit of beer. Almost every beer I tried, I really liked! There were a couple I wasn't crazy about, but they have so many options that it's pretty much guaranteed you'll find something you like. I took my flight outside and sat at a long table overlooking the shops and area below. It was a great day, nice breeze was blowing, and I just enjoyed getting some fresh with delicious beers. We visited a few breweries on our trip to North Carolina and this one had to be our favorite. They had a great beer selection, friendly staff, and we just loved the vibes of the places. All of the tables had been painted by artists and it was just a really fun setting. It's on a second floor and is located right by a few different restaurants so that worked perfect for us as we just came right upstairs after having dinner. Super cool, and notably colorful, spot in Durham! This was a great stopping point on our way to Greensboro - we got a chance to stretch our legs and let our little one get some fresh air. Speaking of which, I have to bet the outdoor dining on an upstairs patio is almost as large as the indoor space here! They have a TON of beer options - almost too many to choose, but we were somehow able to. I love that they offer small pours at smaller prices so you can taste a few different brews in 1 visit. Absolutely loved the variety of snack options (seriously - Lunchables and beer is a killer combo)! They've got merchandise including the standards (tees, coozies, bottle openers) and non-standards, like games and craft kits. On this date, they had a promo to buy a craft kit and get a beer. Very cool idea! We loved our brief visit here & wouldn't hesitate to return! read more

I enjoy coming here with friends. The stuff on tap is always interesting and the craft items inside are so cute. Would love to see more pottery vendors. The bartenders are alway cool too but I will say last time we went was trivia night and we weren't participating but it lasted from like 7-like 8:30/9. A long time.. The most frustrating part was that even though we were sitting outside it was blasting the questions and it was hard to chat with friends. I wonder if lowering volume or doing it indoors for people who want to participate may be better? Either way I'll definitely be back but probably avoid game night unless I went only for that. read more

I'm so excited Gizmo has a location in Durham now! It's also in a great area with other local businesses and there's a parking lot! I tried the following beers: Hibiscus Lavender Ginger Beer, Renaissance Man (a pumpkin coffee ale) and a Black Stiletto Stout. They were all delicious! I also enjoyed the live music outside but wish it wasn't so loud because it was very difficult to hold conversations with people. read more

Pretty cool and chill place to hang out and drink some brews in South Durham. They are fairly new and pretty hidden but are located above BB's chicken in the University Hill area. You can sit outside or inside and I had a few of their "Dad Jokes" Pilsner which went down easily on a sultry Summer evening. On the outside porch area there is a nice view of the Durham "pickle" building (see pict). There are also QR codes on the tables where you can order some chicken sandwiches at BB's below and have it ready when you are finished downing a few brews! read more

Accidentally stumbled upon this place with a friend and it did not disappoint! They have lots of drink options (ciders and non alcoholic beverages available too!), games, snacks, as well as indoors and outdoor seating. After dinner at BBs my fiancé and I headed to Gizmos for a few beers. New places I always have to do a flight so I can get an idea of what beers a brewery has. Service was great and loved the seating. Being on a patio with the sun setting was top tier. Flight holder is so cute with the cog! We tried 6 different beers which gave us a good variety. Service was great and fast. Beers were good. Loved the new releases they had this month. Scovilliaus Maximus was delicious. Hoping that more Fall beers come soon, bc Oktoberfest wasn't a fave of mine. Still will come back to see what else is new. read more

We love coming to Gizmo Brew Works in Durham. We have a fun time there any night of the week and with any kind of company, including the bartenders! The variety and quality of beers is top notch and the space itself is inviting, laid back, and comfortable. You can enjoy the indoor space, games, and AC, or take it outside on the patio overlooking University Hill. You can actually catch a decent sunset from their rooftop patio! Another bonus is the neighboring restaurants/bars making it convenient to hop around for some variety without having to drive around town to worry about parking. We appreciate the rotating taps and tend to enjoy flights so we can taste more of the menu. We typically end up taking beer with us to go, too. Gizmo beer has become a staple in our house. We particularly like IPAs (they have a great selection) but there are plenty of other varieties as well as ciders and canned cocktails. I would be remiss not to mention the incredible service, hospitality, and entertainment from Zach and Eden. They made a lasting impression on us the first time we scoped this location out. We are so grateful for the memory - experiences like that are exactly what I have always loved about breweries and taprooms (but are not always guaranteed). Great brewery! This is the best brewery I've found in the area. They have an awesome selection of IPA (and milkshake IPA), stouts, sours, and other beers. I loved the earl gray latte beer, peppermint stout, and French toast beer. They also have wine, cider, seltzer, and non alcoholic beer on tap. It is dog friendly - even with dog toys and beds! - and the place itself is clean and cute. Also, the staff, Ansley & Cynthia, were really nice. They were friendly, let me sample different beers, and easy to talk to. It is on the second floor of the building & has a nice patio area too. Highly recommend! read more
