This cheese market is held on a town square and is quite the spectacle. Though it is still a working cheese market, much of it is for show for the tourists. There is an announcer who explains the entire process as you watch from the fence or up on the bleachers. Yep...bleachers. It's a popular thing!
You can purchase a booklet on the history and such or just do your research beforehand. It is nice to see how they did these types of things before modern technology. There are cheese girls who sell a couple different packages which are actually a pretty good deal. But if cheese isn't your thing, there are other food stalls on the edge to purchase a snack or meal. And don't forget to watch the canal next to the market to see a cheese boat (or two) moving up and down the water.
