And Victor of Hoosier Custom Cabinet Designs is as good as my father ever was. We hired him six years ago after seeing all the custom cabinets he built in his own home in Mount Dora. Our home was built in 1963 and our plan was to preserve the vintage look of the original cabinets in our bathroom and kitchen. Not only did Victor improve my original cabinet design, he added lots of ingenious storage areas in a very tight bathroom. The install was seamless and no one has ever guessed which cabinet is original and which is brand new. The only way to see the difference is when you open a drawer, as Victor utilized the new ball bearing drawer slides. There was a small issue with a router profile that Victor promptly and happily fixed. Fast forward to 2019...time to finally redo the kitchen. One problem, previous owners had removed a lower cabinet to install a dishwasher...something we don't use. Since the original cabinets were in place, solidly built and totally functional, we needed a cabinet made to EXACTLY replicate the existing cabinets. Victor to the rescue once again. He actually did several design consultations with me and offered the perfect cabinet drawer spacing and MATCHED to a 't' the 1963 cabinets. I did have to knock down the corners of the drawer fronts to match the old cabinets, but otherwise no problems. He and his installer Tony expertly shortened two upper cabinets in order for a taller refrigerator and over the stove microwave/vent. In an older home you never know what you're gonna run in to...but they both worked together and solved numerous issues so the redo would go smoothly. Sometimes I can be indecisive, but Victor was very patient when I changed my mind a couple of times on a minor issue. It all worked out wonderfully and we are THRILLED with the finished product. Topnotch craftsman. My dad would be proud.

My kitchen remodel project was fast, efficient, and accurate. We are so happy with it. His organizational skills and ability to lead the job with professionalism and expertise are second to none. He made sure to keep in touch with us and give us information every step of the way. The various contractors and DA employees we dealt with were all professional and friendly. One of the standouts was Ray who did our tile, backsplash, and various other jobs with the project. He always started the day with a smile and was friendly and approachable 100% of the time. I'd like to thank David, Ray, and the rest of DA Construction for a wonderful construction experience.

It took just a bit over the initial estimate to complete, but the work was super and we are so pleased with the final result. Now the bathroom is light, bright and modern. David Witt was responsive and quick to correct anything as the project proceeded. He worked with us on our plan and getting everything we want ordered quickly. The large tile we selected was a difficult install. Kris E and his tile guys really went above and beyond to create the beauty and flow in the pattern we envisioned. Two other guys also deserve mention. Chris was here just about everyday of the project from demolition, installation of accessories, vanity and painting. Chris was always so cheerful and respectful of us and our property. It was a pleasure to have Chris in our home. Phil was so calm and patient throughout, especially during a difficult fan/light install. He worked overtime to get the installation exactly right. Thank you to everyone associated with DA Construction on a beautiful reno and we even came in slightly under the estimated budget. Well done and we will see you for our next construction project!

I had known from the first contact with S&W that this would be the company that would be doing my Reno. Chelsea was my designer and what a fabulous job she did designing the perfect master bath. Robert was my project manager and was wonderful as well keeping me updated on what would be happening at each stage of the Reno. Anyone who entered my house was very professional, did the job they were assigned to complete. Job was completed in the time frame they had given me. I was also able to use plumbing fixtures from another source with no problems as well as the closet system. I highly recommend S&W as I will be using them for my next job coming up soon. On June 13, 2025, we signed a contract with them. Work began July 21, 2025. They finished on May 26, 2026. The contract stated that it would take 4 months, possibly 5, to complete the project. It took them 10 months to complete. There was a total of at least 15 weeks (a week being 5 consecutive working days, i.e., Wednesday through Tuesday) where NOTHING was done at the house. Prior to beginning demolition, they required a total of 60% of the contract to be paid. At the end of demolition and rough-in, which took 4 weeks, they required a total of 84% to be paid. Then they wanted payment for the project to be substantially complete and usable prior to the installation of the glass shower walls or the master being usable. That would have been 95% of the contract. The supervising contractor stated that he would not have the shower glass installed until they were paid. I sent his boss a copy of the Florida legal requirements for being substantially complete and usable, and I also hired an attorney. When it came time for the final walkthrough and final payment, they didn't want to provide us with the Affidavit of Contractor's Final Payment, which shows if there are any subcontractors who have released their lien and those that haven't been paid and how much they are owed prior to receiving the final payment, even though we had the right to have it according to our attorney. Then, when we received the document, it was a "waiver and release of lien upon progress payment."

I was considering hiring Wood Kitchen & Bath in Inverness for my total master bathroom remodeling…read more I met with their salesperson Frank at my house. He told me that he will prepare an estimate, but before the plumber would come out, I needed to pay a nonrefundable $500 for all the work he already had did. Having slow business, they skip the payment later and let the plumber come out anyways. I also wanted to replace my pocket door with old French doors of the same size as the original door. That was part of the original estimate. Another person came out with Frank and looked at my bathroom. They insisted that I would buy the vanity from their company as Frank told me that's where they make the money. Stupid comment from his side. The vanity they offered to me as a custom made would have been the same quality of the same item online, but $1,000 more expensive. So, I asked for an estimate without the vanity. They took it out but added $2,000 to the labor. When I asked why I was told it was for the French doors which were already in the original estimate, but because they would cause so much extra work. That's when I knew that they were trying to rip me off. My current contractor is putting those doors in for me for $300. When Frank from Wood Kitchen & Bath asked me why they did not get the job, I told him that he lost my trust! Something to consider hiring this company!

After seeing the results in our daughter's kitchen remodel we knew just where to go. We had a good idea of what we wanted to do and Bill was able to put that plan on paper along with great suggestions that we adopted. The company was easy to work with and weren't always hounding for $ at every milestone.
