I could have lost sight in that eye except for Dr Reisman seeing me right away without an appointment. Dr Reisman is an outstanding, competent, capable and trustworthy physician. Those who wait for a time past their appointment may experience that because Dr. Reisman is helping someone like myself. If I must wait past my appointment time I will remember whenI needed and received emergency help. Also, the office is clean, bright, well organized and all people there are friendly. I had initially gone elsewhere based on an advertisement that I had seen on tv. I was told by this other doctor that I was not a candidate for Lasik and I was very disappointed to hear that because I needed some sort of correction badly. I had gotten home and decided before I give up to get a second opinion. I chose Dr. Benedetto's office at random and it turned out to be an excellent choice. I should also note that I had my heart set on doing the surgery in Ecuador where I have another home and had a trustworthy doctor that could have done it for $1700. However, because the eyes are so vital and doctors in the US follow stricter guidelines, have better equipment, cleaner facilities, and are accountable to their patients, I came to my senses and realized that my eyes are too vital to take a chance with so I came to the realization that even though it cost more than double that amount it was a much smarter choice. So if you're thinking of getting some discount surgery in latin America, you should probably think long and hard on it. Anyways, I explained to them that this other doctor said I was not a good candidate and asked what they thought. They ran a number of tests on me that day and said things look good but that I should come back and do these tests again next week just to confirm. They spent ALOT of time examining me and it was beyond clear that they weren't about to tell me what I wanted to hear just to get some money out of me. I am very confident that they have my best interests at heart and are very honest people. It was at that point that I knew this was the place for me. In regards to the office, it is new, inviting, appealing to the eye, and the staff are very friendly. The Lasik equipment they use, I had come to learn, is the newest technology available and fully bladeless. The surgery was quick and painless. I had a little more discomfort than most people get on the evening of my surgery but in the morning I was as fresh as a daisy. Even though all of the warnings and literature state that many people get a "foreign object sensation" in the eye and frequent dryness or some other symptoms, I did not and still do not experience any of that whatsoever. To wrap it up, I am very happy with my decision to go with Dr. Benedetto and cannot think of a single bad thing to say about these folks.

I waited some more, then left a note for the doctor saying it was 1 pm and I was leaving. Not the first time I waited for over an hour here. They overbook which makes me feel like I am just a billing event and not a patient. Dr Levey always seems rushed so I figured the exam would be too. Waited until today to post this to see if the doctor would call and apologize. Of course that did not happen. I would not have posted this if she did. I understand that people make mistakes, but they need to own it. Suggestion for the doctor, have them print your appointments for the day, plan your time accordingly (maybe have them book your time so you are not so rushed), cross them off when you see them. Maybe then you would have realized, you missed me. Your room light system obviously does not work. Especially when your staff is distracted by the lunch menu. If you want more feedback, call me. He had so many great reviews that my husband and I decided to go and meet with him even-though we live one hour away. We felt that with so many amazing reviews, we needed to meet with him and decide for ourselves if this is "our" doctor. Making the decision to have cataract surgery was no easy decision. I thought about long and hard. However, since I found that my vision was increasingly getting worse and everything was getting blurrier, to the point that I couldn't see clearly out of my right eye because when I was watching TV, for example, it was in "double vision". After meeting with him, both my husband and I found him to be very knowledgeable, informative, professional and had a wonderful bed side manner. He diagnosed me to have two cataracts, one in each eye. He scheduled me for both surgeries one month apart starting with the worst eye first. Taking a leap of faith, I decided to have cataract surgery and chose Dr. Medford as my surgeon. I was extremely nervous on the day of surgery, but while the nurse was prepping me, Dr. Medford came in to see me and saw that I was quite anxious. He then went on and reassured me with his kind words telling me that he's performed this procedure many times and to try and relax. The surgery was textbook perfect. When I went in for my follow up visit the next day, he told me that it went very well and gave me further instructions on how to continue taking care of the eye so it heals perfectly. I then saw him again one week later, at which point he evaluated me and recommended that I wait to operate on the other cataract because in his words "it was necessary yet". I really appreciated the honesty and care. I highly recommend Dr. David Medford, not only because he is he an amazing surgeon, a kind person, but a very honest doctor as well. It's a win-win.
