I went to Dr. Pinke years ago, very concerned about my vision problems in my right eye. This "Doctor" put me down constantly, told me I was wasting his time, told me I was a "bored younger guy" with too much time on my hands. Legitimately yelled at me in his office. I've been going to this office for years and never had any issues with the doctor, staff or billing. I see them for an annual exam every year and have never gotten any bill with my insurance. This year, because they added a diagnosis for an issue that I have not had in 3 years, I was billed $50. I called my insurance company first, to determine what the issue was with my bill and was told that a diagnosis code was added that is not included in my annual exam. I was only there for an annual exam and was not having any issues with my eyes. When I called and spoke to the woman in billing, she was very rude and told me that I can call my insurance company, and do a 3-way call, so they can both tell me that I am wrong. I really did not appreciate being spoken down to in that manner. They have lost 2 patients now, as neither I nor my husband will be coming back to this office. read more

After calling in and getting someone to open the door they admitted my wife and refused me entry. Although I liked Dr. Wong, they're covid policy has led to indifference and poor customer communication. EXTREMELY rude person on the phone!! She hung up on me. When I called back, I got a different girl named Anna. Polite enough.......however, my wife and I will NEVER go back to this place again. I should have made an appointment to have my head examined instead of an eye exam. I totally forgot that this disrespectful office OVER BOOKS!! Kept my wife waiting first appointment, an hour and 5 minutes.....next appointment, an hour and 20 minutes!! Both times staff said doc "had an emergency". The only emergency this doctor has is OVER BOOKING!!! My appointment today......an hour and 10 minutes. I left. VERY DISRESPECTFUL DOCTOR that runs his business this way and could care less about his patients!! I have been going to Dr Pinke for probably 15 years due to previously having radial keratotamy surgery (before Lasik was invented) and having glaucoma. He did my cataract surgeries which were complicated by the previous rk surgery. Before the surgery he explained what he would need to do. During the cataract surgeries, he kept me informed of what he was doing. While he does not have the best "bedside manner", he knows his stuff and I would not want anyone else working on my eyes. When I ask questions, he answers them in a way I can understand. One day when there was an issue with a patient before me, in addition to the staff letting me know what had happened Dr Pinke came in and let me know that he had not forgotten that I was waiting. If you want a doctor explaining what he is doing, you just need to let him know. read more

.Rude staff Dr Wang was great no problems with her its the staff that is terrible. First off it was 85 degrees outside and the office was hot no A/C. After entering Dr's office I was asked to put on a mask on top of my other mask???? really???? So of course I started to sweat so I was fidgeting to get comfortable and the rude nurse said no no and proceeded to put a piece of tape on top of my nose. I was not happy at the nurses bedside manor so I asked for a new nurse. The new nurse said that they put the tape on so the equipment does not fog up. BS. if that was true then why did she only put on tape after I was sweating and became fidgety???? Rude. They proceeded with exam and put drops in my eyes which is routine and I was told they would give me glasses after exam to help me see. NOT, they just gave me diagnosis and walked me out back door, nothing. STAY AWAY FROM RUDE OFFICE......... read more

I visited Dr. Pinke's office twice and both times he was abrasive & condescending. I switched and it seems his demeanor is common knowledge to other Ophthalmologist. He doesn't seem to grasp that patients can be edumacated. OK, some may be Hee Haw rejects but they may just be having a caffeine withdrawal day. read more

Had an eye exam a few weeks ago. Dr. Pinke is knowledgeable and thourough. It is always comforting to know that he is in charge of my eyecare. I went to this doctor/office via Mountain Lakes Eye Center in Denville (also part of Roxbury Eye Center PC in Mt Arlington) based on a referral from my primary care physician for a same day visit in late June and was billed in mid July. Dr. Pinke seemed knowledgeable enough but I agree with the other reviewers about being abrasive/condescending. I am used to medical professionals telling me what they will do before they do it. I think the exam itself would have been similar with most other medical professionals but the anxiety/stress would be less than what I experienced with Dr. Pinke because I would know what is happening before it happened, ie...puff of air being shot in your eye was unexpected. All in all, he appears to know what he is doing as a medical professional. However, I would not choose to go to him again because there are doctors who have the same knowledge but can provide me with a patient experience. Based on this, I would give him 2 stars. The primary reason for 1 star overall is more because their billing department (thru Roxbury Eye Center) leaves a lot to be desired. I called for an appointment and they were able to give me a same day appointment but when I received my bill, there was a "Emerg Serv InOffice Dur RegHrs" charge for $50. When I made the appointment originally, I was not made aware of this additional fee so I disputed it. The bill shows a $250 ($200 eye exam + $50 emerg serv fee) and then an insurance adjustment for $114.58. I contended that I should be owing $85.42 (difference between the $200 fee and what insurance paid) but their claim is that I owe $135.42 because the $50 fee is not included. This charge is deceptive but the way it is written in the invoice/bill is also confusing. Billing department said they would send an updated bill but the amount I owed was the same. I waited for an updated bill and instead, I rec'd a note in mid September saying that "we will begin collection agency proceedings if a payment on your account balance is not received in this office by October 15, 2017." This seemed pretty strong, considering that I was trying to work with them. Ultimately, I paid the additional $50 because they would otherwise send it to a collection agency and potentially effect my credit rating. It is not worth the headache for me to try to fight them on it. But I hope this review helps fellow yelpers to avoid this potential headache/fee. If you plan to use this doctor, I strongly recommend asking for all fees upfront when scheduling the appointment. read more

Saw Dr. Pinke and Roxbury Eye Center today for the first time. My husband was experiencing blurred vision. Turned out he has glaucoma and a cataract. It was a jolt to hear that, but everyone was so amazing and accommodating that it made it much easier to handle than it could have been. From Lauren at the front desk who welcomed us, to Erin who did his vision testing, to Fernanda (sp?) who worked as Dr. Pinke's right hand during the exam and Cara who told us everything we needed to know, slowly explaining what was going to happen, walked us through the pre-op requirements and our financial obligation and gave us reading material geared to help us to get ready for the surgery, we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. In an environment where medical appointment is usually a quick in-and-out visit, it was refreshing to find a practitioner like Dr. Pinke, who took the time to make sure my husband and I understood the diagnosis and explained what his options are. I am so impressed with Dr. Pinke and the staff and highly recommend this practice. The office is pleasing, clean and comfortable and we didn't have to wait more than just a few minutes to be seen. It's not like that in most places any more and I am grateful for this experience. read more

Dr. Pinke has been rated multiple times as one of the best Opthamologists in New Jersey. I have Keratoconus and he has all the latest equipment to track my condition. And unlike all the $-focused opthamologists and optometrists out there I've deatl with over the years (some even of fame and note) trying to push hard contact lenses and unnecessary out-of-pocket procedures, Dr. Pinke takes a less invasive and practical but thorough approach. He is realistic and down to earth - and VERY popular based on his two offices and appointment schedule. He also refracts me (for glasses) extremely well. I highly recommend for eye care to go with an M.D. physician, and Dr. Pinke has been my local guy for 8 years running. read more

Dr Pink has been my doctor for a few years and I like him as my doctor but every time you go the wait time in the office is HORRIBLE! The last time I went I was there 2 hours for my apt... the norm is about 1 hour to 1 1/2hrs.. but this time it was just too much.
