The chai latte was good but how could it not be, it was powdered David Rio. The brunch menu was pretty balanced and filling but it was JUST ok. I loved the ginger marmalade and the local dark rye bread together though. The interiors was great, very classy yet homey, felt like I could stay inside for hours.
When my vegan and gluten-intolerant friend suggested brunch here, my curiousity was definitely piqued. Going out to eat with him can be a difficult affair so we usually cook food ourselves. Although it looks like a regular coffee shop from outside, apparently almost everything served from pastry to brunch is vegan! The interior looks hip with high ceilings and huge windows. Too bad there isn't much to look at besides trash sitting outside an apartment. I started with an ice coffee (36 dkk) since it was such a warm morning. I requested it with soymilk and without syrup, which didn't cost any extra. Although I was sitting in the little room up the very narrow steps, the girl behind the counter brought my coffee over; it was refreshing and tasted fine. After my friends arrived, we all ordered the vegan brunch plate (99 dkk). Normally it comes with vegan "cheese" but they were out that day. Instead we got two spreads which I actually preferred, one beetroot and one hummus. Besides that it comes with scrambled tofu, arugula, soy yogurt with muesli and a strawberry, vegan "butter", a small pancake, a small roll, two small slices of seedy bread, some sort of ginger marmalade, and fresh fruit. The friend mentioned in the beginning of my review got a plate without muesli or the roll but apparently the other two small slices were gluten-free. Bri has a peanut allergy and the employees were happy to double-check if there were peanuts in anything. Everything was delicious, especially the spreads. I hope they will make that a regular option instead of the "cheese." Also the assorted fruits were fresh and well-ripened. I especially liked the half of passionfruit and the pineapple slices which were perfectly sweet. A lot of times you just get a slice of soggy melon and some soft grapes at other brunch places, which I hate. For a vegan brunch, this was great. I wish they had some other options though, like a "dirty brunch" with added fried potatoes and mushrooms versus this clean one. The service was good and the sandwich options as well as pastries tempted me, so I'd like to come back to try some other stuff. They also have free wifi and several outlets next to chairs so you can bring your laptop and get some work done. read more
Conveniently located in Vesterbro, Kaffestuen was a great place to catch a light lunch. They have several vegan options, and I opted for a sandwich. The ingredients were all very fresh and the sandwich hit the spot. We also took some dessert to go, which was quite delicious. With their corner location (and outdoor seating), this is a fun place to watch people walk or cycle by. read more

Gave the vegan breakfast a try. It was very filling, but not particularly memorable - a collection of various disjoint breakfast items on a plate. I'm from CA so my standard for fresh fruit and fresh squeezed OJ is very high. There are many other breakfast places to try around Frederiksberg if your time is limited. read more

Owner was nice. This cafe was right on the corner and by my apartment for the summer. The first time was a bit slow as far as serving my order. It's a cozy place to hang out. read more

I like the place, but wouldn't recommend it if you're in hurry. It took some time for my coffee to arrive to my table & make it double for the sandwich. Otherwise the place itself is cozy, very polite barista. The menu on the wall gave me headache. It's like puzzle.... It took some time for me to decode it. If you"re hungry you'll definitely find some food in here. The coffee is ok, but nothing special. The place is cosy and with free wifi.. read more
Clearly I ate here last week with Mina and another friend who is vegan and gluten-free. I myself am vegetarian with a few allergies thrown in for good measure. It was such a pleasure to be able to eat out with our friend as it is an absolute battle to find places that serve, or are willing to serve, vegan gluten-free food. It is such a refreshing change to find a place who have no problem whatsoever in accommodating, not just accommodating, but serving already, food that all of us could eat. This place definitely knows a thing or two about service, my expectations were not only met, but exceeded. I ordered the vegan brunch plate, after they had checked that there were no peanuts in anything for me, and when it came it was lovely. The best scrambled tofu that I have ever had, easily. I can't help but agree with Mina about a dirty brunch with some hash potatoes being a good idea though. Also, big plus for being able to get beetroot in your juice! As for the interiors, it was homely, but those stairs up to the upper niche are a bit steep and were certainly difficult to traverse on the way down when somebody was sitting on one making the handrail out of reach. read more

Unfortunately the vegan brunch was sold out. The burger wasn't the best but the mushroom truffle sandwich was really good. If you go there you need time since the service is quite slow. read more
