Why is the woman's locker room toilet seats ALWAYS brown around the rims with build up???and the large beds in the expensive private cabanas with the soaking tubs stained brown with trapped mold??? Also our tub had a huge crack in it leaking lol. This place is new ?? Margaritas are watered down with sparkling water & overpriced... cold plunge tubs always have mysterious debris. What an amazing oasis in the desert! The various pools have different water temperatures from 85°-110°! The cold plunge was 36°-38° and so invigorating even though I could only emerge myself for 90 seconds or so it was a great experience. The activity area needs a little maintenance we were still able to play all the games fairly well. The food is definitely cafeteria style food with the exception of the frybread which is cooked to order and delicious btw. The locker rooms needs some tlc but the suitemate is amazing!!! Why do all locker rooms at water parks not have these? They have several options for staying the night from 55ft rv spaces to TeePees there is an option for every budget. They're going for upscale, but fail to deliver. Pro tip: bring your own food, something, anything. And read the fine print as cancellation and change policy is extremely harsh! The positives were the large outdoor pool area, saunas, and private baths overlooking the river, albeit the latter weren't hot enough. There's zero sun cover, so they're trying to get you to rent the very expensive cabanas. Okay, Vegas does the same right, but these cabanas are low-end bench seating style and two lounge chairs. So you're paying for shade and a table. The rooms feel new, but lack amenities and touches for the price you pay. The clothesline in the shower wasn't long enough, so it was useless. The non-wavering 10:00 a.m. checkout time for the price you pay is silly. Where they fall waaaaay short is with food and drink! The $18 breakfast buffet is a joke. Dinner options are low quality chicken fingers and unhealthy crap options. Just because the staff is used to eating this garbage daily doesn't mean tourists who spent $$$ are okay with it. $16 cocktails, okay fine. Reddi-Wip knock off, not fine. The dining facility is severely underwhelming. The touted free coffee during certain hours is worse than a gas station mini mart. Ah, you maybe thinking I have overly exquisite taste and high standards. Well, the resort is trying to give off this vibe, I'm fine with low grade and low price, but not with low grade and high price. There was no shampoo or body wash in the spacious men's shower! The spinner to dry your swimsuit was broken. It felt like a bring-your-own community locker room. Nickel and dime everywhere, e.g., wanna play mini golf, well that's $5 a ball. The staff - except one guy at the check-in booth - were VERY friendly! Speaking of which, there is not "front desk", concierge, or security, it all goes through the drive-up booth. If you're unable to enter your room because the key pad doesn't work, it's gonna be a hassle. In the end if they build a casino then guests may not care, but it would still fall short of Spirit Mountain and Ilani. For now, you'll likely feel ripped off (see other reviews.) read more

We took our kids here on a day trip from Portland. Left Portland around 9am and arrived around 11am when they open. We spent the next 6 hours enjoying the different pools, food and mini golf! My kids especially loved the lazy river! Left around 5pm and returned to Portland around 7pm. It was a great day trip and I can't wait to return with friends and family. Such a hidden gem. Upon posting pictures on social media I had multiple people comment that they have been meaning to make the trip to Kah-Nee-Ta and I'd be more than happy to join them! Went there for a day trip with 4 12-15 yr old's to chill at the pool. Pool was mildly crowded even for a week day. I would estimate it's a mad house on the weekends. I would recommend taking kids any where from 5-10 yrs of age to the pools... it would keep them entertained for a big portion of the day.. our kids were a little old for it. The cool riverfront cabana's with the private pool would be cool if you were there with your honey.. but, you would be pretty far away if you're trying to keep an eye on your kids. I almost booked one but, I was glad I didn't because they felt too far and secluded.. plus we were there with a mom's group and our sons. One person was ahead of me in the bar/restaurant area and I waited at least 10 minutes before I was helped, I wasn't in a hurry so, it didn't matter and it was early. However, if it was lunch time and I was trying to get my order in.. a 10-15 min wait would feel like a long time. I think the cashier/server was new and learning. $15 mimosa... $10 champs w/o OJ. Prices were def high for any beverage and food. We packed a lunch and went and had a picnic outside. We were allowed to leave and then come back in. We called ahead and were told we could bring in water - they didn't check any of our bags, so we could have easily brought in a few items. I did like the big party cabana.. seemed like it would hold around 10-15.. if you had a group with kids.. that seemed like a great option.. there was a fridge and seating. I would recommend reserving lounges with the attached umbrella for shade.. there is little shade unless you pay a little more for any of the reservable chairs. We got there when it opened, used the restroom - no toilet paper in my stall. Place could use a good power wash around the outdoor tables. I'm giving this a detailed review because these were all the questions and things I wondered about before we went. I did check out the tee pee area.. I thought it would have been cool to stay there.. They were all pretty close and if you did stay it would have been for the novelty of it. You have to literally pack in everything and pack it out. Renovated and Updated, been coming here for 20+ years, so happy Kahneeta is back and open! They reopened in July after being closed for a few years; did some improvements, and it is nice, but I worry they made the pools smaller. Opens at 11am-7pm, and if you are a hotel guest, you get the pool till 10pm! It was very busy for a Friday, and very packed in the pools to the point where we just sunbathe instead. Some changes: They took out the slides, put in a lazy river, and cut the big pool into three. Two pools were super warm mineral water, and the main one was packed. The lazy river was also nearly standing only cause how full. They also have a volleyball / basketball set up in the middle of the lazy river, and can't tell you how many times we are ducking to avoid being smacked by the missed-shots. Very annoying and not a very 'lazy' time. They have a 'restaurant' now, a bar area, and also a snack bar by the pool, but I didn't really see any 'snacks', just drinks. You can always bring your food from the restaurant to your chairs. There are cabanas facing the pool, along with some facing the river. There is also a cold plunge. I saw a brief 'market' out in front where locals sell their handmade merch. The entry is right at the parking lot, can cause a back up, but it works for now. Parking was free (use to be $5?). Get there early as the parking lot filled up quick! There is also still horse back riding! They added a river float- 3 mile / 2 hour float down their river. It was actually pretty fun. You never knew where the water was going to take you and we brought back some friendly spiders for the ride! A little misleading for the 2-person cabana reservation. Pretty much two lawn chairs with a cover over it. BUT, It was worth the $59 because of the crowds and heat. It was nice to have our personal space- and knowing the situation, we will plan better. I recently stayed in the hotel and was seriously disappointed by what was marketed as a "resort" with a "Wellness Center." For the price we paid, it felt more like a run-down motel with zero hospitality, multiple safety issues, and some wild surprises (literally). First off, there's no proper check-in. When you arrive, you're asked for your name and room number at a security gate, and they hand you a packet with some basic info. No front desk, no greeting, nothing. The packet didn't even tell us the room doors don't lock automatically, you have to manually press any button on the keypad to lock them. That's a major safety concern and should be explained upfront. The rooms were outdated and in terrible condition. Broken fixtures, worn furniture, and cheap finishes made it feel more like a budget motel than a resort. For what they charge, the quality is way below what you'd expect. At night, most of the exterior lights weren't working, so it was pitch-black outside. We couldn't even see the keypad to unlock our room once we figured out to actually lock them, and several of us tripped down stairs that were totally invisible in the dark. Dangerous and frustrating. The ice machine had been broken for months, and the only place to get ice was at the restaurant. We had to walk all the way over there anytime we needed more, and keep in mind, the restaurant closed at 10 PM. After hours, if you wanted ice, you were out of luck. This felt like such an inconvenience, especially for a place charging premium rates. Bingo was supposed to start at 7 PM, according to the packet, but when we arrived, it had already been going for an hour. The host told us we couldn't join and to try again tomorrow at the "correct" time. Super disorganized. The only restaurant served bland cafeteria food at crazy-high prices. It was nothing like what you'd expect at a "wellness" resort -- more like something you'd find in a budget motel. No fresh or thoughtful ingredients. Despite calling ahead to book spa services, no one ever answered the phone or returned our voicemails. For a place promoting itself as a "Wellness Center," the lack of any actual wellness services is appalling. And the wild horses... oh boy. There are wild horses roaming the property, which sounds romantic until you realize their poop is everywhere. We couldn't walk anywhere without stepping around piles of it. It's one thing to have nature, but having to dodge horse waste everywhere felt more like a nuisance than a "charming" feature. Oh, and they even charge hotel guests for pool towels. Seriously? For the amount of money you're paying, this feels petty and unprofessional. In summary, Kah-Nee-Ta needs a serious overhaul. Lack of basic customer service, poor maintenance, safety concerns, wild horse poop everywhere, and overpriced everything made this a totally disappointing stay. Until they make some serious improvements, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. read more

Very disappointed. If I could give 0 stars I would. Used to come here a lot when the hotel on the hill was open. It was quiet and overlooked the valley. You'd get a full breakfast, paper, and coffee. The service staff was always rude, like you were interrupting their day. We let it go since we liked the place. Last January we reserved a room for 3 nights in March. Twice the cost and at the Motel 6 style building by the pool. A few days after booking, an issue arose where we couldn't go. They charged us $150 to cancel the reservation, literally three days later for a stay 2 months out. I tried appealing to the manager. I could hear the apathy in her voice as she said "it's the policy". So naturally, I wrote a review, very similar to the above. A day after the review appeared online, we got an email from them stating that if we took down the review they'd give us the $150 back. I said sure and removed it. Time passed. We would check back now and then to skeptically inquire about the money. Different excuses every time... The accounting department (most likely Karen at the next desk) needs to approve it. The funds have been initiated and will be deposited in 7 days. Nope. The fraud department (Larry at the other desk) is reviewing it. Your funds have been deposited. Not so much. Finally, "We just learned that the $150 was never taken from you. It's been over 30 days now. Have a good day". This was after six weeks of flat out lying. This is the type of management that runs the place. No ethics. No customer service. So everyone, please read the reviews. It's abundantly clear that excrement clearly runs downhill here. Your money will be better spent getting a VRBO at the coast or at Sunriver, which is where we ended up at half the cost. And you can actually cancel outside a month. read more

I had my bachelorette party here (we stayed in the tepees) and it was amazing! All the staff were so sweet and congratulating me. Derek the GM was very accommodating, our float guides Jamon and Noah were so fun. Staying in the teepees were so convenient and able to just walk to pools everyday. There was community grill that was used, there are plugs ins by the bathroom, and the bathrooms were clean. The cold plunge is awesome, the bartender was super nice! Overall 10/10, thanks Derek and the employees at Kahneeta! We need to support Kahneeta and be kind, they have just reopened and if we want them to stay open we need to give them grace and time. This provides jobs to people that live here and the younger generation job experience. I disagree with all the negative comments. read more

Really disappointed. Booked a weekend with my teen daughter and her friend and just returned last week. When I initially booked this trip last month I put a lot of thought and effort into deciding where to travel and spend a couple days away. One of the deciding factors of Kahneeta was the menu. I loved the "wellness" atmosphere that the website promoted and was looking forward to the various healthy and Native American inspired items they had. Upon arrival, we learned that none of those items are available any longer and instead we ate high school cafeteria quality food. It's awful. And expensive. They apparently discontinued the wellness menu "last month" but when I looked at their FaceBook page they were advertising those items as recently as 2 weeks ago, so they are also liars. And their "restaurant" is far from that. It's an outdated cafeteria. They should have spent time and money upgrading this as well. I was equally disappointed in the experience I had when I initially booked the reservation. The woman who answered the phone and "helped" me make the reservation was incredibly rude and acted like I was bothering her. And she made it very clear that I needed to read the rental contract completely before signing and returning it because there's no cancellations and no refunds of any kind. Why, then, is it OK for them to make changes to the menu without at least informing me that the menu was changed and giving me an opportunity to decide whether I wanted to stay there or not? When trying to get some water for my kids in the vending machine at night, I had to use the flashlight on my phone because none of the lights on the outside of the hotel or the stairwells were working. I damn near fell down the stairs. And the vending machine didn't even work. We did the river adventure, and after 2+ hours of floating downstream we sat there for 25 minutes in the dirt and heat waiting for the van to pick us up. Luckily, a random person drove by and saw us stranded there and must have told them, because 10 minutes later the van pulled up apologizing because "no one told me there were more floaters." I called the resort 10 times during our 25 minute wait for the van and no one answered. This is absolutely unacceptable. The price I paid for two overnights at this "resort" is not reflective of the quality experience we received and it's incredibly disappointing. I will not be returning. And the "resort" doesn't care because I went to guest services to complain to the manager and no one returned my call and no one responded to the email I sent either. This is glamping, at best. The sun and pool are fine, so bring your own food and just buy a day pass. Stay overnight in Madras at a hotel that gives you free breakfast in the morning because the $19 per PAPER plate I spent on previously frozen pancakes was disgusting. read more

I was ecstatic to learn that Kah-nee-ta re-opened and had to get there. This is always been a favorite destination of my family and I. So I grabbed three girlfriends and we made it a girls day. Headed up and over the mountain and enjoyed the beautiful desert landscape that the Warm Springs area provides. A day pass is $29 if you purchase it online ahead of time. This includes all the pools from 11 AM to 7 PM, Frisbee Golf Tennis Courts Basketball Courts Sand Volleyball Courts Horseshoes Courts Bocce Ball Courts Corn Hole Courts Natural Playground Area for all ages Pickleball Courts Putt Putt Golf Hiking Trails Biking Trails Walking Trails Parking was easy and there seems to be plenty of it. It's free. The check-in process was a bit slow even though we had purchased our passes online prior (maybe they just need practice). We each paid another $27 for a lounge chair/pad with a retractable top. But we soon found out that they put these chairs on the wrong side of the pool so the retractable cover did not shade your face from the sun. These chairs need to be moved to the other side of the pool. Since it just opened it was pretty crowded and there were plenty of kids that didn't seem to have supervision. They were in all the pools not just the kid pools which needs to be corrected. we watch one little girl wander around with no supervision for long periods of time which was a bit scary. The Lifeguards were really great keeping things in line. One of the items that needs to be corrected is the basketball hoop in the middle of the lazy river. They are using a hard basketball for this and two women in our party got hit in the side of the head with it amongst others. Everybody kept telling the lifeguards but they kept using the same ball. They should be using one of the softballs like the ones they have for volleyball or get rid of the basketball hoop... It really isn't needed. The restaurant on site was delicious and had quite a selection of salads, sandwiches, wraps, pizzas etc. There are ice water stations throughout the resort if you look at the map. You can bring in an empty metal water bottle but you cannot bring in food and other drink. We went and looked at the rental cabanas and they are very nice. Most have their own refrigerator, cover from the sun, tub, table etc. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy and there was no one on site cleaning them during the day. The soap dispensers, paper towels and toilet paper were out and almost all of the locations of the women's restroom by the time we left at 6:30 PM. It was an unsanitary nightmare! Someone needs to correct this and correct this soon there should be somebody stationed in this restroom all day long it's that big. All in all it seemed like there were not enough people working and the ones that were mostly teens/young people and we never once saw a manager. It was a bit of an unorganized mess and I'm gonna go ahead and chalk it up to they just opened. I will be back and hopefully things will be better next time or the stars are coming down. We decided to enjoy a weekend getaway at Kah-Nee-Ta for my daughter's bachelorette celebration and they did not disappoint!! The staff were absolutely amazing and the general manager Derek went above and beyond to make it a very memorable trip. The community barbecue area that is set up with propane and cooking utensils was a nice surprise, free showers, great food (definitely try the huckleberry fry bread), and the nighttime vibe is so relaxing. Only thing keeping me from rating 5 stars is just a few minor issues around the quality of the room. We came during the week for just a couple days. Staff seemed to be small during this time but we were always waited on quickly at the bar/restaurant. We actually enjoyed the food & drink on site. The pool area was always clean. This was our second stay in the RV park and it was delightful. Our first visit was marred by road construction noise and dust all day in the RV part. They offered to comp us on another stay and we took them up on it. We were there both times in off season (good discounts) so not many guests. The RV park was quiet this time and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We like that the overnight guests have sole access to the pool area in the morning and evening. Soaking in the morning was delightful with not so many people around. I agree with others that the food offerings could have been much better altho the fry bread and nachos were really good - albeit not very healthy. Both times we were there the bathrooms were nice and clean and warm. Maybe the hotel is different, but we didn't have to pay for towels as another review stated (maybe they were actually day use folks?) . We only ran into friendly staff. It's not close enough that we would go their every year, but we will likely go again in a few years after they do more of their planned upgrades. read more

This place looks more like it's desperately ready for a renovation rather than a place that's already had one. Website is seriously lacking in information, very pertinent information. And what little you find seems completely contradictory to what reality is. I've never been here so I WAS super excited to check it out, plus I'd never stayed in a teepee before so I thought that would be fun. I could not have been more wrong. I feel like many of the reviews provide a lot of details that we definitely experienced. You check in at the gate and just kind of figure out where to go. Then we had to find our teepee which we expected to be marked better. We get there and it clearly has not been cleaned. There were a couple of lounge chairs with pads and dirty blankets on the ground. Old food and such also on the ground and disgusting smelly garbage in the trash can with no liner (they later left a liner outside for us - how nice, now I'm housekeeping). Signage here is terrible and directions worse. Thankfully there weren't people up in the social tents because what I didn't know when I booked was that I was right next to 2 of them (not on the map). No info on getting a fire pit. Employees here are not interested in dealing with customers (they'll dodge you) or really working (they often seem to be standing around chatting). We were able to use the 2 main pools in the early morning otherwise it's wall to wall people & small kids in the pools that are for adults only). Everything on the map is out of scale. The "lazy river" is tiny, they expect you to use noodles instead of tubes for making sure it won't be lazy (noodles all have bites out of them). It wasn't ever going to be relaxing though because they have volleyball and basketball in the middle so kids are constantly knocking it into the river so then they're jumping in and out to get it. If it were busy people would get hit constantly, but it wasn't and they were lucky we only got splashed. It's super rundown. Towel machines, vending machines, really nothing seems to work around here. Cold plunge was too small to really get in to. Only ones in the game area which had one ping pong ball and a few paddles, same with pickle ball. Wanted to play mini golf but almost all the clubs were for kids. There weren't many people out there and people had to share standard clubs since there were only a couple. Honestly, there's nothing cool or fun about this place. I would suggest only coming for day use and only if you want to be in a family environment because it's definitely not for adults anymore. The homeless guy creepily sitting in the dark by the women's restroom (don't worry, he slept in the men's though). I had 2 days booked but we left before checkout after one night. I would rather waste my money than waste my time here. I cannot stress it enough that you should not come here, but if you do just come for the day and although they say no outside food or drinks we saw easily half the people with their own stuff. One thing I thought was cool that every place should have is the lounge chairs with a cover. It wasn't sunny like that to care, but I've been places where those would've been handy. Also the booking process was disjointed. It seems ridiculous to have to rent a room AND pay for water entry as well, but if you're going to be that shameless at least get things up to date so you purchase together. Visited recently and if I could give zero stars I would. Upon arrival security was polite and so were the girls for check in. Went to our camp site which was nice and clean. Pools were decent, plunge pool was the best part of the place. That's where it ends. Walking along path, an older white male who was clearly a worker on a golf cart was using the r word to describe other employees to another male. He didn't even try to hide his disdain for other coworkers calling them dumb, useless, and methheads. Then went on to complain that the boss is never there. That was shocking to say the least. We were clearly standing there taking pictures. This place is touted as a wellness retreat and prices reflect that but they are anything but that. The restaurant does not serve anything healthy. The chicken was slimy and clearly frozen. Vegetables for my salad were gross wilted and the tomatoes were bad. left and got groceries the food was so bad. Bathrooms by the pool were atrocious and lacked any kind of cleaning. Day 2 of my stay campers were yelling in employees faces, although employees handled it well, the campers did not and made everyone else uncomfortable. If you're looking for wellness of any kind this place isn't it. I like to end all reviews with something good....The walking paths are beautiful. The trees on property are starting to bloom and I loved it. The river is gorgeous and I just know rafting down that river would of been a blast. I purchased the day pass at Kahneeta, for $40-something dollars, this granted me access to their pool area. 1 smaller kids hot tub, 1 small lazy river wrapping around the pool, 1 kids pool with small water slide and splash accessories up, followed by a pool with a volleyball net, then a large pool, followed by 2 hot tubs, one is 102 degrees the other 104. They also have a small food cart selling Mexican food, I got steak tacos (5 for $20 but tacos came with 2 small tortillas each) and ceviche ($20-something dollars, for plenty of ceviche) this was enough to split with my friend and it was delicious, menu includes a number of other good looking items. The views are beautiful, dessert mountains. There are plenty of complementary wooden lounge chairs, the setting was very busy, family friendly, lots of families with kids playing in the pools together. These pools are too busy to swim laps in. The 104 degree hot tub was nice, the 102 degree one is a good option for someone who prefers lower heat, I would not consider this a luxury spa / relaxation thermal experience environment, I think the space would be enhanced if there was a hotter hot tub cold plunge and sauna area for adults, but there is not. My other critique is that from the main pool area there is not river view, however you can purchase a cabana spot by the river. You can see the river as you come and go. Outside the pool area there's plenty to do, if you stay at the resort you may stay in a teepee, and they have many outdoor activities listed on the website. even just for a day trip the road approaching the location has wild horses and cows which are fun to view on the way to and from Kahneeta. While I will opt for another more luxurious spa option if I am looking for a spa/thermal experience next time, I would like to come back for a longer stay and try some of their outdoor activities such as the river float and horse back riding, and I'll still revisit the pool area for a casual dip, lounge, and taco snack! Let's just say " NO COMMUNICATION "! We booked two nights, $600.00!!! Our issue was 2 cars and they would only grant us one parking pass. They suggest we park our other car in a non secure lot .25 miles from hotel. We would love to bring our kids back to stay but the experience was such a turn off. First off we reserved a Tent , when we got there they asked if we had brought our beds and bedding , because the tents were rustic ... they have NOTHING !! We found nothing on website that says this , although we were told it says so. We decided to rent a room , which is WAY OVERPRICED, for what you get . You only get access to pools , and only 2 hours in AM for resort guests only !! EVERYTHING else they charge for . We had issues with our door to our room and it took almost 2 hours to figure it out . Then Maintenance man showed up at our room to change batteries in door at like 8pm , we were already in our PJs. I work at a resort and spa , and at least we Have many activities that are free for guests . Also we could not room charge from the restaurant on site , which we were told by staff that we could. Not a good experience and would not recommend ! I would suggest later hours at night for resort guests and Mayo free or heavy discounts on tubs and cabanas for guest of resort. read more

This resort has much to offer people of all ages and interests.,The pools are great, but the range of other activities is what makes it more than just a hot springs. The meditation teepee, a teepee for making snores, miniature golf, basketball court, bikes, river float, and salmon dinner with indigenous stories are all worth checking into. Be sure and bring sun screen, bug deterrent, and maybe your own towels. The hotel room I had was well appointed (including pool towels) and very comfortable though there were few electrical outlets. All in all, I'd take my family here again. A brief side trip into Warm Springs to tour the museum is also a must read more

Pool area was cool. Besides that, staff was horrendous. Lady at the pool gate yelled at us for asking a question (first time there so we didn't know). Then refused to help us because she was annoyed we were 15 minutes early. She made us wait in the parking lot. Finally got checked in and went to the room. The key didn't work. Walked back down the office for help. They said they fixed it. I walked back up and the key still didn't work. Went back to the office and told them. The employee didn't believe me. She was upset and said "fine I'll do it." She walked with me back to my room and surprise surprise the key didn't work. She made a phone call this time and said "the key really doesn't work." She couldn't let us in and said we had to wait for someone to fix the keypad. I asked to be let in since my 2 year I'd had to pee. She said she couldn't. My 2 year old peed his pants in front of the hotel room. Neighbors also couldn't get in. Great way to start a trip with a bunch of angry employees. Food is super bland besides the fry bread. At least the young lady at the resort convince store was super friendly and helpful. Will not be back. read more

I will not return to Kah-Nee-Ta Resort. Our hotel room was over priced and the sliding glass door did not lock... we were located on the ground floor. The "restaurant" was more like a bowling alley cafe and the food was not good. The check-in instructions direct guests to the "front desk" which is an outdoor guard shack at the entrance of the old village area. The website show cases the pool area - the nicest part of the entire property. Overall, a bad experience. read more

Spent a couple nights here recently with family. It is beautiful and I love the hot pools/tubs and staff is very friendly but seemed to not be trained well or obviously a huge lack of communication among staff. There needs to be more signage, our trip felt like a scavenger hunt finding where to go. The website said there are 2 restaurants but it is just one "restaurant" that you order at a counter. The coffee is pretty bad and food options very limited/not great. Wished there were fruit options!! Ice machine was broken at the hotel or whatever they call it. Would recommend bringing your own food and only staying if you want to camp/bring an RV. Gift shop is disappointing, was hoping to buy some unique gifts while there. Not much to choose from. Would not return or recommend unless there were a lot of improvements. It's too bad, lots of potential!! They have the right idea... read more

We used to go to Kah Nee Ta at least once a year prior to the closure. Just got a chance to re-visit over the Thanksgiving holiday (day passes). The pool renovations are nice and sensible--options for different water temperatures, kiddie pools and cold plunge. When we visited, the staff was friendly, and everything was clean--including the water and pool area. The resort played soothing music with nature sounds. We made sure to get our money's worth and enjoyed the mini golf and pickle ball areas. (I'm surprised by the negative reviews, but seems they suffer from lack of staffing, especially at the hotel and during the busy summer season?) Remember this place is still pretty remote and newly reopened, so proper staffing is not always easy to achieve. Go with an open mind and enjoy the beautiful nature scenery!! We're glad Kah Nee Ta is back, and assume they will work out any glitches :) read more

Run by idiots? We live Bend and actually drove there to get a look at it and talk to someone about booking a stay. Website provides very little specific info about accommodations, services, etc. Difficult to get anyone to answer the phone during business hours? Front desk initially was not manned? The answers we got to our questions were very "uncommittable". Couldn't get a look at a lodge room but teepees looked filthy with no furnishings at all? Place looked poorly maintained; visible trash, wear & tear around pool areas. As far as we can tell, food is only available between 9:00am & 9:00pm? We will not be staying here until further investment in staff, services and property are made... read more

First off, I must say that the scenery and wildlife are amazing. It was nice to sit on the deck connected to my room and see so many stars. Now for the lowdown. I could go on at length, but I'm just gonna sum it up: this is the definition of a TOURIST TRAP. Stay far away from this place. I know you think you are supporting indigenous peoples, but you're not. Look at who actually manages (not owns and operates) this facility. Also, please stop serving alcohol here. It's dangerous and contraindicated for hot tubs and, honestly, belligerent white people don't need to be drunk around indigenous workers and guests. I checked out less than 24 hours after checking in. I am used to roughing it, but for this kind of money you expect certain things to be in working order. I'd rather grab my camping gear and rough it at some non-over-chlorinated springs and possibly avoid the insipid conversations that ruin the tranquillity of this place. Wanted to add that there is a sign near the pools stating their healing properties and a list of elements in the water and this list includes mercury. Doesn't seem very therapeutic to me. read more

Had a great time at the resort on a day pass! Everything was clean, cabana/lounge chairs were so comfy, life guards were on their game, food & drinks great! We will be returning multiple times next summer I'm sure! read more

I went there yesterday. I was excited since I had not been there since high school. I'm not sure why there would be limited food at the restaurant since it is open. Bummer. Towels are only given to guests at motel which I think for 39 bucks it should have included towel use. Would have liked a T-shirt. But only sm and med left ?? If the resort is open. Why aren't all activities still open? Horseback riding?? Etc. There are pictures of slides on web site. I guess I wasn't paying attention . But those pics were from 8 yrs ago. Please take those off. They are misleading. I am not the only one who I have talked to that has said this. Kids were disappointed. If there is limited food at the restaurant . I don't see how you can expect people not to be able to bring there own food in. That's crap.pizza crust hard . The prices on the cabana for the soaking tub on top was not too bad. $199.00. People at the resort were very friendly and helpful. Definitely not worth the money. read more
