This was one of the nicer hotels in Madras, Oregon. Included in the cost of the room we got a continental breakfast. That was pretty good. It definitely knocked a meal out during our trip to the Bend area and that was nice. There is also a pool and a jacuzzi here. We thought the pool water was too cold so we didn't pursue swimming in it much. The jacuzzi however was nice and relaxing and helped us unwind after being on the road. Probably the best thing here is we didn't hear a peep from any of the other guests. No screaming kids, people crying, furniture being moved in the middle of the night or tarot readings... all experiences we have had to endure while staying in hotels in the past and therefore keeping us awake. That was not the case at all here with any of that. We slept very soundly and solidly which was a wonderful thing as in addition to people being too noisy we sometimes simply can't sleep because it's involving a strange bed. But not the night we stayed here. The unfamiliar bed issue wasn't a problem at all. read more

Cute little place. Staff were awesome. I read in the website the gym was open 24 hours but staff said it opened at 6 and closed at 10. Just a little numbed about that. They served a hot breakfast. I was hoping for some fresh fruit but luckily for me there is a Safeway supermarket across the street. The room was nice. I enjoyed napping on the couch. I was a little disappointed with the desk chair. It seemed a little broken and I had lots of work to do. I didn't bring it up to staff, I just made it work. They do offer small soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Also have in room coffee machine, fridge and microwave. I enjoyed my stay. read more

Such a poor experience from this place. Overcharged and had to fight it through a charheback and multiple phone calls. Manager will literally lie in response to negative reviews on google. Saying what he thinks people want to believe. I will update with more photos of the credit card dispute and further. This place has poor managemant and a very scary staff. read more

We had an enjoyable one-night stay, once they figured out that none of their employees had bothered to enter our Travelocity reservation into their system. Took a few extra minutes, but they eventually upgraded us to an executive suite with a king bed, and an extra "living room" area that we didn't even use. Oh well, it was a nice gesture. For those booking third party, I'd advise confirming directly with the hotel a day or two before to make sure they have your reservation in their system. Being on the third floor, our stay was nice and quiet. The bed was comfortable, and I actually got a good night's sleep (doesn't always happen for me away from home). As far as the breakfast goes, I found their lack of fresh fruit disturbing. Everything else was adequate -- cold cereal, eggs, bacon, maker your own waffles, toast, etc. Nothing amazing, though. I ended having toast & jam with a cup of coffee. I would stay here again, but might see what other options are available in the area first. read more

Who designed the hotel????? The parking lot is too far away in a sketchy looking area. The hotel is very dark and dreary inside.

Beautiful place to stay!!! Employees were all nice and welcoming. Everything was clean and tidy. Great view of the hills. Breakfast was good. Will definitely stay again!!! With that said there were 4 things I did have issues with: no fan in bathroom (I had to use matches after #2's), toilet in odd spot so I couldn't use the whole counter in bathroom, hot tub needed to be clean (very yucky gross water), and eggs & potatoes were cold. Staff was friendly. The pool was open late, which was great because we checked in after 10pm. Had the whole pool and hot tub to ourselves. The rooms appeared to be clean. The shower, however did have a clump of hair clung to the shower wall. Shower must not have been cleaned very well. They supplied soap bars and shampoo, but the shampoo bottle appeared to have been half used. Also, I hope they replace some of their towels since they had some holes in them from wear. My stay was overall very well. I wasn't picky after a long day of traveling on the road. Also, I was in awe of the entrance. So beautiful. You'll have to check it out! read more

This was an okay place to stay. Our room had poor lighting all around, compact fluorescent light bulbs, dim light in bathroom, no light in shower, one table lamp between two beds. There was a comfy chair in the room, which we always appreciate. Very slippery floor in bathroom when only wearing socks. Significant slip hazard. Beds were okay. Bathroom sink never got hot water. Ornate lobby. Clearly a lot of work went into the landscaping and common interior areas, and the room was surprisingly bland in comparison. Elevator was perfumed?!? Breakfast had the usual suspects to choose from. Nothing extraordinary, but plenty of it. Pleased to find that eggs and potatoes did not appear to be cooked in any sort of oil, which we appreciated. read more

Probably one of the nicer hotels in town. Perched up on the hillside and the landscape looks well taken care of. The other hotels looked dismal. Was able to get a room last minute and check in early. The down side was the room was right across from the elevator and in the back of the hotel. With maybe five other guests that night, as seen in the lobby/dining area, why would you act like your doing me the favor of an early check in then give me a crappy room? There were three cars in the lot when I arrived and four the next am. The room itself was not bad, but the bed was not comfortable and the shower and sink did not drain properly. Minimal amenities in the room, the soap was awful. Staff was pleasant. I would definitely request a room with a view and not near the elevator. Located near Safeway so I grabbed some food and gasoline for a snack and early departure. read more

Happened to catch view of a (bed?) bug scurrying away this morning when I turned on the light. Other observations- The bathroom has muck in the corners of the shower. And shower curtain smelled of mildew. Carpet looked like a vacuum was carelessly ran across the carpet a couple times. Management would do well to white glove the rooms to ensure thorough cleaning. One contributing factor may be that the rooms a very dimly lit, which could make it difficult for housekeeping to properly clean. Or this may be a case of poorly trained employees. Consolation prize was the coffee was good. Enough said. Leaving immediately. read more

This hotel is great. They are building another hotel next door (opening in December). The breakfast buffet is the BEST I have ever had at a hotel! Bacon, sausage, country sausage gravy, eggs, waffles, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea, juices, and more. The rooms are nice too. We will stay here again. read more

The hotel is located in Madras just north of downtown. The hotel is nice; the rooms were clean, the grounds were well kept, they had nice rooms but the staff was what stood out to me. They were always nice and friendly. From the housekeeping folks to the front desk to the breakfast people everyone went the extra mile to smile and help us out. This hotel is great for families as it has a pool and a really good breakfast. The breakfast caters to a wide pallet as it had Continental, sweet, and savory items available. read more

Nicest hotel in Madras but to bad they do bad business. I stayed here two weeks, went home for 2 days and had another two weeks. I showed up to check in at 10pm and they canceled my room without telling me because they could charge a regular person a higher rate than my corporate rate. I thought our overall experience was fantastic. Would totally stay again. Pro's: Customer service was awesome. Super helpful and kind people. Room was clean and bathroom was clean. Pool and hot tub had perfect temp and were clean. Cons: The work out room had a treadmill, and a bike. Also had a elliptical but it was broken. Sorry excuse for a workout room. Too small. Why not just turn it into a sauna?! They were understaffed and every time we called and asked for something we had to go down to get it. Overall, enjoyed ourselves. read more

Very clean room and hospitable staff to make you feel welcomed. My favorite hotel in Oregon by far, very cozy and whimsical during the holidays. Indoor pool and jacuzzi, business and laundry room available. Amazing lobby presentation, with a fire place view from two sides, a checkers table with very comfy chairs, and best part is the free breakfast from 6-9am. It can be a very romantic stay, or perfect for a family stay. Can't go wrong booking your stay here and driving down to other cities. read more

Stayed (2) times before but will not stay again. This hotel is in a good location for staying the night if you are going to the casino 15 minutes down the road. The rooms are decent size and they have a microwave as well as a fridge. The indoor pool and spa is fine and the lobby is nice (while at the same time creepy). There is a fireplace in the lobby that i have never seen lit (both times i stayed were in the Winter). The first (2) times that we stayed i did not have a problem. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the service was fine. The last time however, we had kind of a disgusting issue. One of my sons went to go pee and he brought me in to show me that there was quite a bit of diarrhea splatter on the toilet rim. Someone obviously had quite the "Blowout" and i don't know how the maid missed it. I went to wipe it off with a huge wad of TP and it was dried on like it had been there for days. All i can figure is that the made must of had some sort of distraction right when she was cleaning the John! When i told the front desk clerk (and showed her the picture) she was appalled and VERY apologetic. The maintenance guy also walked in on the conversation and he too was in disbelief. I tell ya, I have probably stayed at over 300 hotels in my life (mostly nice chains and a few budget ones) and (although not the worst experience) this was pretty gross. The front desk clerk apologized again, moved us to another room and said that she would make sure that the manager or asst. manager would talk to us about it the next morning. To make a long story short she said that she was sorry but she really didn't seem to care too much. She did give a 10% discount so I guess if you don't have AAA or AARP you can still get the 10% off if you end up with a room that has dried up poo on the rim. read more

This is the best option for a hotel in Madras. My room was clean, I was worried because of all of the other reviews complaining about it being dirty but from what I saw the entire hotel was clean. The bed was very comfortable better than most hotel beds I have slept in. My complaints about the room is that the tv was very old and not one of three different news channels worked, and it smelt funny, not bad or dirty just weird. The guy working at the front desk was not the most hospitable person but I liked him, but could definitely see why others wouldn't like being assisted by him. The front desk told me she canceled the reservation and I would not be charged, to my surprise I was charged and Will the manager blamed hotels.com and hotels.com said he was declining the refund. not great customer service if you ask me. paid for a night I didn't stay because I canceled in the "24 hr window" but about 5-6 hrs. read more

Had they had decent customer service I probably would have given them 4 stars. So if you stay here you will most likely enjoy it and the hotel is nice. But on our stay on June 4-7 customer service was terrible. We checked in on Sunday and left our room around 11:30 am Monday. When we got back around 9 pm our room had not received maid service even though we had switched our sign from do not disturb to maid service. No big deal. We just need new towels. So we go down to the desk and instead of an "I'm sorry let me get some new towels for you" we get. "Well you must not have put your maid sign out" Umm yes we did but after the man at the counter tells us again how they would have cleaned the room if we had put it out it isn't worth arguing about so just give us our towels please. So now Tuesday morning same routine. Leave around 11:30 turn sign to maid service return around 9 pm to an uncleaned room. This time since he was rude last night I decide they can bring me towels instead of me going back down. I call, tell him (same guy) that this happened again and could they send towels up. I'm told he's the only one working and he is too busy to bring them up but he can bring them to the front desk. Fine. We go to get them and still no apology he just acts really put out and tells us that they keep marking our room do not disturb like it's our fault. Like I said we're it not for the man at the counter who has no clue what customer service is I would have given it 4 stars but when your house cleaning service skips me two days in a row, don't try to blame me or act like you are put out because you have to get me towels and shampoo. BUYER BEWARE! Don't trust this Hotel to keep your reservation. I booked a king size bed room well in advance. When I got there they had given my room away. I didn't arrive late. I checked in around 4pm. There were hardly any cars in the parking lot. They just gave my room away to someone else. Didn't check with me beforehand. Didn't notify me. No explanation when I got there, just a "sorry, we have no more king bed rooms." They admitted that I booked the king bed room. My receipt clearly showed it. The guy at the front desk was completely indifferent. Made me feel totally unimportant. Didn't even offer to discount the room. Trust is everything when booking a room at a hotel. If you can't trust a reservation the hotel is not worthy of your business. read more

Beautiful facility. So much wood and leather furniture in the lobby gives a warm welcome. Rooms are super clean and have everything you need for the night. We had an east facing room so enjoyed the view and morning sunrise. Appreciated that there was breakfast but not the best. Nothing home made, warmed and served but the coffee was great. The staff we very friendly and helpful and the lobby/decor was beautiful. The bed was very hard and bedding was a little rough so my 3 night stay for work, I got hardly any sleep. I actually skinned my elbow from tossing and turning all night long the first 2 nights. 3rd night I put all the pillows to make a nest and was able to sleep better. I was freezing! brrrrr! I paid $150 night for the family suite--ground floor with a separate bedroom. I thought the price was just fine for the quality of the hotel. Also note: When I made my reservation I accidentally reserved for nights the following week. STAY AWAY! DIRTY!!!!!!!!!! This place is horrible. Don't let the fancy lobby fool you! Dirty, dirty, dirty.....pee and poop on the toilet. I was yelled at when I asked for an extra towel. An awesome surprise! We had a long drive into Madras while on family vacation and didn't know what to expect. The clerk at the desk was very helpful, delightful even. We did our laundry in the laundry room. She recommended Genos for dinner which turned out to be a great recommendation! The hotel has everything; laundry room, indoor pool and spa (check the wall for controls), excercise room, breakfast (good and you can make your own waffles!). We were surprised that it was quite upscale and met all of our needs. read more

I'd never been to Madras before, so picked this place online to stay during the Small Farmer's Journal horse-drawn equipment auction. It was clean, classy, quiet & comfortable. Nice simple room with fridge & microwave & coffee maker. The breakfast was nice, especially the DIY waffle maker. The staff was very helpful and polite. We finished up our business early, and they didn't even charge a cancellation fee for leaving a night early. We'll definitely be back! read more

I will never stay here again. No parking even close to the entrance. You have to unload your luggage and then park way up the hill. I don't have handicap sign but there was plenty of spaces for the handicapped to park. I am 70 years old and I just had a valve replaced in my heart. Bye the time I unloaded parked my car and wobbled down the hill and got sent to four different rooms that hadn't been cleaned, I was choking couldn't catch my breath. Oh and on my walk down the hill I saw one of the workers get in his car that he parked in a handicapped spot and moved it really quick into a spot where one of his co workers had just pulled out of. Which of course was close to the main door. Since when do the workers get the best parking spots. read more

As a new business owner in town I stay here often. Rooms are clean and the pool/hot tub is very nice. The only issue I've had is they put me in a pet room one time. The dog hair was pretty bad. That only happened once. I'll continue to stay here. Wish they had food and a bar. Step up and install one! It would do great! read more

We stayed at this hotel for the night and was very pleased with it. Nice decorated, comfy feeling, friendly staff, clean. They had a nice complementary breakfast although it only goes until 9am. 10 am would have been better. Pool is open 24 hours! Workout room is only cardio machines but something is better than nothing. They even had a laundry room which was cool! Bad part was the beds weren't the best, but that's my only complaint. I have stayed a better hotels for lower prices in bigger cities. Specifics: Motel 6 style closets (ie: a hanger rod with no door). Burned out light bulbs in fixtures. A toilet so close to the sink that half the sink area is unusable. CF light bulbs that take forever to light up. Small rooms. $154/night + tax is what I paid. To be clear... It wasn't bad. It was acceptable accommodations. It was simply the value of a $89-105/night hotel. Not the value of a hotel that is over $150. I expected more for this price point for a hotel outside a major metro area. read more

I think the room we stayed in is a converted apartment complex. Large room, comfortable bed though the bathroom wasn't very clean (found someone else's earring on the sink!). This morning, I saw light still streaming in above one of the beds... at first I was appalled but then was happy to see it was just an old covered window so at least it wasn't exposed and open to the elements. I suppose I can handle poor craftsmanship. It was late when we arrived in town and it was the only place available. I would probably choose another place if I had the option, but it was comfortable enough that I was able to sleep. Breakfast was average, but the staff was friendly. read more

I had paid for the room right before I got checked in so the guy that worked at the front desk did not have the email to confirm my reservation. Very nice hotel, nice surprise! Beds are very comfortable, well appointed rooms, entire hotel was clean, laundry, pleasant helpful staff and lots of extras. Wifi was iffy most of the time though - spent most of the time on cellular. Only big disappointed was breakfast...."so-so" hot food selection - same every day, no fresh fruit (processed fruit cups only), ran out of items very quickly with no replacement even though breakfast was advertised till 9am. Basically, much lower quality than I expected for this hotel. I bought a lot of breakfast type foods across the street at Safeway.
