When you check in yet you called and said it was open. Thumbs down

Such a poor experience from this place. Overcharged and had to fight it through a charheback and multiple phone calls. Manager will literally lie in response to negative reviews on google. Saying what he thinks people want to believe. I will update with more photos of the credit card dispute and further. This place has poor managemant and a very scary staff.

Probably one of the nicer hotels in town. Perched up on the hillside and the landscape looks well taken care of. The other hotels looked dismal. Was able to get a room last minute and check in early. The down side was the room was right across from the elevator and in the back of the hotel. With maybe five other guests that night, as seen in the lobby/dining area, why would you act like your doing me the favor of an early check in then give me a crappy room? There were three cars in the lot when I arrived and four the next am. The room itself was not bad, but the bed was not comfortable and the shower and sink did not drain properly. Minimal amenities in the room, the soap was awful. Staff was pleasant. I would definitely request a room with a view and not near the elevator. Located near Safeway so I grabbed some food and gasoline for a snack and early departure.

Happened to catch view of a (bed?) bug scurrying away this morning when I turned on the light. Other observations- The bathroom has muck in the corners of the shower. And shower curtain smelled of mildew. Carpet looked like a vacuum was carelessly ran across the carpet a couple times. Management would do well to white glove the rooms to ensure thorough cleaning. One contributing factor may be that the rooms a very dimly lit, which could make it difficult for housekeeping to properly clean. Or this may be a case of poorly trained employees. Consolation prize was the coffee was good. Enough said. Leaving immediately.

Absolutely beautiful lobby and great room. Service during check-in and breakfast was excellent! Definitely a goto hotel for central Oregon.

Just what the weary traveler needs! And what a great breakfast buffet! I'd Bend is full, stop in Madras! Great over flow parking too!

Who designed the hotel????? The parking lot is too far away in a sketchy looking area. The hotel is very dark and dreary inside.

Upon arrival, it became immediately clear that the property was not fit for our occupancy. The first room provided, which had been reserved in advance, was infested with bedbugs. I documented both the pest and the injuries sustained as a result. When I raised my concerns, a second room was offered as a resolution. Unfortunately this room was also unacceptable, it contained soiled bedding, had clearly been used without housekeeping service, and lacked proper lighting, making it unsafe and uncomfortable. A third room was eventually presented but this one was visibly infested with cockroaches. After raising these repeated concerns with the on-duty representative, we were assured we'd not be charged for the stay and that a full refund would be issued. We immediately canceled the stay, turned over the room key(s), and left the property to secure alternative lodging. Despite this agreement, we were later charged for the room that was never suitable for occupancy. I attempted to resolve this matter directly with the Economic Lodge on three separate occasions, but my efforts were unsuccessful. At this point I'm disputing the charge through my cc company and felt compelled to share my experience publicly. IMO the conditions of this property fell far below even the most basic lodging standards. Services paid for were not rendered, the premises were unsanitary, and the management failed to honor their own commitments. I strongly encourage travelers to exercise caution before booking this location.

I'd know that bc a friend and I stayed there over the weekend, and I locked us out of the room at 3am. All the keys, lights, music were in there. I went to the window and was back in the room immediately. Yes, I may be the most annoying motel guest in history. The point is someone is always available! We got a room with two beds and full blown kitchen at a rate cheaper than the other motels in the area. It's unbeatable for a short stay. Heck, I'll be back if I'm ever needing to stay in Madras. The lovely couple tending to the front desk was genuinely nice and helpful people. You can't choose the people staying in the motel, but you can enjoy your time and feel comfy knowing that you're getting a good deal with great service!

The beds were SUPER comfortable with plenty of thick, soft pillows. They even go the extra mile with little details like the toilet paper. The bathroom is spacious and there's storage space everywhere. We got here in the middle of the night and the staff was still very warm and friendly. They even walked us to our room and let us in with our key. The price for this studio apartment/VRBO all wrapped up in a motel is VERY reasonable. No time for a shower or I'd let you know how the water pressure is.

The pictures made the place look budget friendly yet clean. I arrived at 11:30 pm after a very long drive. When I arrived I was horrified! It was run down and there were shady people milling around in the parking lot. I was given a key to my room, however the door handle was broken and about to fall off! When I entered the room it was dirty, filthy, and looked like it had been painted by a 5 yr old. The air conditioner was not set properly into the wall and you could see insulation. There was a window in the bathroom and when I checked it, it was NOT locked. Someone could have opened it from the outside and climbed in. I went back out into the area with the bed and thought something looked "odd" about the peep hole on the door. Upon closer inspection I discovered that it was an actual HOLE in the door! I can only wonder about what kind of nefarious stuff has been going on with unsuspecting guests. I returned to the front desk and informed the clerk of the issues and demanded a refund. She printed out an invoice then wrote down two phone numbers to call if I had not received my refund in 3 days. 5 days later and still no refund. I have just called both numbers and one comes back as a possible scam number and the 844 number just rings. So she gave me TWO fake phone numbers. I looked at my booking confirmation and it has a 541 number which is Oregon. Nope-it goes to a call center in India where they say they "attempted" to call the front desk but did not receive and answer. This place appears to be owned by a foreign company called Oyo and is a SCAM. I recommend anyone who has been scammed by this motel, contact local law enforcement and file a complaint with the Oregon Attorney Generals office.
