During the first class the coach called me by name and was very helpful, both to me and the rest of the class. The whole class was very friendly! Granted, I have taken the Crossfit Kool-aid and can't do without regular exercise anymore - I have found a home with Crossfit and feel like they have found the perfect balance of training for strength, endurance, mobility and flexibility! As a 56 year old man who once went nearly 16 years without any deliberate exercise, getting involved with Crossfit has been a life-changing experience. I've lost over 40 lbs, recovered the stamina I had 20 years ago and, in some ways, become stronger than I've ever been! This gym is clean, friendly, and the coaches take personal care of each athlete and work with them at their own level. I recommend this Affiliate without any reservation.

Luckily for me, I got to know Dawn Armstrong, facility director, and she helped make me much more comfortable. I started with a few group classes just to familiarize myself with the facility. I tried Tai Chi, Spin, Yoga.. they were all pretty intense workouts! After that, I branched out on my own a little bit and got more familiar and comfortable with the other areas. The best thing about this gym is that, with CaC registration, you get 24 hour access! Although, it is limited to the outer facilities. In the main gym is a free weight room, cross fit-esque room, spin/yoga room, racquetball court, basketball court, and m/f saunas and locker rooms. These only allow access during business hours (0530-2000 M-f and 0730-1600 Sat) The two outer facilities are 24 hr accessible. One is a cardio room with treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers, bikes, and a row machine. The other is the nautilus equipment room with a full range of machines, dumbbells, kettlebells, and squat bar/rack. It's not exactly a top of the line, super huge and fancy type of facility .. but for WSMR with it's small population, it gets the job done!

I tried physical therapy after each surgery but feel I have gotten more from Pilates. I honestly feel that if it was not for Ellen's individual program for my body needs, I would probably be using a walker. Instead, I am able to walk 2 miles a day, garden and have complete mobility. It's a pretty, intimate space, and they have mats and props for you to borrow if you don't have your own with you. I am just in town for a business trip, but I'll definitely be back! Mary Jane is very knowledgeable about anatomy and pays close attention to help her clients perform at their peak without overdoing it. Plus she has the certifications to prove it. I've been going to DDY for over a year now and it's a great place to practice yoga for a variety of reasons and I always look forward to my practice there as well as how I'm treated. DDY offers classes to meet all needs, abilities, and levels: beginner-friendly mellow classes all the way up to advanced intensive flows. Students are from all levels, everyone is super friendly, and the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and ideal for serenity. Classes sometimes are led by guest instructors from outside of Las Cruces, which makes for excellent opportunities to see new techniques and teaching styles. There's even a free baby yoga class for mothers! There are two things I really like about the instructors at DDY: one, they're great at guiding poses and explaining them; and two, they keep classes exciting by refreshing poses and flows to keep it feeling new--even after 10 classes with the same instructor, she will surprise you by describing a different sensation to concentrate on in a pose you've done a hundred times and suddenly it'll feel new. Overall, it's a great studio filled with always friendly faces, making it comfortable for you to explore yoga no matter what your level or goal.

Coach Beth assembles different workouts daily with specific intentions toward strength, conditioning and cardio in ways I would have never thought about that bring positive results. The workouts are thoughtful and will leave you feeling stronger (and sweatier!). During the pandemic, LCBC has offered online workouts that have been invaluable. Having a Coach that is supportive and knowledgeable has kept me invested in this gym. It's affordable, it's community-based (guys, this gym donates to local and national causes!), and even offers bonus workouts, Zoom classes, and opportunities to get to know other gym members. Definitely worth the time, dollar and energy in more ways than I thought a gym could be.

It's a nice addition to the baseball fields, playground, dog park and aquatic center. The Fitness Court app can be downloaded from iOS or Android. This saves money from the gym.
