God, I love this place! Whether I'm grabbing a solo meal at the bar or taking sushi home for the whole family, the experience is always amazing. The food is incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and consistently delicious. They always greet me with a smile, which makes coming here even better.

Went to Kai Sushi on a Thursday and had a great experience overall. Service was attentive and fast. The food came out quickly and everything we tried was really good and fresh. The atmosphere was relaxed and clean, which made it a nice place to sit and enjoy the meal. The only downside was that they don't serve alcohol, which was a little disappointing. Other than that, solid spot for sushi and I'd definitely go back.

We tried Kai Sushi for an early supper one late Saturday afternoon. It was very good. My dining partner ordered his usual Cali Roll and I did some sampling. We will definitely return !

We came out of Saturday early afternoon, and the restaurant has a few tables occupied. They make an effort to welcome everyone as they enter the restaurant, which is a nice touch. Service is very attentive. Now when it comes to the food, we enjoyed everything we ordered, especially the sashimi samplers from the appetizer/starter section of the menu. The sampler came with 11 pieces of fish some come with two while others come with individual pieces. Their fish are very fresh and sweet. Aside from the sashimi samplers we also got the rainbow roll, tuna roll from the gluten-free section, tempura udon noodle soup and chicken teriyaki Bento box from the kids menu. Fish and these rolls were fresh as well. They were also very generous with the tuna in the tuna roll. I'm glad they offer gluten-free option, including a choice of gluten-free soy sauce. Udon yo soup was yummy and flavorful, and the bowl comes with a nice variety of imitation crab and other fresh vegetables. Udon came with three pieces of nicely battered vegetable tempura We also tried their mochi ice cream which came with strawberry and chocolate flavors. Overall, a solid sushi restaurant, especially in this part of town. We will come back.

Fantastic food with fantastic staff! Please come and try the delicious and fresh sushi at Kai. It will definitely keep you coming back.

Enjoyed a quick lunch special at Kai today. It was good but nothing special - a solid 4 star experience. I ordered the 5 pieces of chef selected sushi + 1 Maki roll deal for $21. Slightly overpriced for the quality in my opinion. I selected the dragon roll, which was a tad too sweet for my taste. The nigiri had a good fish to rice ratio and flavorful fish. Attentive service and a clean, modern space.

    All gluten free. All delicious.

Update (a little over a year later): Still amazing. Still BYOB (extra points here). The food, the service, everything. This is in my top favorites of restaurants.

Kai sushi is always solid. The staff is super attentive, polite, and friendly. The food is fresh and the crispy rice appetizer is a great palette starter and the establishment is clean. Highly recommend for lunch/dinner that's both delicious and reasonably priced.

Ahh I really had high hopes for this place because it came highly recommended and we came for a bday party. It is really far from me too. I am giving it a generous 3 only because the staff and owner is really nice. And some of the sushi was pretty fresh and tasted good. The staff was very attentive and helpful and it's hard to rate them this way but I have to in hopes they know and maybe change in some way. First there is no parking and the wait for the sushi boat was long BUT that's not why I had to rate low. After eating and indulging our group left and one in our party got very sick. I thought she was having a heart attack but it turned out to be food poison. She was so sick. If it was an isolated incident we can chalk it up to indigestion or something but then another person in our party got sick too. We didn't find out until later. She was in the toilet all night and was still sick the next day. Out of our party of 7, 2 got so sick. So now I am so weary and most likely will not return. The place wasn't the cleanest. The table next to us had a baby who threw rice all over the floor lol but It's a small restaurant and it was busy that night. My miso soup tasted fine. The apps were ok, the squid balls were questionable. I ate it but idk if that's what made my friend sick. The salad was good. The tofu was good. I didn't eat the edamame. But the highlight was the boat it was beautiful. And every piece of sushi and sashimi I had was good. Pretty fresh but not the best sushi I've had and the rice is a bit too hard for my liking. The rice reminded me of HEB sushi rice which is sad. BUT the few pieces of sushi and sashimi fish I had wasn't bad. It was good. They grill the head of the fish after you've eaten. It was not bad. They even gave us a dessert for the bday girls. I only had a bite. However the experience of driving my friend home, worrying about her, thinking we were going to have an accident because I thought she was having a heart attack mars the whole dinner experience. And then finding out another friend had major tummy issues and couldn't eat the next day put the nail on the coffin. Will not be coming back sorry. But the boat made for a pretty pic! Hope you all have a better experience.

I went here a while ago with my friends and this place is SO GOOD. The ambiance of this place is super cool and it's so relaxing. The service was really good and the server was very nice and understanding. I can't eat certain meats so I asked her a few questions, she answered them very patiently and she was curious about my culture so she asked a few questions very politely. The prices for the food were reasonable. The food was great and we all enjoyed. We all got the chicken katsu, the the proportions were really good, the crunch on the chicken was crazy, and it came with so much food and side dishes to go with such as miso soup, dumplings, sushi, rice, and salad. The salad had such a fresh and new taste to it which I really really enjoyed.

The first time that I tried Kai Sushi was during the pandemic. My experience was alright but really not worth noting as I only picked it up. This time around I was able to sit and order at the restaurant. I brought my niece here as sushi was on her list of accepted meals after a long soccer tournament. We had a wonderful experience and wonderful service, so kind and authentic. Our food was delicious and we could not have left happier. I look forward to making more time to come and sit to enjoy the experience more often than not. This is also a great spot for a date night, very intimate and I'd say mostly quiet.

We wanted a nice Sushi place close to Cedar Park and found Kai Sushi with great reviews in Yelp! What a nice meal! We had the lunch special with nigiri and a roll, including a salad with the most delicious dressing and a Miso soup. Service was quick and very friendly, the place is super cozy, a touch romantic and rather quiet. The food was delicious, we tried the Vegas roll and the deep fried shrimp tempura with avocado one. I will definitely be back! Super!!!

You know when a place is soooo good you want to keep it for yourself?! That's how I feel about Kai Sushi, but alas, it's time to share with the world. This is the BEST sushi spot in Leander. The sushi is so delicately prepared, so authentic and soooo delicious. It is by far my favorite place to grab lunch. Great for date night as well as its bring your own alcohol. Their service is superb and so friendly. I simply love this place!

Had a sushi roll. The diameter of the roll was a bit oversized for one mouthful and rice was not sticky enough to hold ring together.

The moment you enter, you're greeted with the gentle buzz of happy diners and the clean, modern aesthetic of a place that takes pride in its craft. The sushi itself is the star. Each piece arrives with precise cuts, balanced seasoning, and that unmistakable freshness that tells you the chefs care about both sourcing and technique. Rolls are inventive without being gimmicky, and classic nigiri stands strong on flavor alone. Service is attentive without hovering, and recommendations actually feel tailored instead of canned. Why did it take so long, I have no clue? We specifically came to this location to get the lunch Bento box specials. Bento box The Bento box lunch specials here are fully customizable (based upon a set list of items of course), which is nice as you can get as you can really have it your way (written in the B.K. theme song tone). We both elected to get the sushi, teriyaki chicken and salmon respectively. The lunch special bento boxes also come with standard white rice, a small salad with sesame dressing and miso soup. The beto boxes are truly filling for their size which I acredit to the rice from both the sushi and the portion that comes with the lunch. The teriyaki was perfectly balanced as it wasn't too salty which was perfect as when it tastes overwhelmingly savory, masking other flavors like sweetness and garlic. Conversely, the miso soup was a bit too salty for my liking. Sometimes the saltiness in miso soup can vary depending on the type and amount of miso paste used. I didnt think to tell the staff that I required something lower in sodium which is my fault. We also ordered another sushi role that was made with crispy salmon, jalapeno, spicy mayo, Sriracha and seaweed. The sushi role was crunchy and had a nice kick of flavor. Paired with wasabi, this role was an explosive flavor bomb. The service coupled with the food, vaule for quanity of food and service make this an ideal luch spot for fresh sushi. #supportlocal

I started with the gyozas -- filled with chicken and veggies, and really affordable at around $6 for 6. The sauce was delicious, and I shared them with my family, who also thought they were great. You can get them fried or steamed; I went with steamed. Next, I ordered the salmon avocado roll, and it was literally the best roll I've ever eaten. I dipped it in soy sauce, and for those who avoid preservatives, they even offer a soy sauce with just soy, wheat, salt, and water -- perfect for me! I ended up ordering four orders of six rolls (yes, they were that good) and ate them all by myself. Each order was about $9, with $7 for just salmon -- avocado was an add-on. The Sexy Mango roll was my mom's favorite -- she said it tasted refreshing. We also tried sashimi sushi, which was served in a cool cup and tasted amazing. My brother went all out and ate 30 avocado rolls, and the chef was kind enough to give him a super-sized sushi with extra avocado and rice -- I was so jealous! I also tried the Beef Bulgogi, which was delicious and priced at about $13 -- very reasonable. Around 4:00 pm on Saturday, the restaurant wasn't crowded, which made it perfect to enjoy our meal. The K-pop music in the background was a fun touch, too. Seriously, the salmon avocado rolls were the best I've ever had. I'll definitely be back next time I'm nearby!

I can see this being a casual and intimate date spot, without venturing into too fancy of a dinner. We got the Fire dragon roll - we mostly ordered this for the spectacle because we saw on the menu that it would be on fire. And it was so cool! It's completely wrapped in foil while on fire, which isn't as cool, but it was still cool regardless. But eating it, this was our favorite that we tried. The eel is so soft, it just melts in your mouth. And the fire in the foil makes the roll so warm and creamy. Which I know isn't something you really want when you think sushi, but it was so good. The rollercoaster roll - I think the taste of this roll wasn't necessarily anything special. It was good and it had a little spicy kick. But what set it apart was the tempura inside gave it some crunchy bits that were fun to eat. Yellowtail tornado roll - I really liked the yellowtail in this roll! But I'm not the biggest fan of jalapeño, so this one was just okay for me. Lemon salmon roll - this roll was really light and refreshing! Probably my second favorite of the night. But the citrus flavor was pretty strong, since it had yuzu sauce and sliced lemon on top. I feel like I would have liked it more if it was just the yuzu without the lemon.
