    Salmon Teriyaki bowl

We love Umiya. Food and service are amazing. I think I found my favorite dish, salmon bowl. Very underrated place. Y'all should come! Phoenix roll and Lion King Roll were amazing

Food was amazing and the service was just as incredible. It was obvious once I sat down, there were 2 other tables that ordered their "usual" upon arrival. Very family friendly and great vibes. I will definitely return.

Love coming here! We always have great service and quick order return rates. Food is amazing and fresh. Relaxing place to bring the family and a few friends.

Spicy pork bulgogi bento, lunch menu

This restaurant is conveniently located down the street and decided to try it for a late lunch. It was not very busy at 1-1:30 with maybe a few tables. I asked if there were any recommendations in comparison to Japanese vs Korean on their menu. My wait staff mentioned the owner was Korean so I chose that route. She recommended the spicy pork bento box if I liked spicy and went with that. The food arrived very quickly. Portions were very fulfilling and packed the leftovers. The tempura vegetables were crisp but not very flavorful with the batter, their dipping sauce is definitely needed. The salad dressing was a refreshing orange citrus flavor with the basic California rolls. The pork bulgogi was plentiful, tender, juicy and flavorful. Lunch specials are reasonable based on the quantity of food that is given. If not, it would be considered pricey. Overall, the food was better than others I have tried although it didn't blow me away.

    Sushi/sashimi special - fresh Tuna
    Andrew S.

Great Sushi/Sashimi place in Leander. Spice level is mild and well received. Location being close is a big plus. Tuna Special appetizer - very fresh and dense. Wait staff is friendly. Parking is good but was under repair today and blocked off in several spots . Should be completed as you read this. My feeling - a nice neighborhood spot with good food and attentive staff.

    Perilla leaves

Tonight we had kimchee pancake and the galbi gim. They just recently changed the Menu to showcase more Korean Food. The owner is korean and cooks the korean food herself. Do not miss out on the korean food. Being half korean myself I was pleasantly surprised. They also had perilla leaves as a side banchab. Give it a go. You won't regret it.

    Fish tank #1

Sushi is great, particularly the Pink Lady roll, Umiya roll, the Crystal Valley and the Sunflower roll. The restaurant itself needs some serious help. The fish tanks are green literally! The one by the front door has two fish which are nearly dead, not a pleasant experience when you are dining. If they're not going to keep them up, they should take them out. Normally the service is good but tonight it was incredibly slow! It may be a while before we're back which is sad because it's so close and convenient. We were here an hour and twenty minutes tonight for 3 people and there were only a few tables seated.

    Failed health inspection

We were going to eat lunch here today but saw this on the door so we didn't go. We used to like their food so this is disappointing. The sign said they are still open so I'm guessing lots of unsuspecting people are still ordering food for delivery.

Tiger eye and Houston rock and roll! Super good!

Great selection of sushi and a variety of apps! Service could've been better. Took about 15 minutes for a sake and waters to arrive. I know some places are understaffed, but there were 3 servers on the floor (and it's not a big restaurant). They did seem to have a lot of curbside to-go orders going. We had the miso soup (delicious), and pork egg rolls for appetizer. Our sushi came out before the egg rolls (delicious) No big deal. I'd go again because food was delicious and the variety on the menu!

    Assorted sushi

Wow, coming from LA to Austin, I've been looking for a quality sushi place for almost 2yrs... Finally, this place is it!!!! When I came today, there was no wait time so we were seated very quickly which was a big plus for us. The quality is so much better than 10+ other sushi spots that I've been to in Austin. For the impressive quality, the price is super reasonable too. For anyone who's looking for a legit sushi restaurant in Austin, I'd highly recommend.

    Miso Ramen
    Mina H.

We visited this restaurant because we were staying nearby. If you go to this restaurant, I would recommend trying the sushi, hibachi, or anything else that does not need much seasoning. The sushi we had was great, so no complaints about that! However, the ramen we had was sad. The broth was not very flavorful, and the toppings in the ramen were bizarre. It's not very common to see green/red bell peppers and bella mushrooms in the ramen. Maybe shiitake or shimeji mushrooms would have been more appropriate. Good ramen broth requires a long cooking time, so any restaurant not specializing in it may not have the time to cook it well. This place is a perfect stop if you live in Leander and want some sushi, but stay away from ramen or other foods that require any intense cooking.

Rotten food covered in tempura. Imagine what sushi RAW FISH is like

They offer all the usual sushi and sashimi suspects along with a large selection of rolls. The sushi is fresh, and the portions are not small. They do have a good selection of hot and cold sake as well as beer. There is also an impressive lunch menu, including bento boxes and poke bowls. Service on our visit was friendly and attentive. They had minimal traffic on 12/23, which is normal for the Xmas season. I do hope they continue to do well as they are a fine addition to the CP - Leanderthal area!

Had a "hankering" for a Salmon Bento Box. I've discovered that in my area (Cedar Park, Leander,…read moreLiberty Hill), a good Bento Box is hard to find, except for lunch at "Sushi Fever". Enter "Momo Sushi", nice little restaurant on the west side of Cedar Park. Seated quickly, by our server who seemed fairly new, based on her inability to answer some of our questions. I ordered the Salmon Bento Box. Delicious and perfectly grilled for my dinning pleasure. I would have preferred the skin a little crisper, as requested. I loved all the sides, California roll, sticky rice, gyoza, salad, soup and fruit. The Salmon was a little over seasoned with something for my taste. It tasted a little salty and spicy at the same time. But despite that it was very tasty. My wife ordered the Teriyaki Bento, she mentioned her's was also over seasoned with pepper it seemed. The portions and quality of both meats were good. They just need to work on those spice shakers. We both always ask for "Rice Paper" or "Soy Paper" on our California rolls instead of sea weed. It's usually an up charge of $2 on the big rolls with 6-8 slices. We were charged $2 per roll on the B boxes. The Bento box sushi rolls are four small slices, essentially half a regular size roll. So we were charged an extra $2 to make 1 roll and slice it for two servings. Oy, Ve? Despite that small matter we will return, but I'll have to speak with mgmt., about the paper up charge. I do want to try other protein choices here with the Bento boxes. Go west Cedar Park and check out Momo Sushi. Michael C. Georgetown

For roughly $60 the wife was full and we had roughly 6 dishes and one cocktail (I was still slightly hungry). Think of it as more of a tapas style ordering. Soft shelled crab - My absolute favorite and by far the best dish! Crispy from the breading, soft shell and subtle crab taste, and to top it off the fried egg adds some creaminess from the yolk. Not greasy at all due to the way it's fried. And who doesn't like a little microgreen to add some freshness to it?! It could likely use a little more salt, and this particular time the yolk was a overcooked. Sushi Tacos - 2nd favorite! You get two, and frankly I prefer not sharing these (although my wife forced me to). It's such a unique dish. Each taco is palm sized. They take a yummy piece of laver (seaweed), coat one side and deep fry it to make a nice hard shell taco casing. Then they fill it with sushi rice, top it with plentiful tuna, add a slice of avocado, and top it with micro greens. Refreshing, light (once you squeeze the tiny lime on top), slightly filling due to the rice, and absolutely delicious. Takoyaki - I'm not a fan, but the wife is. For me it's a texture thing. Even when visiting Japan I didn't enjoy this dish. Honestly though I do think it deserves far more bonito flakes, as the dish is meant to look alive from the waving flakes. Honestly we love this place so much, I always get engrossed in the food so much I forget to take pics. The overall ambience is chill and refined, albeit no white tableclothes, but it acts like it should have them. I can see this being a casual and intimate date spot, without venturing into too fancy of a dinner. We got the Fire dragon roll - we mostly ordered this for the spectacle because we saw on the menu that it would be on fire. And it was so cool! It's completely wrapped in foil while on fire, which isn't as cool, but it was still cool regardless. But eating it, this was our favorite that we tried. The eel is so soft, it just melts in your mouth. And the fire in the foil makes the roll so warm and creamy. Which I know isn't something you really want when you think sushi, but it was so good. The rollercoaster roll - I think the taste of this roll wasn't necessarily anything special. It was good and it had a little spicy kick. But what set it apart was the tempura inside gave it some crunchy bits that were fun to eat. Yellowtail tornado roll - I really liked the yellowtail in this roll! But I'm not the biggest fan of jalapeño, so this one was just okay for me. Lemon salmon roll - this roll was really light and refreshing! Probably my second favorite of the night. But the citrus flavor was pretty strong, since it had yuzu sauce and sliced lemon on top. I feel like I would have liked it more if it was just the yuzu without the lemon.

It was well rendered, if a bit salty for my taste, and medium spicy as requested (plenty spicy enough for me). I've since tried Typhoon Shelter Crab -- a first for me, a feast for the eyes and palate -- and the popular cold dish they call Sliced Beef & Tripe in Chili Sauce (夫妻肺片 in Mandarin, also known in English as 'Husband & Wife Lung Slices' and 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith'). Shu Kitchen is very legit and more adventurous than your typical Chinese restaurants in the area (as you can easily tell by the number of Asian customers coming to their door). Although you can order standard dishes like stir-fries, fried rice combos, sesame, orange and General Tso's chicken, broccoli beef and stir-fried green beans, you can also get the likes of Shuwei Xuan Sichuan Spicy Blood Curd Stew (蜀味轩毛血旺), Boiled Bullfrog in Chili Sauce, Boiled Pork Intestines, Boiled Black Fish Filet in Chili Sauce, and one of my favorites, Hot and Sour Chicken Gizzard (sliced). The prices for some of the more esoteric/authentic dishes can run north of $35 and up to around $40, but this is not your typical Chinese fast food joint; the chef is experienced and the ingredients are carefully sourced. Housekeeping note: At this writing there is another Shu Kitchen listing at the same address, but this appears to have been changed from Sushi Express & Poke Bowl, which was at the same location but closed a while back.
