Boyfriend and I stumbled upon them and saw this pretty white mutt and both went "we like her!". Danielle and he team encouraged us to play with the dogs and get to know them. We have been wanting a dog but were apprehensive because we have two older cats. Danielle told us about the foster to adopt program she has where you can take the dog for a bit and see I'd they are a good fit. Our dogs name was Cupcake because that's what danielle and her team named her when they rescued her. Anyway we brought puppy home and she she fit right in. She was intrigued by the cats but not very aggressive. She was a good girl. Danielle said she was up to date on her shots and everything including being spayed. After a week we told Danielle that we wanted to keep the dog and that we renamed her Milly. We were in love and Danielle was extremely happy. This is how awesome Danielle and her team are: they actually didn't have room to rescue Milly, but because she was so sweet and Danielle knew she would make someone very happy, she took her in anyway. Danielle is so passionate about her work and she enjoys it so much. Please adopt! These animals just want to be loved and need a little TLC and patience. Considering that, plus they were both spayed and neutered, had their shots, and microchipped, the adoption fee is very reasonable. Also they did a home visit to make sure the dogs got along with our other dogs and cats. So much better than just bringing a dog home only to find out it hates cats or is not housetrained! The whole group has been helpful when we had training questions. One of he best small dog rescues in Arizona.

One poor Shepard was jumping to the top of his pen hitting his head every time. Horrible and so sad. I didn't see any type of yard either, where the dogs could be walked. I could smell dog feces from my car! Stay far from this place. I can't believe the state allows them to operate.

I came by first for a meet and greet, and Connie was good with answering my questions (in person and via text) to the best of her ability and let me bring my other dog to see how they got along. We met in a little front room and all other dogs were somewhere else behind a door, so I didn't see what normal living conditions were like. I picked him up a few days later and was told he was in good health and up to date on all shots except two, and they handed me his vet records, which I had requested. Upon bringing him home, I noticed he had diarrhea, sometimes accompanied with blood in his stools. He was drinking a crazy amount of water, and pooped around ten times a day. He was clearly unwell. His vet records showed he had been previously treated for these issues, and I wish I would have been made aware of this before, when I asked about his health. I took him to my vet, and a fecal exam revealed he had two different parasites, giardia and cystoisospora. The vet explained how easy it is to spread and get reinfected by these parasites, especially among high concentrations of dogs. Some older dogs may not exhibit symptoms but still be carriers, while younger dogs suffer quite a bit. I have no doubt that most of the other dogs at this rescue are infected. I contacted Connie about this issue. She said she was unaware my puppy was sick, but understood the circumstances and agreed to pay for his medication. While it was clear to me from the very start that he was sick, I understand she is caring for so many dogs at a time and may not be able to keep track of whose poop is whose, etc. However, other potential adopters need to know the conditions these dogs are in so they can make an informed decision.

You can tell how much they care about the dogs they have there!! They also wanted updates on him and how he was settling in and it was just all around an awesome experience and we absolutely LOVE our new dog!! He is such a sweetie pie and exactly how they described him. I got a like 8 page meticulous medical report on him and his health because he was part of a group of dogs they got from an overcrowded home and quite a few were sick when they got them. It was such a great experience and when we are ready to get another dog, we will absolutely be back! Couldn't recommend this rescue more!!!

I later…read morelearned just shortly after adopting her for $400 that she was actually much older than nine years. Two vets estimated her age to be 12 to 14 years old. We found out she couldn't see much at all. Thiscrescue had to know this information already. There was no mention at all about her health. I believe the foster knew too. The foster told us she felt this shih-tzu was much older!! Bottom line, I would not have adopted her if I knew she was much older than nine. $400 to get her at the end of her life. Sad. I love dogs and am giving her the best end of life years I can. But this experience with AZ small dog rescue was like a switch and bait, thought I was adopting a 9 or old with some decent years left. Instead, she is much older, blind and not healthy. These rescue places need to be more honest in their advertising.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon to look for an addition to our family because our senior dog was…read moreseeming a bit lonesome & I've been wanting a female dog for quite a while now! We knew we wanted a female dog under 15 lbs & a dog that came up to our special needs son, without that then we'd be leaving empty handed. The search was finished once we came across our 6 yr old Stella, she immediately came up to all of us... such a friendly, lovey dog that just arrived 5 days prior to us meeting her!! She's a pure bred pug therefore she still needed to be sprayed & we had to come back the following day between 3-5pm to pick her up.... perfectly fine because it gave me time to go on a shopping spree for anything pink! The adoption fee was $250 plus $14 for her pain meds which was optional. We picked up Stellar the following day with her chip, plus 30 day pet insurance to give us time to sign her up with our own choice & an e-collar to wear for 14 days because of the stitches plus a four day supply of a daily pain med. Now we were anticipating the introduction to our other dog, Sage... at first Sage was scared because of the e-collar but once they finished inspecting each other all was good as if they've been together for years! Stella got attached to all of us immediately & is great with our nonverbal autistic son! Since bringing Stella home we've received all of her medical records via email from Maricopa County. The process was smooth & everyone was extremely helpful with the whole process. Our Stella is so well behaved which means her parents were very good to her thankfully because there's no sign of past abuse! We couldn't be any happier with our choice in Stella & with the location of the West Valley!
