We checked with the Humane Society and surprisingly their prices were so affordable. As to the actual service, I can't believe it how much the Humane Society has changed since the last time we had to do this about 12 years ago. You can decide to be with your pet up until the actual second shot which you cannot see. Or you can decide to just drop your pet off. You also can ask for the body back to keep things cheap cheaper and then take it to the Maricopa County animal control and they will dispose of the body for $15. It is illegal to bury a pet in Arizona. You get an appointment there is a special room for euthanasia. Dimly lit, soft music, flickering LED candles. They come in and tell you exactly how it's going to happen. They ask you when you're ready to let them know. Then they come in and give the shot that will just make them go to sleep then they will tell you to ring the doorbell, which is on the wall when you are ready for them to come and take your pet for the final shot. We decided to go with cremation, but did not want the ashes back, which is cheaper than if you do want the ashes back A week later, we had to put down our other dog that we had for very similar reasons we had gotten both dogs one week apart and unfortunately, they both were euthanized one week apart 16 years later. Unfortunately, it was a Friday and we knew this couldn't wait until Monday and we couldn't get an appointment. We went elsewhere for the second dog, and while it wasn't a terrible experience, it was nothing like the respectful quiet time that we had at Humane Society. In fact, I told the vet how they do things that Humane Society. And she thought all of that was a great idea and said that they had a spare room that they were trying to figure out what to do with, and she made the decision right then to try to emulate what the Humane Society is doing.

I adopted my son (2.5-year-old rag doll cat) here this past June 2025 on one of their free adoption…read moredays. He was already neutered and had all of his vaccines. There was a medical disclosure online. that he had gingivitis, but as a first time cat owner, I researched that this is pretty common in young cats and can self resolve without treatment. About 1/2-year later, he still had the gingivitis. Since he was adopted from and already well known at this clinic, I scheduled an appointment for a dental cleaning/procedure of pulling infected teeth if needed here too, for continuity of care. Upon scheduling the appointment, I had to pay a 10% deposit fee over the phone by reading out my card number, which was about $90, assuming tooth would have to be pulled for total cost of $900 (I DO NOT HAVE PET INSURANCE). Due to this possibility of pulling teeth, this appointment was booked as a surgical procedure. They offer these appointments Monday through Thursday only and lasts all day: You are to drop off your animal at 7:45 AM and pick them up around 4 PM or earlier if the providers done earlier.) Prior to my appointment, I was texted a required prescreening questionnaire which I filled out prior to my appointment. It also came with preparation instructions including allowing your animal to drink water freely but have nothing to eat after midnight. On the day of the appointment, I arrived 15 minutes early as instructed, around 7:45 AM, but I found myself waiting outside the clinic as they opened at 8 AM. I checked in, and was almost immediately taken to a room to be triaged by the vet tech. Then the provider came in, examined my son, and took him back. He was ready for pickup around 3:30 PM, but I was busy and ended up picking him up at 4:30 PM, which did not prove to be an issue. He needed less work done than expected, so I ended up actually paying $375.50 by card (SEE SCREENSHOT ATTACHED FOR THE COST OF THE ENTIRE APPOINTMENT). He did not have any teeth pulled. All in all satisfied with my experience with this campus of the Arizona Humane Society! I adopted my boy from them, and he will continue to receive all of his care from them.

You can tell how much they care about the dogs they have there!! They also wanted updates on him and how he was settling in and it was just all around an awesome experience and we absolutely LOVE our new dog!! He is such a sweetie pie and exactly how they described him. I got a like 8 page meticulous medical report on him and his health because he was part of a group of dogs they got from an overcrowded home and quite a few were sick when they got them. It was such a great experience and when we are ready to get another dog, we will absolutely be back! Couldn't recommend this rescue more!!!

We found out she couldn't see much at all. Thiscrescue had to know this information already. There was no mention at all about her health. I believe the foster knew too. The foster told us she felt this shih-tzu was much older!! Bottom line, I would not have adopted her if I knew she was much older than nine. $400 to get her at the end of her life. Sad. I love dogs and am giving her the best end of life years I can. But this experience with AZ small dog rescue was like a switch and bait, thought I was adopting a 9 or old with some decent years left. Instead, she is much older, blind and not healthy. These rescue places need to be more honest in their advertising.

From start to finish, the entire experience was thoughtful, transparent, and genuinely caring. Our puppy is beyond precious--healthy, happy, and already such a beloved part of our family. You can tell he was raised with care, and that Animal Kingdom truly prioritizes the well-being of their animals. A huge, heartfelt thank-you to Danica, who made this experience truly exceptional. Danica is one of those rare people who clearly loves what she does. She walked us through every single detail, answered all of our questions thoroughly, and made sure we fully understood exactly what we were signing up for--no rushing, no pressure, just honesty and care. She made us feel confident, supported, and excited every step of the way. Buying a puppy is a big decision, and Danica made the entire process feel smooth, personal, and reassuring. We never felt like "just another customer." Instead, it felt like we were being guided by someone who genuinely wanted the best outcome for both us and the puppy. If you're considering getting a puppy and want an experience that is professional, transparent, and full of heart, Animal Kingdom at Arizona Mills Mall is the place to go--and if you can work with Danica, consider yourself incredibly lucky. We will forever be grateful for this experience and for our perfect little golden boy.

MY good friend adopted 2 cats from here. It was a total hassle, horrible communication. And when we went to visit them before the adoption we were accosted by children at some sort of birthday party. The cats were STRESSED. WE WERE STRESSED. They scheduled our meeting with a birthday party for some young kids who were just flicking cat toys in our face and all the cats faces and running around so we couldn't interact like we would have hoped too. When we went to pick the boys up finally( 2 brothers who we were told wereNOT bonded but absolutely were.. thank goodness we took both)(..There was some sort of 'date' event going on and I had people swarming me constantly while I was trying to connect and CATCH the kitties we were taking home. It was a disaster. The price to adopt both was a Little outrageous as well considering you could tell they were fighting for food.... I appreciate what this woman is doing and please please adopt and don't shop, but be ready to spend some money and be frustrated trying to adopt.... Or even get a coffee from this cat 'CAFE'
