Nurses are excellent but you are screwed if you are in the ER with Dr dicky shah. The dept director. He talks down to people and doesn't treat the patient. He also lies in people's charts. I didn't realize till I got home how he stated I was asking for narcotics only. I was embarrassed going to my next appointment until my regular Dr told me to not worry, he knows my personality better than what was written. But what about people that don't have close relationships with their doctor's? This Dr is a disgrace to the profession! read more

I don't leave reviews but I need to leave one. My nurse was great. The doctor I had in urgent care was awful. I think his name was Lin. I came in trying to get a diagnosis for 3 straight days of 102 degree fever and he was in such a hurry to get off he said to me. "Idk. Could be a virus or an infection. Idk. But my best guess it's either or". Ok dick. We dont pay a shit ton of money for your best guess. He sad the same thing to the lady in the bay across from me. These doctors need to be held to a higher standard. Are we a third world country now? It's a rant but it might help you get better treatments and diagnosis somewhere else. read more

Kaiser is not my HMO, but my GF needed a prescription picked up because she was sick and so off I went. Even though the doctor called in the prescription, I still had to check in when I arrived before they would fill the prescription. An hour later, it was finally ready. Why couldn't they start filling the scrip when the doctor called? If I was sick, I would have been sitting in a packed waiting area getting others sick. Since I wasn't sick, I couldn't help but wonder if I would catch something while I was waiting. Compared to my HMO where there are smaller offices for visits and the use of multiple pharmacies to visit, with drive thru, making it quicker and more convenient, I cant see how this is more efficient or safe. At least I only needed to pay $2.50 for two scrips. I don't think my insurance would have been much more, but will give them some credit for that. I for one won't be switching HMO's even though Kaiser plan is less expensive. read more

Extremely long lines at the 24 hour pharmacy and once you get to the front they tell you "Oh you have to go over there and check in. Are you serious!??? Then you're told it will be another 30-45 minutes! I just left without my prescription tonight. In addition it's like a needle in a haystack to find a great doctor. I had an excellent experience at Kaiser's Urgent Care in Baldwin Park tonight. I was lucky that it was fairly quiet, but the staff and treatment were first rate. After coming down with fever and chills for unknown reason, I first thought it must be the flu, but when I tested negative several times, I called the Kaiser Video Nurse service (great service), and she suspected it was a kidney infection, and recommended tests and treatment as soon as possible, So we headed over to Baldwin Park rather than the closer Pasadena office (Hey, Kaiser, please straighten out your opening times and services offered for the various urgent care stations!!), since we knew they would have a lab open. From the first check-in, the staff were phenomenal: helpful, cheerful, thoughtful, and efficient. I got my antibiotic shot I needed urgently, my prescription, and the doctor took my labs and said she would call me tonight if there were issues (rather than making me wait around for several hours more). There may be a lot of complaints about busy ER and Urgent Care at Kaiser, but that wasn't my experience this time. If it had been busier, it would have taken longer... them's the breaks (and they do triage the most urgent cases before people with less severe complaints, which will annoy you if you're feeling bad, but it's the only rational way to run the clinic). In the end, though, it was the people tonight who made the difference: they were all great. read more

I had to go to Urgent Care yesterday for a knee injury and the staff was great. Vanessa Garcia helped me and she was great. Dr. Baker examed me, got x-rays done, and got me an appointment to see an orthopedist. They even got me a new brace that fit better my old one. If you find yourself waiting for a prescription at this Kaiser location, the wait could be-not so bad if you sit outside or take a short walk alongside the pond. This hospital is off the 10 fwy so expect the typical LA traffic if your driving in from anywhere. There is ample parking but finding a spot can take a bit. **Parking is free** Pharmacy is fully staffed and efficient. It is a great facility, thanks to doctors and all medical staff for their handling of my case, however, using one of the restrooms in the ER section, I was surprised finding the toilet paper so close and exposed to the toilet bowl. I believe it is a serious health hazard. There is always a chance that the toilet paper gets contaminated and cause transfer of diseases. read more

Not sure what is going on but this location's urgent care service has gotten worse each time I visited. What is the point of "Urgent Care" if you treating your patients like they have hours to sit around waiting for you to help them? We checked in at 9am but did not get called in until almost an hour later. Turned out they sent us to the wrong waiting room. Once we were in and had vital signs taken, we waited another 30 mins before the doctor came in. This is horrible service. We paid our premium on time every month. Unfortunately my middle child torn his ACL this summer during high school football practice. It has been a long process/ headaches dealing with appointments for X-rays, MRI's etc. Today, we came in for his surgery, and my son was well treated by practitioners/surgeons. Dr. Maletis orthopedic was highly recommended. He once again took his time to reassure not only to my son, but to my husband and myself that everything would be a success. Terrible service, brought my mom to urgent care due to cough and phlegm she was diagnosed with pneumonia was advised she would need to be admitted, after waiting about 4 hours. Staff was super nice but the process sucks. She was told that she needed to go to ER to be admitted. ER was super packed and I asked the receptionist what would the process be since they told her she was going to be admitted. The guy at the front desk told me that he had just gotten there for the day and that he was not sure but that the waut would be long. I let him know that my mom had already been told she was going to be admitted the guy told me she had to wait to see another doctor to verify is admission was needed. They have a pond area with ducks and I love bringing my daughter here when I need to pick up something from their 24 hour pharmacy. Worst Visit Yet! I had an appointment for 11:30am and was told my doctor was running late 30-45 min. After waiting more than 2 HRS...I was told that their system had some "glitches" and my prescribed medications were deleted from the system!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! They just kept saying sorry instead of fixing the problem or explaining what else could be missing from my records. Then, the nurse tells me I can refill my prescription, but not by mail. Inconvenient She PROMISED me it would take no more than 30 minutes or to come and get her and she would handle it. I waited 40 minutes, my name never showed up on the board and the nurse didn't do anything about it when I told her. In fact, all the nurses in that department of neurology were giggling about my situation. I almost snapped!!They are so lucky I am not rude and I was very patient. I miss the nurses they had 5-10 years ago. I am seriously considering switching providers, but will definitely be looking for a different specialist. Usually always good service when we come to Kaiser. And I get it, right now everyone is sick. Nurses and doctors are so over worked and under appreciated. But when I take my daughter in because she has 105 fever, I don't want the doctor to tell me or her, "So you've been sick for less than 24 hours, why are you here?" My response to him was, "My concern was her fever of 105!" His response was, "Well it's not that anymore." Again, I get it. Everyone is sick and he's probably already worked 18 hours, but you're supposed to be a pediatrician, have a little more sympathy. I thought when a fever was that high and nurse advise tells you to take your kid in it's because a high fever is something to be concerned about. Right? read more

This review is for the Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park ER department. I recently suffered a health crisis, and went to the Emergency room on 7/15. I was asked to put my personal belongings in a bag while I received treatment. The nurse on duty, Sunny, took my personal belongings and sprawled them on the floor of the emergency room. This is not only unsanitary, but disrespectful. I was visibly upset. The security guard on staff, Ian, thought it was funny and proceeded to laugh. I asked Sunny not to put my belongings on the floor, which she insisted she had to do. At that point, I requested another nurse who was much more compassionate and put me at ease. I have family that work in healthcare, and they observed Sunny throwing my items away on the ground with no apology offered after I expressed concern. I understand that there are policies and procedures that need to be followed, but there is no excuse for treating your members so poorly. I have many healthcare options through my employer since I work for a large municipality. It's employees like Sunny and Ian, however, that make me reconsider my options. If it weren't for the excellent medical care provided by the physicians and other nursing staff that day, I would switch my insurance provider during open enrollment. Members are often nervous and anxious in a hospital, especially in an ED setting. Kindness, empathy, and compassion go a long way in making your members feel heard, valued, and respected. I hope that Sunny and Ian get the training they need so that they understand how important it is to treat all patients with courtesy and respect. read more

I thought Kaiser was great but I now realize they are so big now that they force everything out to phone calls that get you know where or online to dead ends with no way to figure out what to do to get something done. You can no longer get ahold of your doctor. They are off limits. You must be pre screened before they decide what to do next . U have to go through 10 different emails starting over each time since u can't "respond" when the nurse responds, so I have to start a nee email which is now going to someone new or the same person? Not sure, so have to cut and paste what I'm responding to. So frustrating. Then you're directed to call certain numbers which just loops you to the same stupid shit. If u hold on long enough then eventually I get to talk to someone who may then be able to direct me to the correct department. The healthcare industry is a joke. read more

We took my 95 year old aunt to the Urgent Care on Tuesday 5/13. Informed FATMA HACIOGLU NP that "treated" her she had not wanted to eat or drink anything for 2 days. She wanted to give her a urine test and said she had a UTI. She didn't want to do bloodwork because her excuse was we would "be there for a few more hours". I asked her if she needed an iv she said no if she gets worse bring her back in 2 days to the ER. She sent us on our way with antibiotics without a care in the world. Well my aunt DIED 3 days later thanks to that Dr!! For treating my aunt like another number in the waiting area. Kaiser is the worst for quality care and actual human compassion!!! read more

When it comes to medical services, I get the frustration of needing a referral and appointments are a month plus out. I do need to give Kaiser credit for being able to squeeze in same day appointments if you call them, clinics inside target, and urgent care readily available. Whereas, my former doctor was so busy, I'd be lucky if I can get seen by a PA. This review isn't about a doctor but a staff member in the radiology department. While you may wonder, how hard is it to help schedule an appointment for weeks out? It's how you deliver the service, being knowledgeable, and human about it. Michele C-M helped me scheduled an appointment over the holidays, considered my childcare challenges, and looked up the copay/cost of an MRI. Which is NOT CHEAP. She clearly helped set expectations knowing that this can impact Christmas presents. Offered suggestions and even informed me about some Kaiser assistance programs I never knew existed! She didn't have to go the extra step to be human and considerate, but she did and it made a huge difference for me while I try to figure what's wrong with myself. By the way, results of the MRI showed no abnormalities which is great news! read more

I would put negative stars if I could. Recommendation- Avoid at all costs. 1) their urgent care is at minimum 3 hours. They even have a pre-printed sign that says it is that long as though you should expect it on any average day. Real time wait for you... or just giving you your usual delayed patient care! And to only be seen by a PA (hire more staff if you're trying to provide better access to care. The Pa who saw my mom was obviously overworked)! 2) their COVID testing line is not organized. You got some obvious line cutters who see a shorter line and jumping it. (This is before the 2 lines join together) Maybe consider an appointment system-- Stop a bottleneck! I had a way better experience at LA county testing sites! 3) upon using their facilities, their lobby restrooms ran out of 1) towels and 2) toilet paper seats. Trash was full. I understand there could be a labor shortage, but I have been to other Kaiser facilities and none that have disappointed me to this level. I would try to avoid this place at all cost -- you would imagine that a larger organization / larger facility has their screws on tighter and the service they offer is constantly tested / proven, but no thanks. read more

Give me back 6+ hours of my life!! We had the worst experience for drive thru Covid test ever! If only I could give them NEGATIVE point for an unorganized and poor execution to handle the crowd for this drive thru. Got to the site around 8:30am and tried to figure out wtf is going on with the traffic that lead you to Parking Structure. No signage or any clear direction on where the line start. All we saw was a long line in front of the hospital. Driving around and follow traffic with hope that we followed the right line. Around 10 am Police finally showed up and helped guiding the traffic ... that helped a bit. 11 am we finally looped to the front of the hospital but still stuck in traffic. 12:30 pm we finally entered parking structure hopefully this tormented experience will end soon. Ohhh I was so WRONG!!! Another f**king line inside the parking structure was waiting for us. 1:45 pm we finally got to 3rd floor. They took your Kaiser Card and walked away to go process all the kits somewhere else. Once you loop your car all the way to 4th floor, they sent ppl up there and looked for the owner of each card and handed them the test kits. Hella STUPID! They could have process all of those at the station when they collect the Kaiser Card to avoid all this confusion because I saw several staffs couldn't find the owner of the card and they look all lost because they have to check each car over and over again. After we got our kits - we swapped them ourselves but we still stuck in line to heading down the parking structure. 2:45pm Finally dropped off the kits!!!! We are free!!! Wow - we will never come back here again for this COVID test. This shit is not drive thru. It's PARK AND WAIT AS IF YOU HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO IN YOUR LIFE (oh did I mention there's no bathroom break!) Kaiser - Please open up more testing site to avoid big crowd like this. I feel so sorry for the resident in that area. They can't even get out of their street! I still don't understand why they would have ppl loop around the whole parking structure like an amusement park. That's so unnecessary. We went to drive thru site on Fairfax before the line was long but they executed the whole process very well. In and out less than 1.5 hour. Dr. Khachatourians was the surgeon for my mom's full knee replacement. Everything to this day has been amazing. The doctor is very knowledgeable and professional. Our experience has been so good. Her recovery has been outstanding according to therapists and nurses. I wanted to let the surgeon know he did an amazing job and pass my thanks. Also, staff, nurses, therapists at Kaiser are doing great. Please be kind to them as patients. They are overworked and still work with a smile on low sleep. Care quality has gone through the floor awful! Both lab results and X-rays were done and still waited over 4 hrs just to get sent home.
