This review will be for Kaiser's COVID clinic only. I'm not a Kaiser member. It was good of them to open it up for everyone to get the shot. Appointments were easy to make on Kaiser's website. They even had a walk in clinic if you did not make an appointment. Parking was free in their crowded parking structure. Signs were posted outside the structure to direct us in the right direction. When we got to buidling 2, they told us to go upstairs to check in. The only issue we had was that the person checking us in was either new, or didn't know how to process non members. It took a while before she asked her co-workers for help. By that time, people who came later than us jumped on ahead. The vaccination clinic was like a giant mill. They had a large room with seats. One area for Pfizer, one for Moderna, one for J&J, and one as the waiting area. After getting your vaccine of choice, you were to go to the waiting area where they would call your name after 15 minutes and return your vaccination card. They did their job and gave me my booster. I like the mass vaxx cite at the Pomona Fairgrounds better. I like staying in my own car throughout the entire vaccination process. Kaiser is better than the mass vaxx site at Cal Poly Pomona. Kaiser will get the job done for you if you need to get vaccinated. read more

A Disneyland for medical services, hooray! Lines, lines, lines is how I would describe Kaiser. A line to get in to park, a line to check in, a line to drop off your medication, a line to pick up your medication, blood work go to the next building, pull a number, sit down, wait for someone to call you to check in, check in, then wait for your number to be called! Really Kaiser, for such a reputable company, one would think they would employ more people and be more cognitive of their patients time. Laboratory, 125 people checked in and only 3 stations drawing blood! I came last month, a day after a holiday and had a 2 hour wait even with an appointment. When I reached out to someone they said they were behind because of the holiday today. Kaiser, you guys a day late on that holiday excuse. I miss my PPO! read more

This review is for Kaiser's SECURITY TEAM. I would rate them Zero stars if I could. I was there two weeks ago for the birth of my child. My car was parked on the second floor of the parking garage. When I walked over to my car around 8am, I discovered that two of my tires and rims had been stolen. I immediately walked over to the security office to request Support and quickly realized they were on very little help. I stood at their lobby waiting for help as a group of them stood in the back talking, with no one on the reception area. Once a security guard approached the reception area, I explained what happened and asked them to call law enforcement. He told me he couldn't do that and that I would need to call them myself. A guard walked me to my car and forgot to mention that the car had been discovered by a supervisor around 4:30am. I only learned this after he told the police this. With two tires and rims missing, I asked how I would get my car up and running and the guard suggested I go to the local dealership to purchase the tires and rims and I stall them myself. Definitely not what I wanted to hear as I had my newborn child and wife were upstairs ready to be discharged later that morning. The officer that came out was very supportive and shared that this happened several times already and that they had encouraged Kaiser to install cameras in the Parking structure (other than the elevators and stairways). Once I walked back into the Kaiser facility, I mentioned what had occurred to a staff member, only to learn that the same thing happened to her while parked in the structure. The nurses were excellent and truly went above and beyond to help. They called over the head of safety and security to discuss this matter. He apologized and assured us that the matter would be addressed. Fast forward two weeks later: I am sitting here at Kaiser by the Starbucks area watching one security guard have a conversation with a patron for AT LEAST 15 minutes, completely disregarding his duties, forgetting to wear a mask, and cussing. As I pull in, I see another guard off on the side of the structure smoking a cigarette. Why is the security team not doing its job? They truly need to step up their game. I expect more from Kaiser and it's employees and/or subcontractors. read more

They will send it to a Kaiser pharmacy no matter how many times you tell them, spell it out and draw it for them that you're pharmacy is a outside pharmacy. Sadly no real responsible and professional person available to help get corrections made. read more

All the doctors there are horrible. They don't understand or care about patients needs. They are non compliant in understanding patients anxiety. And won't admit to the hospital before a surgery procedure. Dr ethlimd Cheng is a bitch and will not accommodate my needs for the sugery. She claims it is not medically nessessary to admit me cause of my heart condition when I'm having strokes thinking about the procedure. Therefore I'm going to have to cancel the whole procedure. read more

I came here recently for a blood test, the parking was pretty easy to find. Make sure to get a number before and wait for your number to be called. They will call you to get your info and stickers for blood vials. They will call you again in about 15 minutes for you to get your blood drawn. It was quick and painless! read more

Sitting here in waiting room right now in Head and Neck Surgery department. I can hear receptions called a patient and canceled it. My thing is HIPAA. She is saying patient complete name, department , date of appointment, etc. but it gets worse, she says, I need to cancel appointment for Monday because Dr R**** has COVID. What in the world... You violated the law and released two individuals PHI. Doctor diagnosis should not be disclosed. He deserves privacy. Ladies want to talk and gossip, take it to the break room. read more

I went last night to the ER not because I was gonna die but I felt my throat (neck area) uncomfortable and was swallowing Unregular. Adam's apple felt kind of off. I went in knowing I had to pay something regardless but went anyways because of how I felt. Doctor came in checked me said I'm exaggerating and I'm fine. But I told him I wouldn't come for anything'. He was very rude and unprofessional he didn't really care about me as a patient. He dispatched me and told me all good no error told his coworker to up charge me also. And I payed 235$ and with insurance. I was mad and sad and unsafe and told them I needed a second opinion. And they let me in. The other guy doctor checked me and said I had swollen muscles on my neck (throat area) and he can see the muscle swollen up. And he said I would feel hard times swallowing and which is exactly what I felt. And that it would go away in a few days and to keep relaxed. But the other doctor who helped me passed midnight first was useless and eager to leave room once he stepped in. I pay insurance and do my part and why cant they? I drove from Alhambra ca to West Covina knowing I had very low money and gas just to get horrible treatment. Plus they took for ever. I would not recommend location what so ever. read more

Well today I took my father into Kaiser Baldwin Park to have surgery and I was NOT allowed to take him up to the check in area nor the pre op room. Last time I was able to go up with him no problem. This time I was asked if I had a Covid test done within 72 hours Not one time did they advise us this was needed! My father is 87 years old and wanted me to take him up but No! She then asked me if I was vaccinated...hello what happened to Hippa law? Anyway I was told that if I was not fully vaccinated (fully vaccinated- what does that even mean?) I would not be allowed to take him up. I do not believe it's anyone's business whether I have been vaccinated or not! Was in the ER room for some time now and when we finally get a bed no doctor was to be found. The whole time we were in the ER room the nurse was taking care of us. He kept asking have we seen the doctor or talk to him yet and we said no. We even got our exit paperwork and yet the doctor never came to us to explain what happen or what was wrong. I had to read it from the discharge papers what was wrong with my baby and so mad the he just put dehydration wtf kind of place they running were I get charged $250 and more later on and yet never seen a doctor? MISDIAGNOSED, and was blamed for eating " greasy food. " Came to urgent care on Thursday and was misdiagnosed.my symptoms got worse, called the nurse hotline and she recommended that I go back to urgent care the doctor basically disregarded my opinion , and in a way put the blame on because I was eating too many greasy food . Ordered blood work, and IV fluid. 2 phlebotomist who were the sweetest tried they're best. I was poked 3+ times , by different size IV needles. I wanted to refuse treatment. The Md talked me out of it and I allowed them to try again and they missed in the same arm 4 times. I refused and left with an AMA. I did a home test , and went to a clinic , I have COVID. I wasn't getting stomachaches , fever , nausea , cough and chill and terrible headaches because of " greasy food ". I was getting them because I have COVID. Urgent care is absolutely useless. The only reason why I give them 2 stars is because my PCP is absolutely amazing, he's the only reason why I haven't left KP or else I would've. read more

Kaiser Permanente's Specialists and Lab Services are great, and they really do treat you with care, but their ER, Urgent Care Center, and their 24 Hour Pharmacy could be better. Their Urgent Care has been improving over the years, but the wait times are still an issue. For some people, it's still 1 hour and a half for care, and other patients it's longer. The ER is the worst with the longest wait times: up to 3 or 5 hours depending upon how busy they are. Also, the ER Staff has terrible bedside manner. The 24 Hour Pharmacy is crowded and the lines are always long. They now have a number system, and that doesn't really help either. They need a second pharmacy in the main hospital, but for some reason they refuse to open up another pharmacy. read more

DO NOT COME HERE. i took my son to the ER bc they ONLY have urgent care pediatrics from 5-7. all the front desk women couldnt answer any questions about my billing or wait time ( mind you my child is 1yrs old & was literally throwing up in front of them!). Veronica H. took my sons vitals & asked me 3 times if i gave him motrin ( i guess she wasn't listening or even reading her notes that she was "typing." Veronica proceeds to look for a thermatat in a dirty, messy draw and SHOVES it up my sons behind w/ no compassion or caution! and just smiles when i told her he's nvr had this done to him. a boy nurse with dunks & a hickey on his neck called us in and said only one person in & when we asked the front desk lady she said 2 visitors were in there, which is a lie. the boy nurse sat me in the room didn't even say anything and just left. i've never walked in into a more dirty room than this one. there was trash left behind, the tray wasn't even sterile/cleaned, the floor had BLACK FOOT PRIINTS & SCUFF MARKS, when Veronica said they were going to clean the rooms & then call us in. i ended up leaving bc the treatment they give to patients especially A BABY is inhumane. i guess Kaiser isn't a hospital anymore bc there's literally no procedures for cleanliness, no one can answer your questions, nor can they have any sympathy or compassion for patients that are going to the EMERGENCY ROOM. read more

So this review is for the Urology Dept only. The hospital staff are amazing. I had a very unsuccessful Ureteroscopy at this location. The Urologist failed to collect all the remaining kidney stones that were broke apart during this surgery. He even admitted it. "I don't know how I missed these." Four days after the surgery he took the stint out and by the time I reached my car I collapsed and was rushed to the ER via ambulance across the street. There they discovered all these remaining large kidney stones. Woops. I was sent home later and then continued to get sicker and sicker over the next four days. I tried relentlessly to get an appointment and was finally able to go get blood work done here in Pasadena first thing in the morning on a Friday. Turns out I was in septic renal failure as I only have one kidney. This is exactly what we were trying to avoid by having surgery. Urology called late afternoon and said I had to rush to the ER in Baldwyn Park, which I did. (on a Friday at 4:00 p.m.). From there I had another 2 day stay in the hospital. When I was released and sent home I started to finally pass these stones. (I had forgotten about that nightmare since the renal failure.) This lasted a week. Then after a week of hell on earth I went back to the ER in horrible pain where it was discovered I now had acute pancreatitis from all the trauma. (No Gallstones and I don't drink which are symptoms) Another hospital stay. What was originally a $180.00 surgery is now over $2,000 in med bills. Not to mention I missed an entire month of work. read more

This is specifically for the emergency department because I have had a great experience at the main hospital. However, the ER was so traumatic I'm rating that specifically. I waited a while before posting this because I didn't want to be too emotional. However, I did want to post this to try and prevent someone else from going through this. If you are having a miscarriage, DO NOT COME HERE! I was having a miscarriage(not my first so I know the drill). But this was the worst experience of my life. I'm going to make a really long story short. I was given a cup to pee in that already had someone's pee in it and it got on me. The man who gave it to me came into my room while I was vulnerable, bleeding, and in nothing but a gown to give me excuses to make himself feel better. I needed an ultrasound and wasn't allowed to have my husband. I was taken somewhere else and told to leave my belongings. Then I was left in a cold hallway with ANY INFORMATION to why I was there or how long it would be. I was left in the hallway for 30 minutes in a gown, alone, with no phone. I felt helpless and on display for the many people walking by me. I was given a vaginal ultrasound with an intern in the room. I was used as a lab rat so she could practice on me. I was crying and grieving and she was soooo excited she could locate all of my insides. It took double the time because she was practicing. The doctor talked to the intern 90% of the time while I sat there bleeding. Normally I would stand up for myself more aggressively, but I was so beatened down it took me a while to speak up. Met the doctor again. She told me I "had a chemical pregnancy which means you were never pregnant and this is just a period". Other doctors corrected that and said that it is the most common type of miscarriage, but I was pregnant. Felt like she was diminishing my experience. I was there for about 4 hours, not bad I guess. The place was UNSANITARY. I felt like everything was gross. Once again not my first miscarriage, so I'm familiar with the experience. However, this ER experience led me to seek mental health help. I wish I just miscarried at home. I will never return if I have any say. read more

This is mainly for the Covid testing. I was able to secure a testing kit thru the E-Visit questionnaire which allowed me to visit Kaiser and to take the test without any appointments. Called day before and was told they opened at 8:30AM so I came here a little bit earlier expecting a line in which a lot of people were doing the same. The line looked very long but once it hits 8:30 line moves very quickly. I've taken a Covid testing before at the Dodgers stadium and WOW Kaiser was way more efficient in their process. From start to finish, it only took me 15mins compared to 1 hr and a half at Dodgers. read more

I understand there is a virus but not all sick people coming have it. You can not be controlled by fear. Maybe this is not your calling. There are great doctors in the world and I've had the pleasure of meeting a handful. I will be complaining to the Supreme Court. Thank god the nurse director had a human heart & ws compassionate enough to hear me out and see that my case was uniques and not at all related to the fear, or I would have been exposed. Visited the ER 2/19/25 while waiting for placement for my child. The ER Staff and security were loud having casual conversations in the hallway. Our stay extended from late afternoon till 2/20/25. Staff had no regard to late hours and the needs of my child who needed to get rest. Staff need better training on how to be respectful of late hours. The room we were for over 12 hrs was dirty. read more

I'm 5 days post op and I was having acute pain, so I went to the ER. It was shift change so I was very understanding of the wait time. I was just happy to be in the ER and going to be seen. The staff at check in was very patient with me because of the surgery I had I talk very muffled and low. They took their time with me and really listened. Once I got to the back the nurse who helped me was very kind. I really wished I remembered his name, but he was great. He made sure I was comfortable and warm. He explained everything to me and reassured me that I would feel better soon. I met with Dr. Flood who was a gentle soul. He was so kind and made me feel very comfortable. He made sure to provide me with the care and medicine that met my needs and symptoms. Both these gentlemen were so amazing and I just wanted to shout them out. I really wished I could remember the nurses name. But just know you were great sir. I appreciate the kindness because I was in so much pain. I definitely left feeling much better and happy. read more

May 30th, 2024 I took my Mom to Urgent Care for her severe arthritis pain she's been experiencing lately. The P.A. was Jeudine while the LVN was Liz. We were highly pleased with Jeudine- his professionalism, patience, and knowledge were highly appreciated throughout our visit. If we could have him as our primary physician (even though his title is P.A), we would happily take him each time. Our nurse was okay. I believe she should have more training courses when it comes to her interactions with her patients. A bit short and direct and not always taken in the best manner. I believe she means well, yet needs to be aware of her tone, patience, and compassion with all patients. Overall, a great experience. read more

Kaiser is the worst. I can't get an appointment with any doctor, can't get a spot at urgent care (they are always at capacity) and ER wait is about 9+ hours long. I was experiencing chest pressure with headaches & high blood pressure. Couldn't book an appointment with a doctor because the appointments are 2 months out. Couldn't get urgent care to help because they were at capacity (doesn't make sense since there were very little people waiting). I ended up going to ER since I had no other option. I waited 4 hours to only be told by a rude nurse that a doctor won't be able to help me with my high blood pressure, not unless it was extremely high; basically I had to be dying to get help. She told me it was better for me to see someone else then to wait in the ER as there was no point in waiting. At that point, my blood pressure reading was higher then when I first got there. I don't know what kind of nurse encourages a patient to leave the ER. These type of nurses don't belong in this field. Glad I got to see how Kaiser truly is. I pay about 2k a month and I get 0 help from them. Next year I won't spend a dime on Kaiser. read more

Everyone we worked with was kind, helpful, and competent - it put our family at ease during a very stressful time. So I understand why hospitals get bad reviews. No one is ever happy to be there so they are more on edge and grouchy. My mom was admitted because she has cancer and needed to have a kidney removed. Scarey. But I need to say this hospital was very communicative and really on top of her care. Her 2 nurses were great. Answered every questionand made sure she was completely comfortable. Very happy with them. What really impressed me was having Felicia the department Nurse Manager go to each room personally to check on the quality of care my mom was receiving. She was genuinely interested in mom. Same with the case manager and pharmacy. Just a great caring group of people. Thanks for taking such good care of my mom. read more

If I can give this place 0 stars I would. If you're looking to wait 3 hrs to be seen if your sick this is the place to be. I came in for chest pain and shortness of breath (heart attack symptoms). I was taken in and then forgotten... the nurse made sure I know it was over a 3 hr wait and said the people who are the sickest get taken in first. Understandable but after the wait it felt like my pain want not validated and I would of appreciated them saying "hey go home". On top of the wait there was SO MANY people waiting! Elderly people and children and no one is helped. There in NO SEATING are to wait. They only have chairs lined up in a hallway... for a company this big this is unacceptable. On top of waiting so long this place is dirty. No where to sit too. I use to think this place was good and this is who I wanted to to be taken care of! I will definitely be changing that. It's so disappointing to have experience this. Sadly you're better off calling 911 or going somewhere else than this location. To whoever manages this facility do better! Look at the reviews people in your community are leaving here and listen to the feedback of people in person. read more

It pains me to leave a bad review because I've had good experiences here in different departments. Both my kids were born here and both my wife and I have had surgeries here as well. With that being said, my bad experience today was in regard to their ER. Not that any of these reviews get read anyways since all replies are the same generic message that directs you to their email, but there it goes: Firstly, we all understand how difficult the ER is and I've waited long hours in the past with no complaints. I took my toddler in today and waited for 3hrs while watching other more severe cases get priority, which is normal and understandable. I don't have any complaints about this process and it's always been like this, even I've been on the benefiting end of this process. Today, I watched as security wheeled in a man who complained he was having issues breathing and chest pain. Nurse asks him what his name was and he if he was a Kaiser member. "I'm homeless" was his response. They continue to have a full on conversation about his medical history and his breathing problem suddenly disappears. Regardless, they wheel him in immediately and he never comes back out. If all they did was take his vitals, he should have been out relatively quickly. This is all beside the point. There is a room and hallway full of paying members who have been waiting for hours and they chose to treat someone who was obviously faking their urgent health problem, was homeless, and not even a member. Please advise that my issue isn't with him being homeless. It's the fact that he clearly wasn't having the urgent episode as he was claiming. He should have waited being all the paying members. After having a conversation with the front desk nurse, I was told my son isn't priority and the wait could last upwards of 8hrs. She said there was nothing I could do to help my son and they would only see him quicker if his situation worsened. Needless to say, the obvious choice was to leave and wait in the comfort of my home until my son worsened, then return and he'd be seen quicker. What. A. Joke. read more

My MIL visited the ER for stomach pain during the 7am shift. The nurse who drew her blood was visibly angry and rude from the moment he entered the room. He was intentionally rough and aggressive with my MIL. He used a tourniquet to draw blood and tied it painfully tight. He wasn't careful when drawing blood and caused severe bruising. Having a bad day is not an excuse to mistreat patients. This is completely unacceptable. read more
