Type of Care- went in for a lab draw at 715am this morning. Fewer people in there at that hour, was a quick stop on the way to work. Care Quality- pretty good. Didn't have much to complain about for a lab draw. Office Experience- minimal. There was one person behind the desk but the queue was formed by the number on the ticket you take. Think of the numbers you used to take at Corti Bros. at the deli. In and out fairly quickly this morning. And still not a hospital. They'll call you a ride to a hospital. read more

I have been a Kaiser patient for most of my life, since it was the Health Insurance my mother chose. I will always credit them (Dr. Gonzalez) for saving my child when the cord wrapped around their neck, and I had an emergency Cesarean. Now, as a Senior, I still receive excellent care. This Kaiser facility is small, cramped with little privacy when you check in. The front desk staff need to brush up on basic customer services skills (ie. Greet the patient, make some type of eye contact, stop having conversations with your co workers in the middle of checking in patients) I've had several PCP's at this location all of which were gatekeepers (the way Kaiser trained them). They will not refer you to specialty care. They are rewarded by Kaiser for low referral rates. Their goal is to not let you past the PCP level. This leads to shoddy healthcare, mis-diagnosis', emotional trauma for the patient and permanent lasting physical damage. This is the Kaiser way. If you cannot advocate HARD for yourself this is not the insurance company for you. read more

Went to Kaiser ER in Vacaville on Thursday because my grandson fell. He hurt his right foot, so they took X-rays of his LEFT foot!!!! Yes, you read this right!!! All over his chart it said RIGHT foot, when my daughter took him down to X-ray they confirmed RIGHT foot then they had my daughter step outside to do the actual X-ray and they did the X-ray on the wrong foot!!! Today is Sunday and they just uploaded all the info regarding the X-ray and right there is the perfect left foot!!! Oh, my grandson is still limping...called Kaiser they said she could bring him back to the ER again, pay $50 again, wait again to get the correct foot but they don't recommend, they said just give it a few days and they message his dr and then maybe they will X-ray the right foot...ok Kaiser you won! You had a bad reputation but we gave you a try but you've messed up with us and now our grandson...our entire family is leaving Kaiser! They have messed up with us too but we just put it down as simple mistakes but this kind of stuff happens all the time!!!Kaiser do better!!! Follow-up My grandson was given a walk-in at radiology yesterday. Yes we had to wait but at least they did the X-ray on the right foot this time. And yes it is broken...but he can't see a dr until Thursday!!! So last Thursday they did an xray on the wrong foot - after he kept limping we finally got PERMISSION to bring him in and it's broken...so one week after that child broke his foot he will finally be seeing a dr this Thursday-so unacceptable...you need to give people competent care...they don't care about patients at all - so Kaiser's bad reputation continues... read more

If I could give Kaiser Davis Eye Department negative stars, I would. My husband waited two months for a routine eye exam, only to be turned away because we were 15 minutes late -- traffic on Highway 80 and an unexpected detour caused the delay. Their "grace period" is 10 minutes. Despite the office being empty, we were denied service. The front desk staff member, Jen, was dismissive, robotic, and showed no compassion when I asked for understanding over five minutes. This lack of humanity is unacceptable in healthcare. We've been Kaiser patients for eight years and have endured repeated disappointments, but this experience was the last straw. During open enrollment, we will be switching providers. As a professional healthcare advocate with 15+ years of experience, I can say with certainty that Kaiser consistently fails on service, compassion, and responsiveness. Davis Kaiser has always been good to me. I've changed doctors once or twice, but Kaiser makes it easy to do online if you don't vibe with the doctor you picked or was picked for you. They've accepted Medi-Cal for at least 15 years and the staff treat you the same as any other patient. I don't think they know you have Medical-Cal unless you tell them. If you do, they work to make sure your otc meds are as inexpensive as possible if they can't find a way to prescribe them for free. Pharmacy is great, RARELY out of any meds and IN NO WAY racist. It's Davis. Of course racism does happen. It's just a fact in the US. Always has been. But it's generally less common in Davis. And yes, there are good and bad doctors and medical professionals everywhere, even Kaiser, but it's treated me much better than "Dignity" aka Mercy. Dignity/Mercy quite literally almost killed me due to multiple mistakes and mistreatment until I had a life threatening DKA. At least three doctors dropped the ball and I had to go to Sutter to save my own life. I almost lost a kidney, could have lost my life. Never going back to them after so many similar experiences. And of course, with Kaiser, the insurance is in-house so no risk of dealing with the abomination of insurance corporations, UHC, BCBS, etcetera. Not sure what the last reviewer was talking about, honestly. Seems like they were having a hard day and a bad experience to go with it, which is terrible. I'm sorry that happened, but in 15 years with Kaiser, 8 of those at Davis Medical Offices, I'll say the best medical decision I ever made was to switch to them. I can also recommend Sutter Health Systems in Davis and Sacramento in general - also good if you have Medi-Cal. There ARE staff shortages everywhere after all the burnout and early retirements due to aggressive patients and the trauma of COVID times, but my recent experience with Sutter Davis was very similar in terms of staffing. And of course, every corporation is trying to cut costs and maximize profit, though Kaiser is technically a not-for-profit organization. Their plan rejection rate is 8%, not like United Healthcare at 32%, Aetna and BCBS following close behind. Overall, I'm glad I made the switch to Kaiser back in 2010. Definitely the most incompetent healthcare provider in history. I do not mean their medical care -- which is passable. I mean their administration, which has no idea what it is doing and which creates innumerable headaches for anyone unfortunate enough to be a patient in their system. Over and over and over again, one department is completely unable to communicate with another department. Kaiser Permanente needs to get rid of its top management and replace them with people who, for a change, have at least an inkling of how to manage a healthcare organization. Came in not knowing that there was no urgent care provided, which was on me, but the receptionist was rude and spoke to me in a tone that was very patronizing and overall off putting. She spoke to me almost as if I didn't understand English. Overall bad experience customer service wise. read more

Just be mindful when you go to the lab and have a specific type of name related to the watermelon region. (IYKYK) I cannot say more about this experience as YELP flagged my HONEST concern. That lady was nice but there is a line you don't cross when making small talk. It is impossible to get appointments the same week or even a week out sometimes. Dr. Sung is incompetent, she will not only waste your time but she's always running to her next appointment trying to cut your appt time short and does not listen to you. I don't believe she's comfortable stepping up and handling the "dirty/icky" side of being a doctor when it's needed. I had to spend 9 hrs in the ER because she insisted I did not need to be drained and a cyst would relief itself. Later in the ER I found out that was not the case. There aren't good doctors here. I believe next year they are accepting Medicare so there will be influx of patients on top of the ones they cannot accommodate I suggest you RUN. Will be looking into changing my coverage next year. Pharmacy does run out of a lot of common meds. The staff is amazing and helpful as they have no control of the inventory can't be angry at that. read more

It is as time for my flu shot so drove down to see if there was a long line. Only a couple of people ahead of me and there were tents along the line for the sun or rain. You must wear a mask. They had a sign that they only had shots for elderly and children but right as I got up to the front the had just gotten more doses of the regular shots. They were set up right inside the door to the pediatric area. Walked right up and after showing my membership card I was given the shot and on my way. Nice setup. read more

Hands down this is the worst Kaiser pharmacy I have ever been to. all of Sacramento, Vacaville, Vallejo, Napa, Oakland,ect are faster. There is one line for both drop off and pick up that goes down the hall and a round the corner. Once you Waite for an hour to check in and drop off you squeeze into the waiting area with 25-30 pleople to wait another hour to pick up your prescription. Not onky is this incredibly poor service it's also a high exposure limited space covid risk. I thought Kaiser was about stopping the spread and timley care. so disappointed the service at this pharmacy was so horrible.... alsoy name came up in board to pick up and I could pick up because that line had no pharmacy tech and by the time I got to pick up my name had been up there so long it dropped off the pick up board. Probably the most unorganized and unstructured Kaiser I've been to. I've been going to this Kaiser for four years now and they never fail to disappoint. They are like children that I have to constantly check up on and remind about things. For example, asking for a prescription refill request never actually gets through to my doctor the first time I call and they always say they will call back but never do. Today I called over an hour ahead of time to have my prescription ready to pick up. Once I get there, turns out they never started on it and now I'm at the back of the line waiting 45min to get it filled. read more

Kaiser member all my life (born at the now-closed Hayward hospital), the Elk Grove medical offices are most convenient when I'm home, otherwise South Sac or Morse for emergency services needs. Davis branch is down the street from my office and is an easy walk to pick up prescriptions, get lab blood draws done, optical center, member services, etc. An old building for sure, and a small facility but gets the job done. If you do need emergency services, Vacaville is closer to Davis than driving all the way to Sacramento. Not sure how it works with billing if you go to the Sutter hospital in Davis. Pharmacy open M-F 9am-6pm, Lab M-F 7:15-5:30pm. read more

I've been super fortunate to almost always have positive experiences with Kaiser and that continues to be true at Kaiser Davis. All of the doctors that I've seen in Davis have been considerate of my concerns and never rushed me out to get to their next patient. However, that being said, I have had to wait fairly long wait times (probably as a function of my prior statement). All and all, I think doctors taking their time with you is a net positive, but it can be super frustrating to have to wait a while for your doctor to be ready. That said I've only had really positive experiences with the lab and radiology departments. The pharmacy can be hit and miss because during really busy times, the line can be long, and the wait time for them to fill your prescription can be quite a while. Again, I don't necessarily think this is their fault though. It's unfortunate we have to drive to South Sac or Vacaville for a Kaiser hospital, but for just being medical offices, Kaiser Davis really delivers! read more

Horrible. After weeks of trying to get an appointment, I finally got one. I waited 45 minutes while watching people who came after me be called. After asking if it would be much longer, I was first told I didn't have an appointment with the doctor even though I was already checked in and was showing her my appointment details in my app. Then I was told the doctor was double booked. I had to leave to get back to work and asked if I could have my copay back and reschedule but the receptionist just asked if I would like to wait longer. I love Kaiser because they have an all-inclusive approach (doctors, labs, pharmacy, optical: all in one building). Davis is a good location because it's never too overly-crowded. I am so frustrated and unimpressed with Kaiser Permanente. I am having to switch providers because the level of care was so poor. I have been shocked by the bad service at the pharmacy and my interactions with the doctors. I have a chronic pain condition and live in CA because the state allows me to treat my condition with medical marijuana. I was told at Kaiser, that they do not respect patients rights to use MMJ in CA and have a national policy against its use. They test every 6 months and if you test positive they won't allow you to be prescribed any other medication. I am on medications where I could die if I stop taking them abruptly, so this policy terrified me. In addition, the paperwork and red tape has made it very difficult to get my prescriptions from previous doctors accepted by my Kaiser doctors. Even though I have KAsier insurance, I have to pay out of pocket for drugs that I have been taking for the last 8 years and could die if I stop them abruptly. What a waste of money this insurance is. I have only had extra chores and expenses since getting it. It has not been beneficial in ANY way. Oh and that doctor who told me about the MMJ testing, also justified it by saying that people were dying from taking MMJ, which is just not true if you look into any of the research. You CANT die from MMJ alone. It is simply not toxic even high amounts. There have been no reports of deaths from MMJ alone and research continues to support its safety. So, I was very disturbed to hear my doctor telling me this misinformation. You would think that she would have the training to either not comment on things she hadn't researched or to have more familiarity with the topic if she does. read more

Literally the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Although I'm all for judging a hospital based on medical services, I have been unable to even obtain these due to the idiotic advice nurses that block patient's access to appointments like feral monkeys. The first time I called to make an appointment was last fall. I had a fever of 102 while on medication, severe congestion, a cough, and a throat so sore that I spoke in a raspy whisper. After putting me on hold and transferring me so many times that I became fatigued and almost passed out, I was finally passed off to an advice nurse who refused multiple times to book me an appointment or even a strep test. My friend suggested it might be because I have insurance and so they can't bankrupt me as they would like to do. I am inclined to agree. I ended up not seeing a doctor at all and having an on and off fever for the next week and half and a cough for another month. The second, and LAST time I will ever be dealing with the kaiser appointment system is today. I called in for an appointment because I sprained my ankle two days before and had been experiencing increased swelling and numbness from my calf to my toes. I was transferred to an advice nurse who, I kid you not, spoke exactly like Miss Swan. Not only was she impossible to understand, but she was also highly incompetent. Although she agreed that I should get an x-ray ASAP, she was unable to figure out if the Davis location had a radiologist on site (what kind of hospital is unequipped for x-rays?!) and put me on hold for five minutes as she tried to find out. She wasn't able to, and suggested that I drive to the Sacramento location for urgent care. This is after I told her that my RIGHT ankle was the one that was injured. I declined, and she insisted, and then I asked for an appointment in Davis, and she declined, and I hung up. And now I will be shredding my kaiser card into itty bitty pieces and stuffing them down the gutter. read more

You have to sit through messages and punch buttons for two-three minutes just to ask the simplest question (like, does my plan cover service X), and chances are you'll be told you need to call another department. No wonder everyone says Kaiser SUCKS!!!! I got a new job, that gives me Kaiser Medical Insurance. And so I called my rite aid pharmacy to get Perscriptions refilled and they told me to let them know which Kaiser pharmacy to send them to to get refilled. However, Kaiser pharmacy's only open while I'm at work so by the time I got home I had to call the corporate #. A girl from the corporate office said she couldn't find me yet in the system, but understood that I needed my Perscriptions refilled ASAP and gave me a temporary membership number. She said all I had to do was give the temp number and I'd be able to get refills asap but they would be at full price. I don't care about the cost, I just care about getting my refills. Well, fast forward to today when I got off work early and called the Kaiser Pharmacy, this lady tells me I'm not a member yet. And so I had to explain the whole situation and gave her my temporary member number, she basically said the temporary number meant nothing and that they won't even request my Perscriptions until my active date. UMMMMM NO!! I reiterated that I understood I wasn't active yet, and that's why I was given the temp number DIRECTLY FROM THE CORPORATE OFFICE so that I could get my refills asap!! This lady put me on hold to double check with someone (who knows if she actually did) because AGAIN she tells me that Kaiser won't even begin to help me until I'm officially and active member. I said thank you, and hung up! WHAT WAS THE FUCKING POINT OF GIVING ME A TEMPORARY MEMBER NUMBER IF IT DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! long story short I now have to wait nearly three weeks for my antidepressants.... so If I go crazy and fuck some shit up, guess what Kaiser... We love Kaiser Davis. The place could use a few updates and some technology improvements but overall it's a small clinic and we're able to get in and out quickly. The online services with Kaiser are the best and it's very easy to make appointments or get prescriptions filled. I try to do prescriptions by mail when I can, but I do have one medication I have to pick up in person so Kaiser Davis is where I go. Never had a problem receiving any referrals to specialty care in Sacramento or Roseville. read more

It's a smaller medical office center, but it's definitely nice to have the hospital my medical insurance is under right across the street from me when I'm away at college. The pharmacy is quick and so is the optometry center. Appointments are usually right on time unlike the bigger KPs. read more

First of all, I really like Kaiser, the health group. Every one of the Kaiser staff that I have met are really friendly, even if they may not be helpful. The good thing about the Kaiser in Davis is that wait times are short and it's easy to get an appointment with your doctor. The bad thing is they only have a pharmacy, lab adult medicine, pediatrics, and ob gyn. If you need something else done like specialty or physical therapy, you either need to go down to Vacaville or Sacramento, which is really inconvenient for me since I don't have a car. The quality of their physicians are above average but I wouldn't say the greatest. It's really frustrating when you have been dealing with something chronic but the doctor is unwilling to refer you to specialists because he thinks there's no need for it. I honestly think that the patient flow in Davis is too small and SOME doctors lack experience with treating confusing cases that are uncommon. It may be my bias but I think doctors in the Bay Area have more experience than those in the Sacramento-Davis area, even though Sacramento gets all sorts of patients. read more

I've been a long time member of kaiser and love everything the Bay Area Kaisers have done for me but wow I am not used to the spotty service from kaiser up here. I'm trying to call the number I found on yelp and the davis kaiser keeps ringing all the way, with no operator or automated message available. It just rings 10+ times and then automatically ends call. And then I tried calling the Vacaville office in hopes to get some direct line to Davis' office, but the line is busy and hangs me up. Are phone operators supposed to be THIS unavailable for medical centers? And if there is indeed another direct number, there should at least be an automated message from whatever number is provided on yelp. This phone unavailability, especially from a medical business, is just BAD customer service. read more

I always hear of people complaining about how much they hate Kaiser, but personally I LOVE Kaiser! I have had Kaiser healthcare all of my life because of my dad's occupation, and I dont recall ever having a problem with any of the offices. I have used the Davis office for 6+ years now, and have to say the location is great, it is never too busy, and everyone working there is friendly and knowledgeable, especially in the pharmacy and Women's Health center. I will be sad to relocate to a new office when my job requires me to move from Davis. read more
