Service is usually fast here because the Pharmacy is well staffed. One window closes, another will open. If you're waiting for your meds, they call you to the counter and get helped right away. You shouldn't wait in line twice. As a patient, I came here to get an emergency refill for some meds I didn't receive. Great experience here over the course of years and many visits. Prescriptions are always handed over accurately and there are never mistakes. People who work here are competent and the good part is its always the same people. No problem with employee turnover. The pay and benefits must be good enough to hold onto talent. The biggest complaint you'll hear about a hospital pharmacy is the wait time. I think my longest wait time at this location has been 3-5 minutes. To make my life easier, my husband drops me off, I run into the pharmacy and I'm back out before he can even park. The service here is excellent but if you do not have an urgent need you should get it delivered in the mail. They send it out usually from Dublin or Livermore and it can take quite a few days to arrive, Get your initial prescription here first and then once you get it, 7 days before you run out get it by mail because there is no charge for it. They do have a lot of OTC medicines here although they are way more than what you pay in retail. The worst pharmacy experience I've ever had. I have been a Kaiser member my whole life. I just recently got my first chronic condition that involves using medication regularly. It's a difficult time. I came here for my very first refill and the pharmacist chewed me out. Scolded me like I was child because I came into to early. Jump down my throat like I had just insulted his mother. He said "you know how expensive this medicine is?" It turns out, my co pay covers the full cost. So I'm paying the full cost out of pocket. But this guy was horrible about it. Also you do you know what's expensive? Being a Kaiser member for 40 plus years. Now I'm afraid to take the medicine because I'm worried I'll have to deal with that guy again. I was so mad I wanted to strangle him. I may just avoid San Leandro Kaiser all together. read more

Kaiser has done a whole lot to make the pharmacy lines move smooth and efficient. I timed the moment I arrived and it took me a total of 8 minutes and 24 seconds from check in counter. To waiting time then collecting once my name hit that monitor board! Because of Covid they are limiting people coming into the hospital and that also helps the amount of people coming into the pharmacy. Wash stations, temperature checks and questions before entering the facilities. Kudos Kaiser staff for all you guys are doing!!! Stay safe! read more

Kaiser Pharmacy is a big improvement over Walgreens/Aetna so far, after an initial glitch, meds have been on time and cheaper overall. the waits in line are short. 4-5 windows open for dispensing meds. also been given recommedations for cheaper alternative to current meds. parking isn't as bad as it looks. walking is good for my health i've been told. (cheaper too when meters don't need to be fed). read more

I'm always in and out of this place pretty quickly. It may be due to the time and day I choose to show up, but I feel like I've been frequently enough and at varied times and days enough to say that in general, this place runs pretty smoothly with minimal wait time. I tend to call in or order online and have my prescription ready when I get there. So, I actually bypass the first drop-off line and go straight to the pick-up line. This is probably why I am able to get in and out pretty quickly. Otherwise, if I haven't called it in, it is normally no more than a 10-15 minute wait as they prepare it, which is also not bad. Especially since I've picked up Duolingo practice on my Spanish and reading for pleasure again. I take the wait with ease and enjoy catching up on some pleasurable distractions. read more

My doctor forgot to send down a prescription so the pharmacist at the consultation window went out of her way to try to get a hold of her to get that prescription filled even while it was busy. Very quick! I believe they are open 24 hours as well. I realized a friend of my friends works here, and to make it not awkward for me (which totally wouldn't have been) stepped away for a second when I was next in line. Another person helped me immediately and this worker came back. It was one of those moments you could totally tell. Over all the other kaiser pharmacy I prefer this one for many reasons they staff us super friendly and they know when ur getting meds u are not always in the best mood they understand. Also they are open 24hrs. How many times I have ran out of a med and I can come here and get a refill. Yes it's it's like 1 am u might have to wait depending on the demand but to be able to get in the same day or night no matter the time that's a big plus. Also they are quite organized and easy to talk too. So even if am in union city or in San Jose kaiser I will send my meds here since I know I come here after traffic hours or as late or as early I can get here. Plus since I am disabled transportation can be a pain to get. Since am sometimes in too much pain to drive myself. And don't want to get a lyft in traffic hours. read more
