This is an All-In-One business, Jensen does the design plus runs things, and he is a fortunate blend of talented but also experienced. Just take a peek at their website - those designs are both cool but also thoughtful. We wanted a total backyard redo, including turning a pergola sitting unused in the middle of our yard into an outdoor living room cabana complete with a metal roof and decking flooring. We wanted so much, including but not limited to: ripping out an ugly stone patio off the house's back to replaced it with a roofed over decking floored dining area, then adding an open patio area with metal planters and built in decking bench seating. We wanted landscape lighting, welded metal edged flower beds, more planters, and by the time the project was almost done we added in having them do high quality artificial turf. They had to do wiring, plumb a propane line for a propane fire pit they made out of a huge boulder, roofing, metalwork, decking, planting design and implementation...they reworked and updated our irrigation... It was a lot and they were just amazing at all of it. Jensen cared as much about having everything done right as I did - and I am very picky about quality. And I can proudly say this backyard now looks amazing - like the boutique resort hotel outdoor lounging I was hoping for. We love being in that yard as much as possible now. I had some general ideas for what I wanted. From the first design consultation, I knew they were the company to go with. Jenson's designs were far more creative than other companies I had consulted. Not only was the design interesting from the start, but Jenson kept working with me to iterate and improve on the elements. I mentioned that I maybe wanted a fire pit, and he found a way to create an incredible firepit centerpiece with a "floating" boulder. To complement that, he also made seating with a similar floating ascetic. Nothing was cookie-cutter; everything looks completely unlike anything I've seen from other companies. Not only was the final product great but the crew was a pleasure to work with as well. They all clearly have a passion for what they do and it shows in their work. The selection is incredible. They have everything- indoor plants, outdoor plants, trees, shrubs, succulents. I loved it so much that I brought my husband back the very next day, and we stocked up on even more plants and trees for our yard. The staff were friendly and helpful- they carefully wrapped up our plants so they wouldn't make a mess in the car and even helped load everything into our vehicle. What he especially appreciated is that OES is about so much more than plant installation. They have skilled welders and carpenters on their team, who completely transformed our property. They took us from flat spreads of dying grass to outdoor LIVING spaces, inviting our family and friends to enjoy the Austin weather. Angelica and Matt bring expertise and hands-on experience to every project, large and small, and they also know how to listen to the needs and wishes of the client. Throughout the years, we have used them for three major projects: transformation of three yards (involving steel retaining walls and steel and wood pergola), design and installation of a custom steel fence, and a swimming pool with limestone patio, wooden decks, and custom steel gates. If a problem arose--such as the gate shifting due to shifting temperatures--OES was always quick to respond by sending someone over to correct the matter. We give OES our highest recommendation.

The owners both greeted us and invited us to "explore and enjoy" the grounds and to let them know if we had any questions or needed any help. There are a couple four-wheeled carts around to help you shop. The indoor section features wall art and other unique finds/gifts. Currently you don't need a mask to enjoy the outdoor areas, but you are asked to mask up for inside. =)

They have many beautiful plants and they are placed so lovely, it's like walking through a garden. They have a very large parakeet area where they have rescued parakeets. They have a beautiful turtle with pond that is the size of a pool and the turtles are currently having babies! There's herbs, there's perennials, there's annuals. There are Texas native plants. The nursery is surrounded by beautiful large trees. Their shaded plants are shaded under the shade of these beautiful large trees. I truly enjoyed myself. The people who work there are so helpful and kind. I asked lots of questions and they never got tired of answering or smiling. Their prices are medium, you can probably find some herbs and plants for less money, but you get what you pay for here. Their plants are an excellent condition and very well cared for. I bought a Sago palm, a chamomile, and an Italian parsley. I highly recommend you visit!

From the…read moreexterior, I underestimated the scope of the establishment, but soon the realization of just how massive and nicely decorated the place was. Most likely you'll first park your vehicle, then walk in the main entrance with its grand rustic signage. Perhaps you might miss the rope swing to your left, and instead you might be drawn to the rows of plants on your right. You might snake in further to under the tarp covered area. Or perhaps you'll venture inside the building at the front. You might check out their aviary, try to find their two tortoises, turtles, or admire their pottery selection. If you go in far enough, lights string themselves between trees towering above you. If you go all the way back, you'll find a sheltered greenhouse area with some neat displays. In the fountain area, water will be aerated, and alligator heads will float around. You might go around reading signage describing various plants, how they can be used, conditions in which they thrive, or how they drip irrigate their nursery plants. Some signs suggest they can source plants for you if needed. You might encounter the friendly people running the place who'll explain to you how everything works. But other, it's a nice e area to walk around. Across the other side of the parking lot, they have a museum set up inside a large garage. Entry to this nursery is free, but if you're looking to buy a plant, you can grab a cart, find your selection, and then bring it over to one of the checkout stations that they have setup. Otherwise, there is plenty of space to walk around and explore.
