I had a really positive experience at Barton Springs Nursery. It's in a nice location with plenty of parking by the nursery, and is across from Wild Birds Unlimited, which is also pretty cool. I came here on a weekend afternoon and it wasn't too busy, and there were a lot of options for plants. I had a few questions about different types of seeds to plant and the staff was very helpful. I am a newbie to gardening and I did not feel any type of way from asking them silly questions. I ended up buying a few different types of seeds which were at a good price, and they have been doing pretty well so far! I will be back for other planting needs in the future.

This olive treeus about 5-7 years old and were about to purchase.

We love how informative the staff is at Barton Springs Nursery, in Austin. The quality of care provided for the plants is so evident. We were very pleased with how thorough the process was from purchase to installation. Highly recommended!

I love big planters and I can not lie! And Barton Springs Nursery has some of the best selection of large planters. This is one of my favorite nurseries! They have a friendly, resident cat and an outdoor bird habitat with some pretty parakeets. The purple wisteria is stunning when in bloom! They also have a cute gift shop and some unique outdoor furniture pieces. It's definitely a sensory experience!

I love this place so much. They have such a wonderful selection of houseplants, outdoor plants, and trees / shrubs. The staff is amazing, they're always available asking if you need help and very educated. I enjoyed walking around for hours, the vibes were so peaceful.

The cutest little nursery tucked into West Lake Austin. It's right near the the Randall's I shop by and I stopped by with my boyfriend to pick out rose bushes for our backyard. They are pet friendly and we also brought our dog. Everything was labeled and organized nicely. Staff was friendly. You can pretty much find anything you need for your backyard.

I absolutely loved this nursery! I came needing inspiration to get back into planting and found just what I needed. The staff was so helpful and willing to answer any questions I had. Those that helped had many plants of their own, and gave personal experiences on what worked for specific plants. I really enjoyed stopping by and will be back!

    What's with all the overwatering?

I've given this nursery a few chances but they really aren't great. Their houseplants are pretty sad looking + unhealthy. See my attached photo of an overwatered plant that's growing moss. Only upside is their large planter selection which are on pricier side tbh. Also, the employees are kinda rude + rather do something else other than helping you. I tried checking out once but their ticketing system during the pandemic is awkward. I waited in line for a while until I just dropped the items and left. I'd recommend checking out The Great Outdoors + The Natural Gardener which are a few minutes away from this place. You'll have a more positive experience.

    Succulents!

The cold weather killed lots of plants in our yard, and even with a car choked parking lot, Amy took time to personally help me with 10 large pots. She even recommended a spray to preserve some plastic succulents. My pots were ready by Easter weekend and my new pool deck is lovely!

My husband went to the Westlake location today instead of the 29th Street location because it was more convenient and came home and told me his experience was like mine -- the staff was unavailable and somewhat dismissive. They told him there would be a three hour wait for gift wrap. Another customer got very frustrated with the lack of help checking out. Hopefully corporate reads these reviews and uses it as an opportunity to hire different managers and/or train the staff better at this location. This has been a longstanding problem at this location but is NOT a problem at the other Breed & Company locations.

Every piece in the store appears to be intentionally curated. Maaribu melds a home and gift shop with an in house café and bakery, creating an experience that's both relaxing and memorable. According to Mable, my server, Maaribu is a combination of the word Marfa (Texas town that has the Prada store) and Malibu. The brand is often described as combining Marfa's creative spirit, Malibu's laid back lifestyle, and clean Scandinavian design. The shop portion of Maaribu is beautifully styled, featuring furniture, décor, books, and gifts that have a modern flare. All the items are easy to peruse and get drawn in. The use of color is playful and engaging. Maaribu's key highlight is its café and bakery. The in house café has an assortment of coffee, wellness beverages, and dedicated gluten free baked goods. I bought a Rose honey latte, which was divine along with a multi-layer pastry. Mable said customers enjoy the quality and flavor of the pastries...scones, muffins, cookies, brownies, and egg bites are frequent favorites. Importantly, the café is reported to be fully gluten free, which makes it a standout destination for people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivities, without sacrificing taste or variety. The outdoor seating and patio area add to the charm, making Maaribu a great place to enjoy coffee and pastries on a nice Austin morning. After years in Austin, I finally discovered Maaribu--a modern, eclectic coffee shop and store. Every item is thoughtfully curated, blending a home-and-gift shop with a café and bakery for a relaxing experience. Outdoor seating makes it a perfect spot to enjoy coffee and pastries on a pleasant Austin morning. Wow...Maaribu!!!
