Kaizen MMA has been apart of my life since 2020, and it has changed me for the better. It helped me gain confidence for myself, during a time where I was lacking such. This place challenged me, and ultimately made me a better fighter and better person both mentally and especially physically. We have used the program as an extra curricular activity after school, after school care, school holiday care and most recently summer camp! This location has an awesome amount of space! The mats are clean and the facilities are nice. I come here for bjj and there is a lot of beginners but sprinkled in there are some serious trained killers. They are super approachable and helpful in supplementing my game with technique. I've been training in Kaizen for 10 months and I've enjoyed every single day of it. I have taken all the classes they offer and have never been dissapointed. My favorite class is Enshin Karate taught by Sensei Nima. Kaizen has been a great journey for me so far and has improved me a lot skill wise and mentally, both inside and outside the Dojo. Kaizen offers 1 week free trial to everyone which is enough to determine if the place is the right place for you. I liked the place in the first day of my trial. Im sure you will too. If you are a fan of combat sports and want to become strong both physically and mentally then Kaizen is the right place for you. Kaizen wont make you strong. You will. I trained at Kaizen MMA for a year and half, taking mostly the BJJ classes. I'm a blue belt, and have trained at a couple other academies over the years as well. There is a lot to like about Kaizen. They have three locations close to me, in Falls Church, Vienna, and Fairfax. All three facilities have a good amount of mat space, and my membership allowed me to train at all three, without having to pay any extra fees. Between the three locations, there were many options to train during the week and weekend. I paid one low monthly price, with no commitment, and I got an unlimited number of weekly classes at all the locations. This included their advanced classes, BJJ, Muay Thai, wrestling...everything. Compared to what I have seen at almost every other academy, the no-BS pricing is very refreshing. My main instructor was Kyle Dalton. He is currently a brown belt, but his game is legit black belt material. He helped me win a couple medals at the local competitions recently, and I was really grateful for the time I spent training with him. The gym also has a good number of active MMA fighters. It was nice to train with them sometimes, and benefit from their advanced wrestling experiences. The academy is closely affiliated with the kid's Enshin Karate program. I have a 6 year old son still currently in the program, and it was nice to have both my program and his program in the same place. The fact that I trust them with my child in the after school program should speak volumes. No place is perfect though, and one thing that I would change if it were up to me is extending the classes from 1 hr to 90 minutes. It is very hard to effectively progress on your cardio and technique in just a 60 minute class. Overall, I would recommend Kaizen to anyone in the area, looking for a no nonsense, local, convenient place to train BJJ. read more

I started training at Kaizen MMA in Falls Church after living in DC for over a year, and during that time I had been to virtually every MMA gym in the DC area. Some were better then others, however none seemed to have the total package for a reasonable price. When I got to Kaizen, I found exactly what I was looking for, as they have world class instructors and a highly competitive fight team, while at the same time being very affordable. To be able to train with guys like Kamal Shalorus or Najim Wali is an honor in itself, and the rest of the team members push each other to be the very best with no ego or usual gym politics. The head Coach Nima Mazhari has a diverse mma background, but brings in the very best instructors and his own useful insights to the gym. I feel that I learn only what is useful and effective, and not commercial or flashy. I have recommended many people to train at Kaizen and will continue to do so as I feel it is the best gym in the DC Metro area. read more
