Ladies, if you're tired of walking crooked, you can find one guy with a small boto at this place. Plenty of braddahs over here who like to compensate for having small botos by buying big trucks all seem to congregate here at all hours, but mostly at 1-4am. So come here and take your pick! You just have to deal with the trash that looks like it hasn't been taken out in 1-2 months. I would say you only have to deal with it one time but it seems all the small boto guys with the big trucks all hang out here every weekend, and all of them on the island show up all at the same time, so if you want to go out with these guys you gotta get used to the smell of trash read more

Really disappointing experience, waste of time and money. We arrived and had a hard time finding campsite 10. There was no sign for #10 but we found a tiny spray painted "10" on a tree near 8 & 9 The 10 area was loaded with trash - I'm talking a huge pile of trash bags and lots of un-bagged trash just on the ground next to a bunch of empty beer boxes. We would have had to move the trash to camp there. It smelled like a porta potty and there's a burned out abandoned truck near the site. Trucks were having fun ripping through the sand which is cool but not when it's literally cutting a path through your campsite. We didn't stay which really sucks cuz we opened our schedules and spent a few hundred bucks for the camping weekend. I can't find a number to call and let them know it's not our trash but I'll keep trying cuz wish a mf would try to blame me for that trashy shit. Can't blame tourists either that's home grown disrespect. read more

THE worst camping experience I've ever had. Would give 0 stars if could. Firstly when arriving at the front gate, people have taken to dumping old mattresses and appliances, which is a terrible start. Once finding our campsite, the trashcans were completely overfilled, and the smell of the porta potties filled the campsite. The table that was a part of our site also only had one barely-usable seat, as the other one was rotted to the point where any weight would cause it to bend forward. Fire pits are non existent, so charcoal disposal is almost impossible if not self-provided. The sand is dirty and will turn your feet black within the first 30 minutes of your arrival. It is also too soft for tent spikes, and unless you have stuff inside to hold the tent down, any breeze will upheave your tent. The harder area was too rough, as there was rock that prevented the stakes to go down more than half an inch. On top of that, anywhere usable by a tent is lopsided and uneven due to the sands. There are no private showers and porta potties are the only place to do your business besides the bushes. Homeless crowd the camp, and there are many stray dogs and cats running around. We woke up our first morning to find that some of our food and our trash have been rummaged through. Fire ants, wasps, flies, cockroaches and mosquitos also crowd the areas so without repellent it can become very annoying. But THE WORST part is that throughout not only the WHOLE DAY AND NIGHT, many people would pass through directly by our campsite (#7) in off-road vehicles and race them along the beachside, less than 20 feet from the tents. Even throughout the night, people are screaming, popping fire works, blasting music, and racing. Our first night we were kept up by the looping of the same song from 10pm all the way till 6am, with people screaming. The second night, the off-road racers started coming around 3pm and did not stop in the slightest until way into 4am. Sleep is not on your side when you come here, and you will be up all hours of the night dealing with the lack of consideration by others. There is no breeze, and things get very hot and muggy very quickly, on top of the uneven and saggy sand. Definitely will not be coming here again, and the city and county should be ashamed of letting a park like this be ruined, yet still having the audacity to charge for the experience. read more

Worst place to camp EVER! Seems like a good place to relax but no, There are lifted trucks everywhere that races from night to morning. Roaring their engines, racing back and forth nonstop, blasting loud music, the worst part? High beaming the crap out of your tent while they pass by you every 30 seconds. Seruously?! No respect for other campers whatsoever Other issues were : - the benches were broken so they were unusable - the porta potty stenched so bad - the showers were broken -had big dips of puddles that you'd have to drive through But seriously, the true worst part were the trucks :,) read more

The location is decent, you definitely feel like you're camping upon arrival. HOWEVER, this place is super crowded, there were people coming and going at all hours of the night, partying. It says no Dogs allowed but multiple dogs were there. (I love dogs so that's ok, just clear people don't follow rules here) there were NO PRIVATE SHOWERS, all were outdoors, and NO BATHROOMS, port a potties only, And it was quite a hike to access them. Also, this place was really hard to find, there's no exact address on the map. Don't think I will go back to this site. :( read more

7 years ago this place was such a Gem. No Homeless, Clean bathrooms and a good beach break. However over the years their have been an influx of homeless, that in late 2016 the state decided to add a gate so no cars drive inside after 5pm. Weekends is open to drive in and camp if you have a permit. Weekdays remains open but you have to park outside. However when it rains it can get very swampy. Only porta potties available, which can make it unsanitary for some. The good thing about this beach is that it is very secluded, and it can be a good longboard surf break when we have variable winds. Many surf schools have used this place over the years so the break can get crowded. The seasons and tide effect the beach so the waves expose the reef near the shoreline which make it very difficult to get into the ocean. Great place to teach early morning surf lessons with your friends. Be careful where you walk because there are kiawe thorns here and their. Also after the weekend it can get very stink because of all the trash that does not get collected. Good for surf lessons but that's about it. read more

As soon as we arrived we decided that we did not want to stay overnight. There was litter everywhere and the sites were very unkempt. There were many sites that had busted picnic tables (with holes in them and missing benches) which is literally the only feature of the site. The "comfort station" is permanently closed, they have portable toilets and public showers instead. There are "permanent campers" there as well, depending on how you feel about that may or may not make a difference. read more

I'm giving this park one star because I have too if I could I would give it a zero. The decision to camp here was one of the worst we ever made. The park is so run down with the bathrooms being down and all the tables are broken which is so dangerous with rusty poles sticking out of them. The outdoor showers are swarming with bees and wasps that you're battling while dealing with the freezing water. As soon as we got there we noticed squatters all over the beach areas and in the numbered campsites. The grounds were covered in fire ants and not to mention all the flies and mosquitos everywhere, the most I've ever seen. All around the park was dangerous chopped wood that was left after cutting down the trees. This place is not safe for kids even the beach waves are rough and rocky, the current is so strong and washes up all kinds of glass, plastic, and dead carcasses. At night it's so dark you can't see 2ft in front of you and kids come here to party and leave their mess. Bottom line is I would never return to camp here or even take my kids to this beach, unless the City & County steps up and takes care of this camp grounds. read more

Oh my gosh this was a beautiful place to take you're family and just have a fun day but now it's just over run by homeless. There isn't any bathrooms but port-a-potty and theres a bunch of them but only one works and it's seriously disgusting. The beaches are spectacular but the camp grounds are neglected and dirty. I would like to see this place be taken cared of more so people can enjoy this area. read more

This has the potential to be a great campground. As the previous poster said the location is okay and yes it is tricky to find, don't use your gps as it will not get you to the right place. Here are my pros and cons: Cons: -Upon arrival to our site that we paid $32 for there were 3 huge bags of garbage, tons of flies and horrible stench, There was also what appeared to be a large tent frame or pile of metal that had been dumped off there. There was so much rubbish everywhere that I was too embarrassed to post any pictures of our stay. -The picnic table was rotted and one of the benches was broken off on each side of the posts, the other side was too rotted out to be able to sit on. -Garbage garbage everywhere! -The comfort station has been closed apparently since February so porta-potties are all that are available. -At about 10pm the continuous traffic flow in and the of the park began. Some of the people parked and stayed a while partying loudly but mostly they just drove in and out ALL NIGHT LONG. It was very odd. -The beach is not swimmer friendly and as can be expected of the area, the ocean is super dirty. -Cars driving through the campsites, not just on the road. -Due to the riff-raf in and out all night, I was a bit concerned about safety - and I'm from Waianae! -No Trespassing/Government Property signs everywhere so there is no enjoying the surrounding wooded area. There is nothing to do but sit at camp or look at the dirty beach. -The picnic table at our second campsite was also so rotten and broken that it was not usable. Pros: -We were able to move to a different campsite that was available that only had one bag of garbage next to the trash can. -It was quiet in the evening - until 10pm. -The porta-potties were clean and well maintained. -Several working showers throughout the park. -The park worker that came through Saturday morning to remove trash was very friendly. He did make it a point to voice his irritation about the campers without permits, too many people and cars per campsites and the over abundance of rubbish left by said illegal campers - I'm guessing they have no authority to do anything about it despite the paperwork stating otherwise. We cut our stay short and left after breakfast. I will not go back to this campground or recommend it to anyone. read more

If you read the City/County FAQ and what's not allowed here, you'll pretty much have an idea of what IS happening at Kalealoha. Long-term squatters without permits, generators fired up for movie screens and power tools, loose dogs (none threatening, thankfully), fires on the beach, drinking. Someone was set up in our reserved campsite when we arrived and had been there long enough to pitch a tent, awning, and chair - we just moved on. The beach has a rocky shelf along the shore, making it inhospitable for swimming, though beautiful. Clearly, there is no oversight happening at this park. The only positives: there was a trash can at the campsite, the outdoor shower worked, and the nasty port-a-pottys had TP in most of them - though non-campers drove in to use them in the AM. read more

I'm glad I read some reviews on how bad this place was before coming sadly after it was already booked. Unless they fix it up this place is very terrible. Covered in caution tape, with a lot of people living in the spots you pay to reserve. No bath rooms. out door shower is swarming with wasps. More flies, fire ants and termites then I've ever seen in my life. Dangerous logs cut up & laying everywhere. Abandoned cars. people drive through, partying and drinking all night. Tables are completely broken and dangerous pieces scattered everywhere.. Beach is very rocky and Rough. Dead sharks washing up left and right. The only Good thing is the camp ground and trees make you feel like your in Tahoe.. Won't camp here again unless the city and county take responsibility and clean up This park, put up gates so people don't drink and party all night long when campers want to sleep.. Also got the stomach flu staying here I don't know why but this whole Camp is barely enjoyable! read more
