An outstanding experience!…read more My family and I came for a birthday celebration and had an AMAZING time! Check-in was easy and effortless with the kiosk. Even our bracelets printed at the same time from the kiosk. The room was spacious and clean, located halfway down the hallway, which we loved because we avoided the elevator traffic noise. The food was very pricey and pretty basic. Once we ate, we headed to the park, which was an experience! The lazy river was a nice pace and the temperature was perfect. The rides were lots of fun and the lines weren't long at all. We also explored the adults only area, which was the cherry on top. It was quiet and the drinks were excellent. Overall we LOVED our experience and can't wait to return.

Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly frustrating and disorganized. Our point of contact was Jeselle Corpuz. For over a month, we were repeatedly told by Jeselle they were "working on our group rate," yet they still expected our group to commit to staying there without knowing the actual cost. We would receive emails at the end of the business day with no new information -- only that they were still working on it. Keep in mind, this was coming from the manager of group sales. We emailed several times and rarely received responses. We also left multiple voice messages and never received callbacks. We even contacted corporate, only to be referred back to the same person who had been unhelpful throughout the process. Communication was slow, unclear, and lacked professionalism. After waiting weeks with no concrete answers, we finally decided to move our troop's trip elsewhere. We ended up booking another waterpark, reserving a different hotel, and even adding another group activity -- all with far better customer service and much quicker responses. It was especially disappointing because our Girl Scouts voted for this as their end-of-year trip. We were prepared to bring not only the girls, but also their families -- which would have meant a very large group and significant business for Kalahari. Unfortunately, the lack of competence, communication, and ability to provide even basic information made it impossible to move forward. In my 10 years of planning end-of-year troop trips, this is the first time we have been unable to give the girls the trip they requested and voted on. Over the years, we've successfully planned trips to Great Wolf Lodge, Epic Waters, Jellystone, SeaWorld, the Fort Worth Zoo, NASA, Moody Gardens, and many other destinations, and we have never experienced such a frustrating and poorly managed booking process as we did with Kalahari.

The food was genuinely excellent, and the service was warm and attentive throughout. The bed was also a standout -- more comfortable than what I've experienced at most four-star hotels. I also loved the in-room Nespresso machine, which was a great touch. The only drawbacks are the location and setting. It's not ideal if you want to be close to a more metropolitan, walkable area, and being right on the creek means there can be quite a few bugs, especially in the evening. Overall, I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing, stylish getaway with great food and very comfortable rooms.

This charming, quaint boutique hotel is located in a residential neighborhood in Round Rock, TX. The Ruby Hotel & Bar is situated along Brushy Creek in historic downtown Round Rock. The hotel has 39 uniquely designed rooms and suites, in the suburbs of Austin, TX. The hotel blends mid-century modern design with natural surroundings, creating a chic vibe. The property is distinctly divided into to major buildings...the hotel and the bar. There is a random small building up front also...not sure what that buildings for. There is also outdoor seating, which would be pleasant in the summer. Last night we had freezing temperatures, so sub-optimal for seating outside. When we entered the bar, we felt transported to another place in time. Retro looking furniture at the entry with finger dialed phones...my nieces and nephews would likely not have any idea what these little machines called telephones were. The bar was a mix of old - building built in the 1960s....new - modern mirrors and bar. There was signage at the front of the bar that stated to seat yourself and place your order from the bar (different set up...for sure). We ordered the hummus plate minus pita bread plus more cucumbers. Alan, our server was very accommodating to make that switch. We had herbal hot tea (chamomile and pomegranate berry). We listened to the 3 person band, who sang music from Johnny Cash to Bob Marley and so many different genres in between. What a lovely evening...date night score!

An unforgettable experience, but definitely room for improvement given the price tag…read more Miraval austin is one of those aspirational properties that everyone looks forward to. As one of Hyatts flagship properties you would only expect the best there. Wish I could say I got the best, but it was mostly good. The problem is with the activity bookings. Every individual person has to book their own activities and there's no description vs. The detailed calendar on Miraval. Also, the site defaults to the first day after every activity booking. And lastly, most of the activities are taken that a person would be interested in. I got a few calls from an experience coordinator to help but they're always during working hours where someone is... most likely working and they aren't available after hours. For a property north of 1.5k a night, not being able to accommodate guest requests for a core concept is not acceptable. Other than that, everything was mostly fine. The property itself is not far from Austin but definitely feels isolated. Check-in process was mostly seamless, no upgrade given Globalist which is a bummer or even mention of looking for one. Check in later in the day around 6PM and there's no tea at Check in (gone for the day!?). However, the quick property tour and lift to dinner was nice. Food was definitely close to 4 to 5 stars. Order as much as you want. The bread was amazing. View even more so if you sit outside. A lot of things are grown from their local farm, definitely have a balance of vegetables and proteins. Everything was delicious and fresh, had amazing wild boar chops the first night and got a full 2nd order. Also got a great whitefish. Menu changes every night up to 4 nights, so the pork belly, duck confit, and shrimp and grits were highlights. Breakfast had amazing yogurt and fruits. Lunch was meh, burger was lacking, but the steak tacos were great. The room itself is not full luxury but very comfortable. Water filter, the largest selection of tea and cold coffee, water heater. Perfect to sit while being on the balcony. The bathroom is also decent size with great water pressure. Bath products fairly luxurious. The activities were decent, good instructors and energy. Most of them are intimate enough. Wish they were a bit more active to burn off the calories from the food.

I started my trip off by spending a few days in Austin staying near South Congress (highly recommend). Then wrapped up my trip with a three night stay at Miraval. Best time to book is during cyber Monday. They have been having a $300 night credit for spa/activities. That was a perfect amount to try different things during my stay. The rooms were very nice. The bed was honestly too soft for me. Yes it feels heavenly but I need a firm mattress for a good nights sleep. I really liked riding a horse while I was there. I was nervous about it but it was in a nice controlled environment with one other person. I felt very safe. The instructor was awesome! The food was great! I love the focus on being present and not using a digital device. I didn't use my phone or watch TV my entire stay. When I left I felt so at peace! The pool areas are beautiful! I enjoyed both guided hikes and would recommend. I also liked the educational nutrition classes and fitness classes. My favorite classes were line dancing and Tex Mex yoga. They should offer that more than just once during the week! Next time I come I would like to do the labyrinth, floating meditation, a cooking class, and kayaking.

First of all, the view of Lake Travis from the villa is amazing! My wife and I stayed in the "Milan" room, 800sq ft of comfort and luxury, for our anniversary. From the huge living room with a view of Lake Travis, to the big comfy bed, to the jacuzzi-style tub in the bathroom, we felt like we were staying at a 5-star hotel. The staff and manager were incredibly friendly and helpful and laid back! I could only find a few issues with the villa. There were hairs in our tub, so I cleaned it myself prior to my wife and I using it (which I didn't mind doing, as I am not snobby or beneath a little cleaning). Also, the bathroom window has no blinds or curtain, so when other guests decide to venture down to our patio, we have to be lucky not to be showering or standing nude at the time that they do. However, these couple little things are not enough to make me lower my rating of the place! Overall, the villa is amazing! A nice place to have that luxury feeling while being the perfect place to relax! I HIGHLY recommend this place for romantic getaways or for relaxation getaways. My wife and I would love to go again sometime for another mini romantic getaway from the kids.

The property reminds me of something that you would see in a movie somewhere in the southwest where people are just trying to hide out and not be found. It has such a cute rustic feel, with a lot of Texas flair. From the minute you arrive, you are given great service, greeted with amazing sense of essential oil, oils and leather with their signature fragrance in the form of a candle or room spray. For just $30 we were able to check in early at 1 o'clock instead of three which was great since I drove in town and had a lunch reservation, this gave us time to get unpacked and rest for a minute before heading over to the restaurant. They have lots of options in the mini bar, whether you are wanting an adult drink or just something cold and fizzy. When we arrived, they did give us a complementary bottle of water as well as a cold beer that I sat out on our little porch and enjoyed as the rain started to come down. I love all of the detail put into these rooms, it is such an amazing property, but I'll be honest there were way more kids than I expected, but it was Easter weekend so I guess a lot of families were traveling. I really wanted to get into the pool, but it was massively crowded. They have an outdoor bar as well as a café on the property that has live music and an enormous fireplace and plenty of big screen TVs to watch sports. Every evening they light up the fire pits and if you want to make s'mores, you can purchase a s'mores kit for just $10. They do not allow smoking in the rooms but allow you to smoke on the little patio outside your door. This has definitely become one of my favorite places to stay in Austin, which is difficult because there are so many amazing places in Austin, but Lone Star has definitely stepped into my top five. The young man that checked us in was great and he comped our valet parking! Truly phenomenal service. I'm looking forward to coming back!

This boutique hotel delivers a resort-inspired experience with an upscale twist and is known for its vintage charm with modern amenities. I arrived on Friday night and check-in was efficient, I had to provide my credit card for incidentals. I was given a choice of beer or bottled water upon check-in. The host directed me to my room location. There were several parking lots on the property and I was able to park close to the building with my room which was convenient. The provided a parking permit for complementary parking. The rooms offer a seamless blend of modern comfort and relaxed luxury and well-designed with a very open floor plan with a farmhouse door separating the restroom from the bedroom area. I was on the third floor. Each room had rocking chairs out front for a relaxing vibe. I especially appreciated how easy it was to step right outside and be in a communal space. it made connecting with others throughout the weekend effortless. One of the highlights was the courtyard area. Whether it was live music, lounging by the pool, or just gathering around in the evenings, the atmosphere felt lively without being overwhelming. It struck a nice balance between fun and laid-back. They had many communal areas set up with fire pits and a nice outdoor communal bar area where we held our silent disco. They also had a great event space where they hosted our group. The Water Trough bar and restaurant provided a breakfast and dinner dining experience. They also had an indoor bar area with live music for entertainment. Only issue was they did run out of food at dinner. The location in the Domain is also a positive. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance, so there was always something to do between retreat activities. If I had to point out a downside, it would be that the social atmosphere can get a bit noisy at times, especially if you're looking for a quiet stay. But for a group event or weekend getaway, it actually adds to the charm. We contributed to the noise with our outdoor kareoke set-up. Overall, Lone Star Court is a great choice if you're looking for something comfortable, stylish, and built for connection. Perfect for group retreats or anyone wanting a more lively, communal hotel experience.

The room was very nice and the hotel is clean. We stayed on a Sunday-Monday in June so we expected some Summer atmosphere at the pool. There was no bartender and ordering drinks to the pool involved scanning a menu and calling it in like room service. Armando then brought it out and was nice enough. Due to that, they were up charging and taxing each drink. So a $16 margarita was $26 due to room service fees etc. There was only one other couple there and we found the pool to be very boring. It's small and a few more people overwhelms the space. After our stay, I reached out because, besides the two drinks we each ordered, there were unrecognized charges to our room in excess. The hotel took care of them and even removed the uncharged room service delivered drinks which was nice. I got a survey and sent some feedback about some loose tiles and the drink/pool experience and I got a nice offer from an Assistant Manager explaining the pool area and offering us to come back. I took him up two weeks later this time on a Saturday and it was much more lively and busy at the pool. Kids, families, couples all mixed together jockeying for seats. This time they had a bartender who did an awesome job with the extreme demand of everyone but no other service but that. A few guys in suits (managers) came out to watch him work but that was it. The room again was immaculate and enjoyed as well as that manager sending a nice cheese plate and prosecco. Upon checking out the next morning I once again had erroneous charges to the room. (I think they charged me for the provided cheese plate etc). Once again I contacted and they removed them. Once again I took a survey and said this hotel needs to get its accounting right as soon as possible. They had fixed some prior survey issues around the pool which is great so hopefully they respond to the double instance of phantom charges again and get it fixed for all guests.
