This is a very beautiful resort with lots of restaurants and activities. The check in is seamless, overall, though Im never a fan of self check in taking the place of a human for a job. For us, we chose to use the wrist bands, which was great. It's your room key, credit card, and activity card all in one- so make sure you don't lose it. The indoor waterpark is quite impressive! Lots of slides and pool areas for all ages with plenty of lifeguards. Cabanas seem unnecessary in an indoor water park, especially for the cost. The outdoor waterpark is seasonal, which I find odd. This is Texas, it's typically hot. I could understand if it needed to be a certain temperature. I received a discounted rate, which is absolutely the way to go. We booked a 2 bedroom 2 bath during the week for around $475 a night. (See video below). Here's my biggest concern that has me wondering if we should return- cleanliness. I never saw anyone cleaning machines, laser tag vests, putt putt golf clubs, or the resort in general. Our room was supposed to be serviced. She only did half of the job. They made the bed and put some fresh towels. We still had to call for more because not enough was replaced and there were zero wash cloths. If a place isn't clean, it becomes a pool of grossness- especially with children.

We have so much fun at this hotel, this trip was exciting for my son. This year, my daughters are older, but still love the big slides. They ride all day. This year was my son's first trip and he couldn't stop running everywhere. The rooms are very nice and we had an amazing stay!! Will return!

Came for a SiteOne university where I was giving a lecture and manning a booth. This is a pretty nice location! I wasn't here for the normal activities so I didn't get to try out the water park or the games but I did eat at several of their restaurants and I stayed in their room... all of it was exceptional. The location its self was spotless and maintained to an excellence of the highest order. They have several eateries, a confections/bakery, a coffee shop, multiple shops, a large convention area, a water park and a kids gaming section. Honestly it is a great location! My room was perfect! The convention space as well as my independent room were perfect and even the audio visual team they provide got me up and going in no time. I truly could not have asked for more.

Went to Kalahari Resort for a conference. Overall it was a really great place for a meeting. The rooms are very comfy. Check in was a breeze. Plenty of free parking. The wristband is used to access the rooms, the water park and can be used to make charges. The conference center is very large. The dinner and lunches were great. Breakfast at the buffet was great, but the breakfast in the conference center was lackluster. The smoothies and fresh fruit juices in the buffet were a great way to start the day. There was a conference social in the open Amatuli marketplace under the stars with fire pits and live music. Open bar and three separate lines filled with a taco bar, Mac and cheese, salads, grilled veggies, roasted Brussels sprouts and more. They even had the cutest burros that offered capris suns or cervezas. Thanks for the creative mocktails using Topo Chico or ginger beer. Amazing! Red's Piano Bar was so much fun. The hibiscus mocktail was so delicious and a bargain at $4. Place your request for a song in the glass bowl near the piano. Sweet Caroline to Bohemian Rhapsody to Lose Yourself. First time that I've ever heard/sung a rap song at a piano bar. The waterpark is pretty insane. Voted the #1 indoor water park by USA Today, it is easy to see why it has that honor. Water slides. A lazy river. Wave pool. Flow rider. Hot tubs. And an adult only indoor outdoor cave. So nice to be in a huge hot tub under the stars after a long day of learning and networking. And the theming. So cute! Elephants, giraffes and hippos. Oh, my. Lots of cute photo ops with all of the life sized animal statues. Outdoor movies with s'mores. A bowling alley. An arcade on steroids with a human claw machine. Can't wait to go back next year for another conference at Kalahari Resort.

So So. No itinerary, it's a big place, no "Movie night is here." Nothing! You have to navigate for yourself and learn what is going on by yourself. 20" pizza plus the server's self added gratuity $70 . Thing is I ordered a 14" , but it got there and my little boy saw it, well I had no choice. We aren't wealthy but sacrificed to have a nice father's day weekend. Not sure if we'll be going back

Super expensive if you pay full price. Luckily we did a homeschool deal for a weekday. I couldn't imagine spending the full amount. It's outrageous. The place it self was cool. That doesn't justify the prices of everything. Water park had lots to do. Two outdoor hot tubs. Lots of slides for kids ( and adults ). Lazy River. Shopping areas. Arcade. Food super expensive. Drinks super expensive at all the bars. Was a cool place but lord have mercy bring your pocket books . Oh yea make sure and try and get a cart to drop your stuff at the door cause the parking lot is so far away

We wanted to love Kalahari because we try to take our kids on a staycation or local trip about once a month. They absolutely love Great Wolf Lodge, so we decided to try Kalahari for something different. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We arrived just before check in. We walked in around 3:55 PM and reached the desk at about 4:03 PM. We had reserved two rooms under one reservation and had previously called to confirm they would be near each other. At the desk we were told our rooms were not ready. When I asked for clarification, the employee said that check in starts at 4 PM but that does not mean rooms will actually be ready at 4 PM. That explanation did not make sense, especially after we had already unloaded all of our luggage with kids waiting to swim. After asking for a supervisor, she eventually found one room but said the second was not available. The two rooms were also halfway down the hall from each other despite our request to be close together when booking. We were told we would receive a text when the second room was ready and that our wristbands would automatically work once it was assigned. We waited an hour and never received the text. We finally went swimming and later called the front desk and were given a room number, but the wristbands did not work. After swimming and eating we had to go back to the front desk around 10:30 PM where they told us the text should have been sent but was not and everything had to be reprogrammed. While swimming both of my children's eyes began burning badly from the pool chemicals. This has never happened to them at any pool before, including our own backyard pool. They were walking around the hotel holding wet rags over their eyes and we had to rinse them out repeatedly. Because of this they refused to swim the following day or the day after, which defeated the entire purpose of the trip. There were also several safety and service concerns. My mother lost her prescription glasses at the pool and asked an employee how to check lost and found. The employee said security handles that but could not contact security and told her she would just have to tell another employee if there was an emergency. As a retired federal law enforcement agent, my mother found this response very concerning. Additionally, there was an area of the lazy river that was not visible to lifeguards. When I pointed it out, the lifeguard said she knew but that it was set up that way by her supervisor. That also made us uncomfortable since visibility is such a basic safety expectation. We also purchased the unlimited souvenir animal cups for both of our boys, but one straw had a crack and would not work. When we asked for a replacement we were told they were not allowed to replace it, which made the cup essentially useless. Since the kids did not want to swim anymore, we tried the arcade the next day. We asked about packages for rides and games and purchased what was recommended. After my kids won about 7,000 tickets on a game, we were told the package we bought did not allow tickets to be redeemed. When we went back to the desk the employee casually said that was correct, so we had to purchase another card. By that point the kids were already frustrated and disappointed. We paid for two nights but ended up only staying one because the experience had been so negative. Overall, the customer service, safety awareness, and overall organization did not meet the expectations for a family resort at this price point. We truly wanted to enjoy Kalahari, but our experience was very different from what we have experienced at Great Wolf Lodge. I hope management takes these concerns seriously because families come here expecting a safe and enjoyable experience for their kids.

We went Oct 11-12 The room was ready early and very clean The Amenities are very nice with a Vegas Style interior that offers everything from Escape Rooms to Fine Food The water park was Amazing and the Jumbotron is great for football We upgraded to the Lounge which I HIGHLY recommend for the coffee sodas and snacks We WILL be returning soon

This place is for rich people. It is super expensive but worth it if you can pay the price. The slides are really fun everywhere is available once you get the wristband the slides are scary! And the employees are nice to talk to especially Marcus rashford and Alyssa

Kalahari's events are top notch. If you ever have an opportunity to check one out I highly recommended it. They put a lot in effort in their presentation and they seem to have a high standard for quality.

This is a very overpriced waterpark which they over pack and under clean. It's so dirty inside, so expensive and they have the most ridiculous rules. My friends daughter is 55.5 inches tall and 7 years old and refused entry on the kids slides because she's too tall, as a neurodivergent kid who paid for a 2 night stay it's absolutely ridiculous. Th restaurant food is as expensive as a high class restaurant and is ok at best and there are zero people to clean the tables

Human claw machine. Guaranteed to get a prize.

We were here during Christmas break and eventhough it was a weekday, it was packed! We tried to arrive earlier so the morning was better. Quick checkin to get wristbands. We reserved one of the seating areas ahead of time which might not be necessary if you get there early enough to dump your stuff on one of the many free seating areas. Having your own waitress is pretty nice tho instead of standing in line for food and drinks. The kids really liked the outdoor hot tub eventhough towards the end when it was packed. Lots of employees at the kid areas to keep an eye out. The outside arcade area is also nice if you want a break from swimming but it's expensive. There's a zipline and small amusement rides and a human claw machine. We ended up staying for dinner and bowling. Lots of fried food. Just be ready to spend lots of money.

My daughter just turned 1. I saw on the map that mostly everything is for kids 48” and taller. Would it be a waste of money to take a baby? Or is there enough for a walking baby to do?

Everybody needs a pass except those 2 years or under.

Can you go and visit the shops, restaurants and walk around without booking a room?

I am sure you can! It's pretty amazing and fun. Like everything great it is an investment.

It was overpacked and horrible. We arrived on a Thursday and had the entire resort basically to ourselves. Friday evening was a different story. Saturday was even worse because ppl can purchase tickets for just the water park.

Is the sleeper sofa comfy for adults?

No. It's only comfortable when you're exhausted or had just the right amount of adult beverages.

When you book a room does it include tickets to the water park or Tom Foolery?

According to their website, yes! According to reality there is a price for everything and Kalahari will bait, switch and nickel and dime you to death! Stay away from this money pit.

Yes. Although I've heard it could be warmer. Felt lukewarm to them. They said the waterpark area is kept warm too though like a sauna.

Breakfast and lunch are buffet style and there's also a menu you can order from. For dinner it's à la carte from the menu. - Big selection for breakfast! They even have matcha cashew butter! - I got NY steak on one of the nights and it was the best steak I ever had - so tender and juicy and cooked to perfection! - I love love love the smoothie bar! For ladies (and gents) out there, you can add collagen to your drinks! Hotel / resort: - Not the most luxurious room BUT the bedding is soooooo comfy that you feel like you can sleeping on the cloud (they also sell their bedding at Solara Pass, the store within the resort) - I really love the rooms are so close to nature and you might see an animal or two (I saw a bunny)! Activities: - I did mostly outdoorsy activities (rhythmic riding, kayaking, being a beekeeper, paddleboarding, quantum leap, summit challenge course). - Highly recommend the being a beekeeper activity! I learned so much about bees, hives, what being a beekeeper entails. You'll also get to hold a hive or two! - I also recommend some of the stretching classes (shoulders set free, happy hips) especially if you are usually pretty sedentary. - I love the farm visit and the mastering microgreens class! You'll see donkeys, chickens, goats, and horses at the farm! - I also love the stories from the people activity at Solidago - indigenous storytelling combined with musical instruments. Services: - Really love the shuttle between the hotel and airport - Feel free to utilize the laundry services included with your stay (recommend that you let reception know so housekeeping can take your laundry bag from your room) - Everyone is super friendly, from staff at the restaurant to instructors for the activities Tips: - Weekdays are generally less busier than the weekends - July and August are usually slower months and perhaps you can find better deals - If you are not fully committed to staying here overnight, get a day pass! Definitely check the activities calendar online before you come! - For some of the popular activities with very limited space (for example, rhythmic riding), definitely book ahead of time. You can cancel any activities four hour prior to start. - It's a no tip resort so you don't have to worry about that!

An unforgettable experience, but definitely room for improvement given the price tag…read more Miraval austin is one of those aspirational properties that everyone looks forward to. As one of Hyatts flagship properties you would only expect the best there. Wish I could say I got the best, but it was mostly good. The problem is with the activity bookings. Every individual person has to book their own activities and there's no description vs. The detailed calendar on Miraval. Also, the site defaults to the first day after every activity booking. And lastly, most of the activities are taken that a person would be interested in. I got a few calls from an experience coordinator to help but they're always during working hours where someone is... most likely working and they aren't available after hours. For a property north of 1.5k a night, not being able to accommodate guest requests for a core concept is not acceptable. Other than that, everything was mostly fine. The property itself is not far from Austin but definitely feels isolated. Check-in process was mostly seamless, no upgrade given Globalist which is a bummer or even mention of looking for one. Check in later in the day around 6PM and there's no tea at Check in (gone for the day!?). However, the quick property tour and lift to dinner was nice. Food was definitely close to 4 to 5 stars. Order as much as you want. The bread was amazing. View even more so if you sit outside. A lot of things are grown from their local farm, definitely have a balance of vegetables and proteins. Everything was delicious and fresh, had amazing wild boar chops the first night and got a full 2nd order. Also got a great whitefish. Menu changes every night up to 4 nights, so the pork belly, duck confit, and shrimp and grits were highlights. Breakfast had amazing yogurt and fruits. Lunch was meh, burger was lacking, but the steak tacos were great. The room itself is not full luxury but very comfortable. Water filter, the largest selection of tea and cold coffee, water heater. Perfect to sit while being on the balcony. The bathroom is also decent size with great water pressure. Bath products fairly luxurious. The activities were decent, good instructors and energy. Most of them are intimate enough. Wish they were a bit more active to burn off the calories from the food.

First of all, the view of Lake Travis from the villa is amazing! My wife and I stayed in the "Milan" room, 800sq ft of comfort and luxury, for our anniversary. From the huge living room with a view of Lake Travis, to the big comfy bed, to the jacuzzi-style tub in the bathroom, we felt like we were staying at a 5-star hotel. The staff and manager were incredibly friendly and helpful and laid back! I could only find a few issues with the villa. There were hairs in our tub, so I cleaned it myself prior to my wife and I using it (which I didn't mind doing, as I am not snobby or beneath a little cleaning). Also, the bathroom window has no blinds or curtain, so when other guests decide to venture down to our patio, we have to be lucky not to be showering or standing nude at the time that they do. However, these couple little things are not enough to make me lower my rating of the place! Overall, the villa is amazing! A nice place to have that luxury feeling while being the perfect place to relax! I HIGHLY recommend this place for romantic getaways or for relaxation getaways. My wife and I would love to go again sometime for another mini romantic getaway from the kids.

Tells us there is a major water leak, causing alot of damage and he has to cancel the reservation because they can't stop the leak. He told us it happened the night before. Then, I come home and see where another customer left a review on Hotels.com ON THE VERY DATES WE WERE TO BE THERE! He rented it out to SOMEONE ELSE!!!! Shady!!! I read previous reviews that they did this! We had to find a hotel to stay in with less than an hour before check-in! We wanted to spend our 10 YEAR anniversary on the lake. Otherwise there are much better hotels in downtown Houston. Don't waste your time, just go ahead and book somewhere else!

The property reminds me of something that you would see in a movie somewhere in the southwest where people are just trying to hide out and not be found. It has such a cute rustic feel, with a lot of Texas flair. From the minute you arrive, you are given great service, greeted with amazing sense of essential oil, oils and leather with their signature fragrance in the form of a candle or room spray. For just $30 we were able to check in early at 1 o'clock instead of three which was great since I drove in town and had a lunch reservation, this gave us time to get unpacked and rest for a minute before heading over to the restaurant. They have lots of options in the mini bar, whether you are wanting an adult drink or just something cold and fizzy. When we arrived, they did give us a complementary bottle of water as well as a cold beer that I sat out on our little porch and enjoyed as the rain started to come down. I love all of the detail put into these rooms, it is such an amazing property, but I'll be honest there were way more kids than I expected, but it was Easter weekend so I guess a lot of families were traveling. I really wanted to get into the pool, but it was massively crowded. They have an outdoor bar as well as a café on the property that has live music and an enormous fireplace and plenty of big screen TVs to watch sports. Every evening they light up the fire pits and if you want to make s'mores, you can purchase a s'mores kit for just $10. They do not allow smoking in the rooms but allow you to smoke on the little patio outside your door. This has definitely become one of my favorite places to stay in Austin, which is difficult because there are so many amazing places in Austin, but Lone Star has definitely stepped into my top five. The young man that checked us in was great and he comped our valet parking! Truly phenomenal service. I'm looking forward to coming back!

This boutique hotel delivers a resort-inspired experience with an upscale twist and is known for its vintage charm with modern amenities. I arrived on Friday night and check-in was efficient, I had to provide my credit card for incidentals. I was given a choice of beer or bottled water upon check-in. The host directed me to my room location. There were several parking lots on the property and I was able to park close to the building with my room which was convenient. The provided a parking permit for complementary parking. The rooms offer a seamless blend of modern comfort and relaxed luxury and well-designed with a very open floor plan with a farmhouse door separating the restroom from the bedroom area. I was on the third floor. Each room had rocking chairs out front for a relaxing vibe. I especially appreciated how easy it was to step right outside and be in a communal space. it made connecting with others throughout the weekend effortless. One of the highlights was the courtyard area. Whether it was live music, lounging by the pool, or just gathering around in the evenings, the atmosphere felt lively without being overwhelming. It struck a nice balance between fun and laid-back. They had many communal areas set up with fire pits and a nice outdoor communal bar area where we held our silent disco. They also had a great event space where they hosted our group. The Water Trough bar and restaurant provided a breakfast and dinner dining experience. They also had an indoor bar area with live music for entertainment. Only issue was they did run out of food at dinner. The location in the Domain is also a positive. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops within walking distance, so there was always something to do between retreat activities. If I had to point out a downside, it would be that the social atmosphere can get a bit noisy at times, especially if you're looking for a quiet stay. But for a group event or weekend getaway, it actually adds to the charm. We contributed to the noise with our outdoor kareoke set-up. Overall, Lone Star Court is a great choice if you're looking for something comfortable, stylish, and built for connection. Perfect for group retreats or anyone wanting a more lively, communal hotel experience.

The hotel advertises itself as dog-friendly on their website, yet he refused to allow my dog even after I clearly explained and showed documentation that it is a service dog. To make matters worse, he said he could not cancel my reservation for two rooms, leaving my family and me with no solution. I had to find another hotel at the last minute with my family and my 3-month-old baby, which was extremely stressful. Sam took no responsibility for the situation and simply handed me the business card of someone named Hank Patel, supposedly the General Manager, who does not even answer calls. Very disappointing and unacceptable service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone
