Living In HB for many years we always patronized this business back in the day and when Rag Time was still in business and at there best game as well; these businesses over the years got faded out with the times I blame it on the diversity shift that's going on in the area supply n demand that's my honest opinion because we see more and more of these Mom and Pop businesses either fading out and or finding it very hard to survive; Facts; rent, Food Cost; labor cost & insurance all have what to do with their survival... Times Have Changed however I'm glad that i stoped in this morning to patronize This business again; honestly speaking I would've stopped at my go to Brothers's ravioli but there was no parking and I didn't wanna double park and risk a ticket so I kept driving and then I remembered this place I knew that it was getting remodeled so I stopped in to have a look see... 1st; Parking NOT a Problem !! Happy !!! 2nd; Beautiful curb appeal, when I walked in the two ladies upfront greeted me and said good morning with a smile..... 3rd; Very Very Clean, The deli & butcher displays of all their meats & salads look very inviting it brought back good memories of when the original store was at its finest !! Well, congratulations to this new owner I understand that he worked for the old owner for years if I'm wrong I apologize Store looks amazing everything is well organized they have all the italian goodies as well as standard groceries.... Now let's get down to business I went in there to get a roast beef hero; I placed my order I watched the gentleman start to make my hero I'm watching because that's what I do ( I liked what I saw ) and then I told him to make me another one the same exact way take a look at the size of theses heors & amount of meat that's in it that & it's Boar-Head roast beef & monster cheese at $12 Bucks a hero !!! Super Fresh & Super Delicious; I will definitely be back to support this store again just based on my Hero's . Then I was gonna go to Bj's wholesale club to go buy London broil's they have a two pack for being that I was here at the meat market I checked out their London - Broil lookedlook fantastic Priced @ $7.99 a pound So I bought Two of them; they are currently marinating in the refrigerator in a very nice low sodium soy garlic ginger marinade which I will barbecue them later tonight !!! Can ya tell I was craving Red Meat Today !!! Lol I will update you on them later but rest assure I will definitely patronize the store again like I said I normally buy from this store they are Italian sausage; their chicken rings and parsley rings along with all their homemade chicken burgers which will always out of this world and they looked just as good as they did years ago..... Please keep in mind my five star review solely based on my fantastic and delicious heroes And they're beautiful London broils along with everything else that I described up above I will update this review going forward glad I stopped in again !!! Also an FYI; somebody posted that their prices are very expensive ?!?! I walked around the store for a good 20 minutes I checked a lot of prices on everything I found the store would be just as reasonable as any other store so don't believe everything you read !!! My complaint has to do with a worker (Heavy set {please, no fat shaming here, just describing the person}, light skin, Jamaican woman) monitoring the checkout area in the front of the store. My mom and I have been shopping at this store for years. We came from out of state (long journey) to purchase meat and supplies for the holidays. I spent over $200 dollars on 12/21/2025. The timestamp on my payment receipt is 2:03 PM. Once I paid and my bags were packed the cashier told us that we can get a free bag of rice or a bottle of oil. I took the bags and headed out of the store. I sent my mom to get the free item. She was taking a while to come back out so I went back stood by entrance, near the cash register section looking for her. At that time the light skin Jamaican woman approached me to search my bag. I asked why. She said that she wants to see if the cashier missed checking any items. Why should that be the customer's problem and why didn't she check when I was leaving the store? I questioned the process saying that a customer should not be inconvenienced to verify if the cashier is doing her job. She took my receipt, just peered into the FOUR huge completely filled shopping bags we brought and handed the receipt back to me. While she is doing this, all the customers and people passing in front of the store were staring as though I stole merchandise. Her response to me questioning the process was to state that all customers are checked before exiting. That is false because I was not checked upon exiting the store and I also did not see other customers checked when leaving with their purchased items. This was very embarrassing and seemed targeted. I would have preferred speaking to the owner; however, they are not reachable by phone. The cameras in the store could corroborate my version of the incident. This was an embarrassing and harassing interaction. Needless to say that my mom and I will continue to visit Queens, NY to shop, however, we will shop from other stores for items needed. WE WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THAT STORE AGAIN!!
