    Korean Chicken Plate

I've always wanted to try this food truck food every time I seen them at swap meet. But this time I got to try them at a kapolei event. I gotta say they packed my plate well. Despite the price, I think it's reasonable. The wait wasn't that bad either even though they did have a medium sized line. The orders went by quick. Not a great picture; I know but this is what I have to work with. I gotta say this is another great place that makes good Korean Chicken. I think even better than zippys for me. The skin had a great crunch while the meat on the inside had this really tender flavorful taste. I will definitely be coming back for more.

Yum! Grabbed a quick bite from their food truck during Black Friday at Pearlridge mall. The entire menu sounded pretty good, but I settled on the bulgogi bao buns. 3 for $12. Delicious!! It was the perfect amount of food. The kimchee on top was perfect. It wasn't spicy at all so great for anyone to try! I can't wait to try their other offerings, check them out!!

    Chef Bobby

I hired Bobby as a private chef for my 40th birthday celebration with friends and family. My expectations were met and exceeded big time. Bobby is such a kind and genuine person and from our first phone call I knew Bobby was the right chef. Great communication, he came up with an amazing menu that blew everyone away. I wanted a causal, fine dining experience and he delivered with a 5 course tapas style menu. He provided bento boxes for the kids the private chef night, fruit platter for breakfast the next morning and later in the week a buffet family style dinner. Made it so I could host meals but also enjoy my time. Best decision ever.

Came across this food truck at the Aloha Stadium Swap meet. Asked was the cashiers favorite thing on the menu and he said the Korean fried chicken. Indeed, it was definitely Yummy Korean fried chicken! Think orange chicken, but better. And whole pieces of chicken skin deep fried with a tangy sweet bite! I would have given it a 5 star but I was burping the sauce all afternoon and that was kind of gross. Somewhat of a after taste going on. Still good though!

We found a Kalamas Kuisine at the flea market in the Aloha Stadium and we ordered the Cajun garlic butter shrimp plate with rice and Mac salad along with the Cajun tots. The shrimp were SO good and so were the Cajun tots! They served the shrimp with two kinds of rice, plain white and one that was cooked with the shrimp which had a good flavor but it was too buttery for my liking. Our kids really enjoyed the Mac salad and rice!

Had my first Loco Moco at the market was everything my dreams said it would be . If you haven't had the food you should am gonna be back before I leave the Island so I can try some of the other delicious things on the menu. Veteran owned

    Kimchi mac & cheese

We found a pop up food truck event in the Pearl City Walmart parking lot, and this was hands down the food truck we wanted to try. Kimchi mac&cheese and smoked meat fried noodles were both good. Would definitely try again!

It's part seafood market, part, part plate lunch spot, and they have SO many things besides poke. There are musubi, bentos, fried chicken, fish patties, shrimp, sushi, noodles, and all kinds of other local goodies. The line can look intimidating, but it moves pretty quickly. The poke is obviously one of the big reasons people come here, and there are a ton of varieties to choose from. The spicy ahi and crunchy garlic ahi are especially popular, and the mochiko chicken gets a lot of love too. We did like the mochiko chicken a lot! This is definitely a grab it and go kind of place rather than somewhere to sit and eat. I can see why locals make this a regular stop because you could come here several times and still have plenty of things to try. My favorite turned out to be the poi mochi!

Two weeks ago, I saw a group on FB called 808 Best Lunch Wagons, Restaurants & Entertainments that…read moresomeone had posted the menu for Ige's and saw that Wednesday they would have baked spaghetti, my favorite going to school. Wednesday, had the internet fixed in the morning, picked up my cousin at 10:30 and she gave me directions to Ige's because all this time, I didn't know they were still in business. Oops. Ige's is located in the Waimalu area behind Goodwill on Kam Hwy. There's several small businesses back there and all these driveways, you can miss this place easily. On the main driveway, there's a bike path that crosses it, and an old guard shack. After this, you want to take the second driveway on the left. You know you're going down the right path when you see Guieb restaurant on the left, which I also didn't know was here. And drive all the way to the end. Ige's is the very last store on the left. You'll see the lunch line. They are only open for lunch from Tuesdays to Fridays from 9:30 am - 1 pm, so you should plan ahead. The regular menu differs each day and for now, the daily specials have remained unchanged. But to make sure, check out their IG @igesaiea. When you get there, they do have some grab and goes that are not advertised. As far as pricing, they are pretty reasonable, regular plates are between $13 - $16. However, the portions, let's say it's really heavy. My cousin got a mixed plate of chicken hekka and pork teriyaki. And I got the baked spaghetti, no rice, with toss and Mac salad. And the spaghetti filled half the plate with a good amount of height. Ige's is counter only, a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Therefore there are no seats. I asked my cousin if she wanted to grab a table at Neal Blaisdell park down the street and she quickly declined. So we drove back to her house for lunch. My cousin did enjoy her chicken hekka and pork. I'm didn't get to taste it because I was too involved with my meal. At first glance, it wasn't the brick, lasagna-style like school where there was a thick layer of cheese on top. However, without the cheese, it was still tasted the same from what I could remember. Because the portion is heavy, my cousin could only eat a fourth of her lunch while I thought I better tap out at 1/3. So she didn't need to make dinner for her family while I had dinner and lunch for the next day. Although the interaction was short, the counter person was pleasant and very helpful. As you look into the kitchen, you can see a lot of people hustling back there as they also do catering. I'll be away for two weeks but I am looking forward to picking up lunch when I get back and I am definitely brining family here, I just need to figure out a good place for a picnic.
