    Empanadillas in all their goodness!
    Ed S.

If you're craving for an empanada and love Pastele you gotta try Grandma's Pasteles! I have only eaten their empanadilla's so my review is specifically for that. I was craving for an empanada and having eaten their empanadillas in the past and knowing they would be at "What The Truck" at Waikele, I texted them an order. Upon my arrival at the venue, I was instructed to go straight to the pick up. No waiting, paid for my order and was on my way. That to say, if you don't want to wait in line, text your order ahead of time. So back to the food review, one word.. "Ono." The empanada is filled with Pastele meat goodness! The meat to dough ratio is perfect, for me at least, and well worth the $5.00 price tag. I'll for sure be back and making a text order!

Gandule rice and pastele. Best I've ever had.

The pastele was crumbly and tasted funny. Avoid at all cost. They make the outside look good but what matters is on the inside.

The gandule rice was ok- better than Linaka's in Aiea Shopping Center.

A really good okazuya, poke shop and plate lunch place. There's always a line so other people must agree with me. Even though I am full blooded Japanese I didn't eat raw fish. But I got hooked on the sushi rice with take and poke. The poke was cut so small I decided to try it. And surprisingly I liked it. So I had it again today along with a cone sushi (it's so hard to find the old fashion cone sushi -not the small football ones that you find at Foodland and everywhere else. The cone ee is so juicy and the right amount of sweet. Love it. There are so many of my favorites that it's hard to try something new. Want to try the pork chops with the scallions (like the kind you find on cold ginger chicken). Maybe I'll get someone else to order it and I'll get a

Whether you're grabbing lunch for the beach, a family gathering, or just craving local comfort food, Tanioka's is always a solid choice.
