They were featured in Unique Eats so I decided to give it a try. I had the Kimchi fried rice, little smokies and scrambled eggs. It smelled great while I was driving home and couldn't wait to dig into it. 10 minutes later I finally get home and dive right into the plate. The kimchi fried rice was mushy and gummy nothing like fried rice. It was barely warm so I know it was prepped far in advance and held which may have made it more mushy. It would have been better off if they just dropped everything into the rice cooker, and cooked it the night before. Then when an order comes in stir fried it then. Oh and there was no kimchi in my fried rice. They used the base to season the rice which also makes the rice mushy. On to the scrambled eggs. They were rubbery and dry. Signs that they were cooked over high heat. The little smokies... well pretty hard to screw that up. Good side they served a lot of them. Over all for $8 I don't really consider this a deal not with the issues with the food anyway. Not a fan.

"Mandy" is Mandy Suganuma, the radio personality from KSSK radio station. She has a wonderful voice over the airwaves and has a charming, friendly demeanor in person! Mandy was invited to the Saint Stephen Church Bazaar in Nu'uanu on the Pali Highway on Saturday, June 27, 2026. It was a convenient place for my friends and I to park and shop! We bought a lot of goodies! My friend scooped up the last Triple Chocolate cake, so I did the 3 for $33 deal (each pan is $12, so I saved a dollar on each pan). I got the last Apple Crisp, a Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake, and a Glazed Cinnamon Roll Coffee Cake. OMG... Each one was rich, moist, and buttery! Yummy! I also got the Mochi Crunch Popcorn and the Dilly Ranch Pretzels because I enjoy crunchy, savory foods! Mmm! The 3 for $21 deal was too good to pass up... instead of paying $8 each. I got two packs of Lemon Bars and one pack of Lilikoi Bars. Nom nom nom! I shared these treats with my niece, sister, and brother-in-law. They really liked Mandy's Munchies, too. Went there promptly at 1200 opening time of the event, and sure glad I did. People started coming and lining up after me shortly afterwards. The cakes were $12 each, but really tasty! This smoked meat is fairly lean which concerned me at first but my concerns were not warranted. The meat has a strong great flavor but the spice level is pretty low. In a way I was happy with that because I didn't want to be have the spice overpower the flavor of good smoked meat. As long as you aren't looking for burn your mouth spicy this is excellent smoked meat at a reasonable price.

I went twice to the Kaka'ako Farmer's Market and they had sold out early - my second attempt, they were out by 8am! I even tried the Pearlridge Farmer's Market... they only had the strawberry mochi! At least I got the Strawberry mochi from the Kaka'ako Farmer's Market on my first visit and the Fresh pineapple mochi on my second visit. Both times, the kind lady told me to go to the Sunday morning Farmer's Market at Mililani High School. So, I did! I arrived at 7:30am, but Daizu-Tei was nowhere to be found! I began to panic as I circled around and looked at each vendor again. It was a relief when I saw the lady and her daughter setting up their booth at the far endbof the parking lot. Whew! I was first in line! She set out the menus and to my delight, they had Pear mochi AND Peach mochi! Both were offered with and without sweet white beans. I ordered one of each and took them home to cut up, photograph, and enjoy! Ahhh! Delicious!!! The search is over! Now I know where to get fresh fruit mochi - it's worth the drive to Mililani! This Farmer's Market is less crowded, has lots of free parking, and all options of mochi are available! Tip: An added plus is that the weather is cooler in Mililani because it is at a higher elevation and is further from the beach!
