And yes, in case you didn't know, while it's called "International", all those nations are in Asia. We come here mainly for two things - either getting ingredients to make hot pot at home, or just eating hot pot here. They also have dry pot, which my wife and I really like as an option. You grab a basket and fill it with whatever veggies you want, then a separate one and fill it with proteins, then you pay by the weight. You can either get it hot pot style in a big bowl of hot broth, or dry pot where they cook it in the broth but serve your food already cooked. As far as the grocery selection, they have a big seafood selection and a decent butcher area. Also a lot of Asia snacks and frozen selection, and a small liquor section too. Produce is fine. But if you're making hot pot at home, they have the sliced meat, soup base, sauces, and a little frozen fish ball self-serve area. If you don't want to eat hot pot here, they serve other Asian hot dishes, and there's a bubble tea spot and bakery here, but I haven't tried anything else besides the hot pot. Sense a trend yet? It's not as big as Joong Boo, and it's bigger than the current H Mart for now but will be interesting to see how the new one compares. Overall it's a fine grocery store and we'll come back when that craving for mala spice strikes.

Wow, what an experience! I heard fun things about the store and decided to come by. It was super…read morepacked with teenage kids playing the claw machines and the parking lot was packed but overall a fun experience. When you walk in you're greeted with rows of blind boxes of various kinds. I ended up getting a sunny angel to open, which was kinda fun. The best part of the snack aisles. Endless options of chips, candies and drinks to try. My only grief is the cost of everything. You can go to Daiso, or an Asian Market in the area to get some of the snacks for a fraction of the price. I will say that their home and beauty section is superior. I saw folks stocking up on skincare and I certainly need to spend more time there next time. The staff were super friendly and willing to help. They also checked in to make sure we didn't need anything during our shopping experience. Overall we had a great time and would venture back to find new interesting snacks to try.

Not only is there a food court of different Japanese restaurants to try, there is also a grocery store, bakery, bookstore, and stores that sell ice cream, traditional desserts, as well as crepes and boba tea! My family and I visit here often every year and we like to try the different foods and desserts and then check out the bookstore and grocery store afterwards. My favorite foods so far have been the beef udon soup with a soft boiled egg, shrimp and vegetable tempura, miso soup, and Japanese curry with rice, beef, and vegetables (carrots and potatoes). My son always gets the chicken and beef on a stick and my daughter usually gets a garlic pork dish with white rice but I forget what this dish is called. My husband also enjoys the beef udon soup like I do. I swear that whenever my food is finished, I am legit sad! The crepes are good, there is a variety of boba teas to try, and the ice creams are delicious! Lychee has been my favorite so far but I have yet to try the matcha, red bean, among others! You can get a small sample of different ice cream flavors too, which is nice! I sampled the red bean flavor so that will be my go-to next time! At the grocery store, I love buying Happy Turn snacks which are like a sweet and salty crunchy cracker (maybe it is made of rice?) that are individually wrapped and mochi from the fridge area. Finally, I usually like to buy mochi from the store right next to the bookstore. The mochi from this location is the best! I usually buy multiple flavors to take home and eat at a later time! You must try these! My kids love checking out the bookstore and they usually pick something out for me to buy for them - whether it is a book, keychain, etc. There are magazines, anime figurines, soft plushy toys, pens, and stationary, etc. It is interesting to browse through the things they have there! You cannot bring food or drinks inside but they do have a shelf at the entrance where you can place your drink there if you like. The first time visiting here, the majority of the customers were Asians and as the years have passed, there is now more of an influx of non-Asians who simply love the food and appreciate the culture, which I think is neat! The first time I visited here was with my college roommate who was from Japan and she recommended this place back in 2009 perhaps? I have been visiting ever since with my family. We travel more than an hour from Wisconsin to come here but it is 100% worth the drive! Also, the cashiers and workers there are quick, efficient, and friendly. I have even been able to practice a few of the Japanese phrases I have learned with a couple of the cashiers too (I asked if they spoke Japanese first)! Overall, Mitsuwa is my happy place! Great food, interesting finds, different culture, and everyone there looks excited to be there. This is as close to visiting Japan as I can get until I keep learning more Japanese and save up enough money to go visit Japan someday! This is my dream! I want to give a shout out to Andrea and Chris (I wish I had last names!)…read more You know what it's like when life gets so stressful that you are struggling to find a reason to make it through the day, and then you discover a sweet treat in the international candy aisle of your local Tony's that is like nothing else you've ever eaten, and it becomes your nightly reward for making it through another day? No? Just me? Well, then humor me. I found that treat (and I'm not identifying it because I don't want my store to run out!!) and I stopped in my Tony's Monday morning to get my week's worth, and despite the fact that I hadn't seen the supply dwindle at all in the months I've been eating these treats (so I just assumed I was the only one who bought them,) AND they had literally boxes full of product every time I came to Tony's, my heart SUNK when I saw the empty shelf. Sometimes when life rains, it pours, and life has been pouring on me, and seeing that one of the few things I had to look forward to was gone, broke the camel's back. I headed toward customer service, and saw a woman standing in front of customer service (she may have been supervising the self checkout) and I approached her on the verge of tears and explained that they were out of the only thing that brought me joy, and she said "well then, we will find it." That was Angela. Thank you, Angela!!! Truly, an angel! I was expecting judgment, not kindness. I was hoping they had just moved the candy to a different display or something but Angela looked into it and they were completely out (and when I'd been in less than a week earlier, there was still a LOT of product that was about a year away from expiration, so I guess I'm NOT the only one who finds this item irresistible!) So Angela recruited a very kind gentleman named Chris who got my information, placed an order with the vendor, and barely 24 hours later I got a text from Chris that the product was at the store waiting for me. My experience with "customer service" on a whole lately has been that no one seems to care anymore. Or that people do the absolute minimum that they can get away with. I cannot remember the last time I had a company truly care if I was happy with my shopping experience. Angela could have just told me to "go look for the product at other Tony's stores" or online ... but instead she made sure the item would be available at my preferred store. Chris could have just told me "they'll be in some time next week, come in and look" .... but instead, he texted me to let me know when they arrived, and because I couldn't make it into the store that day, he made sure to set side the quantity I need. Again, these are all such small things in the grand scheme of life, but Joy and kindness are so important and so hard to come by these days. Because of the kindness of Andrea and Chris, I'm able to find little bits of joy at the end of the day, as I work my way through this difficult chapter in my life.

They were able to create them. I would never usually ask for special treatment or a short order, and when I did, they delivered. One can see the market on the first floor from the cafe floor. The cafe had several vendors and many tables. I was happy to go straight to the vendor which had exactly what I wanted: the Pork Wang Dumpling. It tasted so delicious! Outside was tasty and inside pork was flavorful - just what I ordered. Cashier was friendly and helpful. Lots of customers enjoying their lunch where there are plentiful tables. I took my order to go and enjoyed it very much. Cheers!~

This store is also cheaper than H-Mart for a lot of stuff as well if you're familiar with that grocery store. I've had hit or miss experiences with the…read moreproduce freshness, so I would be careful just to see what's in season (or what is imported, etc.) For example, these tangerines looked awesome, but when I had one at home, it was surprisingly dry and not at all juicy with a ton of seeds. Upon further inspection, it was produced in Australia (the long journey probably resulted in less freshness). However, I've had great luck with the Asian pears and most of the vegetables we bought here. I think it just depends on what you're looking for! Once you head out of the produce section, there's a great ready-made food area with everything from bento meals to breakfast favorites. This area is also where they have offered free tasters of dumplings and noodles in the past. Right past here are beverage aisles, frozen and refrigerated foods, then shelf stable items. Fresh fish and meats can be found along the very back of the restaurant. I'm particularly partial to the huge drink aisle where I've found everything from papaya milk to zero sugar sodas. Great selection of a ton of brands. You'll find similar impressive variety in their other aisles. Checkout is pretty simple afterwards with a traditional cashier, and as you leave, there is a great food court with a ton of different choices. The parking lot is a little hectic, but I would just make sure to take the back exits rather than the ones off the main road: it'll take forever if you want to turn left (since there are no traffic lights or signs for oncoming traffic).
