    Grilled Lamb

Another hidden gem in Sunset! I visited this restaurant for dinner with my wife last Friday since we were in the mood for a quick bite of food. I made the reservation with OpenTable and drove to the place from home. Kalimera is located on 71st St. There is plenty of parking near that you can choose from (make sure you have the PayByPhone app installed to make it even easier). We were greeted by Khaled who ushered us to our table, he gave his recommendations and brought us drinks. We decided to order the Kalimera Trio as the appetizer, we shared the grilled lamb, and the Kabab combo beef. The food was delicious and tasted very fresh, I am definitely returning with family and friends.

Complementary baklava dessert from the owner. It was delicious.

This is probably one of the best Lebanese places I've been to. To start off with the Kibe was extremely flavorful, and the meat was tasty. Followed with the Fatoush salad that was extremely fresh and was garnished with delicious spices. We then tried the hummus with lamb, outstanding. The meat was soft and extremely flavorful. We were then presented with complementary baklava for dessert from the owner. The Lebanese beers that I tried were very good. All in all the service was amazing and the food was outstanding. A definite repeat.

I don't know why it took me so long to try this place but I'm so glad I came! My friend told me it was amazing so I had to see for myself. The spanakopita was so delicious and lemony. The hummus wasn't bad just not my favorite but the labneh was . I had lamb kebab and my boyfriend had the traditional beef kebab. He's not a fan of lamb but he said my entree was better (so that says a lot about how good the lamb is). Only thing that didn't catch our attention was the dessert but everything else was fantastic.

Friday nights are typically a day of rest for me, but sometimes I give in to friendly get togethers that involve food & catching up with my groups of various goddesses. One of my friends suggested going to Kalimera Greek and Lebonese Testaurant. I've never been to a Lebanese/Greek restaurant, LET'S CHECK IT OUR!! (Heads up, the parking is a little complex). To begin, I wasn't impressed with the colorful, yet messy outdoor lights, but you will definitely know you've arrived. The exterior did not match the designed, open & peaceful interior, AND A HUGE PLUS, what a nice experience to be able to hold a conversation in a South Miami eatery on a Friday night! FYI, my pet peeve while dining is EXTREMELY loud music and having to scream through a conversation. At first, I was also disappointed with our waiter and the customer service. (Anyone that knows me, knows I'm picky AF AND I customize my orders) I felt our waiter was too assertive with his ways and did not allow me right to modify, but I called him back and he was more accommodating. And once the food arrived, it did not disappoint! My Tiropita and Shrimp skewers were delish! Even though the options for Greek eateries in South Florida are endless, and there are nicer places to check out(, when in the South Miami area, if you're looking for a peaceful environment where the food is good, swing by Kalimera. I am always looking for good Greek food. So when I saw this sign go up I was excited. I am still hoping they can turn it around. The food was pretty good. The standouts for me were the Fatoush Salad and the Kalimera Trio Dips. The salad was crispy and lemony and refreshing. All 3 of the dips were delicious. The falafel was pretty tasty too. On the not-so-great side was the Spanakopita. It was two small empanadas. There was no flaky phyllo dough and for the price, I expected more. On the bad side... that sad bowl of Mjaddarah. I couldn't place the taste but there was some spice in there that I have never had in this dish before. And to put it plainly, it was off-putting. That was a disappointment. I know it is a new place so I want to give them a chance to get everything in order. However, while we dined there was way too much commotion in the back of the house that auditorily spilled out into the restaurant. That should not happen. And considering they are part of LA Pizza next door they should know better. If you like Greek food give them a try.

We came in on a Sunday afternoon and didn't have to wait for a table. We ordered the hummus and spanakopita as appetizers. The hummus was tasty, and the spanakopita was more like a spinach empanada than the spanakopita a lot of people are used to. The main entrees were reasonable in terms of portion sizes, and the wine selection was pretty unique given that most of their bottles are from Greece/the Aegean region.

Excellent food, very tasty and authentic. Friendly service and the best Baklava ever! Definitely will be back.

Excellent food. The Palestinian IPA was very good. The restaurant was packed, which caused the service to be a little slow. We'll worth it.

After the explanation we chose a sandwich and bowl with falafel and gyro meat. After waiting for the falafels, which were made fresh, the worker handed them to us and explained how the topping station worked. We also noticed that we didn't have the gyro meat and before we could ask she explained that because all the toppings were vegetarian she wasn't going to put the gyro meat until after we finished with our tops to reduce contamination. We chose our toppings, she put the meat, and we sat down to eat. The falafels were crisp, packed with flavor, and weren't greasy. The gyro meat was also packed with flavor and was juicy throughout every bite. The fries were crisp and the seasoning was a bit overpowering for me, but was perfect for my lunch buddy. Overall, the falafel and gyro meat was very delicious and you can customize your sandwich/bowl however you'd like to find your perfect mix. If you're vegetarian you can trust that the workers care that nothing is cross contaminated. I'll definitely come back again.

Mediterranean (specifically Lebanese) food is perhaps my favorite on this planet, but this place severely disappointed. I want to start off with the good. Nice, friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere. And all the sides we had were great. Now, the bad. We got the beef shawarma, and it was ok. The shawarma itself was largely bland, and just tasted like cut up steak bites with no flavor. However, that's not the worst part. I had an absolutely nauseating experience with the arayes, which is one of my favorite dishes that I make at home from time to time too. It smelled like cigarettes, gasoline, and death. I don't know how else to describe it. I'm not sure what kind of meat it was, I assume lamb, and I've had experience with lamb that had gone bad in the fridge, and the texture was very reminiscent. I hope that's just a coincidence, and the smell was from another source. More so than the texture, again, the smell was enough to make us gag, and I have a strong stomach. I'd give lower, but I was treated fairly, and that would feel unfair. Thankfully, I'm not in this area that much, but I hope I just got unlucky and everyone else had and will continue to have good experiences here.

The chicken itself was flavorful and I ate the whole thing even though it was quite large. Therefore, from a taste and quality perspective I think the gyro was a saving grace for Art Gyros. We also ordered the hummus and it was tasty enough but...a part of me did wonder if it was homemade or if my tastebud memory was recognizing a sabra-esque taste. Nonetheless, it was served with far too few pita breads. Would recommend supplementing with some crudités, yum! The restaurant itself is so cute. It has prime real estate on Sunset Drive with a great outdoor seating area and a crisp and clean interior decor. Loved the wine wall! The bathroom needs a little work in the decor department. Also, when I used it, it looked like the staff left some supply cabinet open. Not a huge deal but again--so much potential! The service is why I gave Art Gyros 2 Stars. I went during lunch hours and therefore no one was there. Our order was taken by a gentleman and though he got us situated with our drinks and appetizers very quickly, he never came back to see if we wanted more Prosecco or needed anything at all. We observed that the chef in the kitchen was working hard to prepare dishes for the 5 of us and it seemed like she had no help. The gentleman spent the rest of the time we were there doing what appeared to be business stuff. We took it upon ourselves to remove all the extra plates from our table and put it on the bar area to make more space. At the end of it all when we got our check, it wasn't until after I already wrote in my 20% tip (which I always give regardless of service) that the we were informed it was already included. Would love to see this place do better as it does have so much potential.
