Our experiences with the Kalin staff have always been positive. We recently needed warranty service, and the customer support provided was, in my opinion, over and above. Melissa assisted with the claim details, and kept us updated every step of the way regarding technician appointments, parts delivery and repair schedule. I was impressed with her communication and coordination abilities. The technician, Dwight, was equally impressive. He diagnosed the problem quickly and worked with Melissa to order parts and schedule the repair with us. Dwight was knowledgeable and personable, and performed the repair quickly and completely. Love Kalin Home Furnishings. What a great experience. We purchased two Stressless living room sofas. The sofas were on sale, and they honor US military members. They delivered and set up the sofas on time. The leather quality on the Stressless is outstanding. One of our sofa had a slight blemish on the seat. Kalin's contacted Stressless and sent a repair tech to change out the leather seating for that piece. Kalin cares about their customers. Will be using the for future furniture purchases. They have the best furniture in the area. Very beautiful pieces everywhere in the store. Make sure you walk the entire store and take it all in. The high quality of the furniture equals prices that are a bit high but you get what you pay for and is worth the price. We bought $18,000 worth of furniture one chair doesn't recline in need of repair their response was "nothing we can do". Avoid Kalen's at all cost! Also don't purchase the insurance they make it impossible to make a claim. Never again! read more

Absolutely THE best furniture store that I have ever dealt with. Elena was so respectful and kind to us. Had an issue with one of our chairs, they came out the very next day and replaced it. The gentlemen that came out to assess problem with the rocker was very professional and took our concerns back and the owner himself made determinations on our issue. I visited Kalins in Ormond beach today looking for a new Lazy Boy recliner. I was met by sales person Germaine. I told her what features I wanted and she pointed out which ones were in stock and what to look for. She then left me to try out each one till I found the one I wanted. There was no hovering,pressure or following me around,how refreshing ! It has been my experience in other furniture stores where the sales person doesn't even give you room to breathe. If you are looking for furniture, I suggest you visit Kalins and deal with Germaine. You won't be disappointed. p.s. I did buy the new recliner from her ! read more

Terrible place to do business with. Spent over $10k on a Bassett couch and loveseat. Their technician has been out 3 times since we received the furniture, (less than 9 months). He pretends to not understand what is wrong with the loveseat. The seatbacks are too verticle and are uncomfortable. The couch is fine, no complaints. We are going to take them to court because they refuse to fix it and treat us like we are crazy. read more

Bought furniture two years ago, paid around $3000 for sofa and loveseat. Less than two years later it has completely fallen apart. They wanted to replace only two of the cushions meanwhile when those cushions came in the other cushions are falling apart. We'll never shop at this location again. I would not recommend anyone else to either. read more

I recently bought a chair, mattress, and electric stand for the mattress. As part of the mattress deal, a box of beddings, including sheets, pillow cases and pillows were included. When I bought the mattress, one of the questions I asked was how much it would cost to upgrade to a larger mattress. The answer was $700 but I was also told there was a six month comfort guarantee that went with the mattress in case I wanted to get something else. Furniture was delivered. The first problem was the sheets. They didn't fit. I tried every way, but they didn't fit. I called Kalin. Instead of offering to exchange the sheet, it was explained that because I received the whole box of mattress coverings, they couldn't just exchange the sheet. They offered, instead, to give me two pillows. If I needed pillows, I would have asked for pillows. The mattress is too small for me. I called to inquire about the comfort guarantee so that I could get a larger mattress. That was when I was informed that the comfort guarantee only covered the mattress, not the base, and that, if I wanted to get a larger mattress, that mattress would be $1300 The only reason this received two stars was because the sales person was very helpful. read more

I have been buying from Kalin for years and the sales and delivery service have always been top notch. From initial sales to final delivery they take good care of their customer. I highly recommend Darrin in sales. He's never failed to get me a good price. I've never commented about the delivery coordinator but I feel like I would be remiss if I didn't say something about Jeff. He is always knowledgeable, polite and one of the friendliest people. 10.0 Patrice special ordered a chair for my husband. She was wonderful in getting our order sooner than we expected. It had a tall base and wireless remote for headrest and lumbar support. I LOVE this place! I live in Jacksonville and every time I'm in town I stop by Kalin's. Some years ago I got a gorgeous barrel chair, swivel, rocker (not easy to find) and the sales person helped me pick the fabric and I found great matching pillows in the store. They have a talented interior designer that works part -time and designs the most gorgeous room ever. I've even taken pics and found the accessories, decor, bedspreads at other places cheaper. read more

Be careful about mask rules at this store. There is a very small sign that says masks are required and they will provide one. We went in there today, did not see the sign and were not wearing masks. We did observe social distancing. We were greeted by three different staff and had been in the store about 30 minutes when a man who identified himself only as "the general manager" brusquely informed. Is of their mask requirement and told us to leave (did not offer masks). We looked for the sign and found it on the way out, in very small print on what looks like a decorative plaque. We would have appreciated knowing in advance and having the opportunity to decide whether or not to enter when we first arrived. read more

We went to Kalin Home Furnishings in Orman this weekend to look for a living room set. When we entered the store, we were met by a lovely Russian woman named Elena. She brought my husband to a sofa and said you will love this one. He sat in it, said thank you, and walked away. he tried every sofa in the store and we left. We returned, she recognized us, and we said sold. She was not a high-pressure salesperson. She is good at what she does. Ask for Elena. She will set you right up. read more

What a find. This store had great and quality selections to choose from and Tracey the sales associate was so relaxed yet helpful at the same time. The Beach style master bedroom set, from a Bassett collection is very sturdy, solid wood and we are delighted with it. I was looking for a new Lazy Boy Recliner for my bedroom. I called Kalin Home Furnishings on May 19th and was transferred to Tim Dyer. We talked about some chairs they have and I advised him that I would stop by tomorrow. So on the 20th I walked into Kalin I asked for Tim Dyer. We proceeded over where the recliners were located. Unprofessionalism at its finest from the salesperson I dealt with. I decided to try Kalin for a second time since I had another bad experience prior to the last one with another salesperson. I selected a sofa in August 2020 and waited over a month for a sample of the fabric we chose to make sure it would work with the other pieces I ordered elsewhere. I never received a sample of the fabric nor a phone call from Andrea saying it would not be possible if that was the case. This time (Jan. 2021) we were approached by a woman named Patrice. I told her what I was looking for and she showed us the Lexington line of furniture which has a sofa that you can customize. We also selected two accent chairs and the fabric that I chose was questionable if it would be available for the chairs. She needed to check with the manufacturer. Meanwhile, we decided to go back to the store to place the order for the sofa and we had a backup plan for the chairs if we could not have the fabric I wanted. I called and she said she was not going to be there. When we arrived, there she was and I told her I can work with someone else since she had to go. Instead, she came over and said she could help us and wrote our order with the price of the sofa on it. I also selected two recliners if we couldn't do the chairs knowing that the wait time for a La-z-boy recliner is "6 months". Each time Patrice said she would call me, she never did and when I called her I was always told she was busy with customers. Did I not matter at all? If she didn't have an answer, all she had to do was call and say so. She was annoyed and actually told me several times that I should go shop elsewhere. Her behavior was not normal and I questioned it from the moment she approached us. I called the store manager and he was not much help except that he put the phone on speaker and had Patrice call me. Did he think she would say the unprofessional things she said when no one was listening to her, in front of him? Unfortunately, she made several mistakes and that was not something she could change b/c I had copies of my order. When I called her to place the order w/o waiting for the chairs, she changed the price of the sofa by about $1000 and never once said she made a mistake on the price. She said the price of the sofa went up. I told her she had to honor the price on my order which was not an estimate. She told me she would not; and told me to go elsewhere to buy the furniture. I'm surprised that a store like Kalin would keep someone like this to help their customers. There is one very caring and professional salesperson that we had the chance to speak to when she was not around and his name is Scott. We recommend him highly. Unfortunately, when I had the experience with the store manager, I decided I could not give my business to that store b/c I was afraid of ever having to deal with him again if there was a problem. read more

While I have never had a problem with Kalin & have purchased several pieces of furniture ~ I am not happy with my lastest rug purchase. It was from the Dalyn Rug Company Jewel J31 JW31 8B Job#18-0103. The rug is wool and constantly sheds, and small fibers are slowly coming out of the rug. I was told that this is normal for a wool rug. But this has been going on since July 2018. I wish the salesperson gave me a heads-up before I purchased this particular rug. read more

I have purchased several pieces of furniture through the years and always experienced good service and pleasant sales people. But had a very nasty experience with them recently. I custom ordered a Bassett loveseat and recliner both electric last summer and received in October. Since I did not have a place to plug in the recliner the salesman offered up a portable lithum battery to use. This was expensive at $200. The instructions and the salesman indicated that it should last about 2 months before needing a recharge. The charge only lasted 7-9 days. Kalin sent out a replacement battery and it still only lasted 7-9 days. I have spoken with several people in the Service dept. recently Mike Massey. They are not willing to compensate me for the hassle and Bassett's misrepresentation of the product. They would be willing to allow me to return the battery but I have to be able to power the chair even though I have to recharge it frequently so that is not an option. I have probably purchased my last product from Kalin Home Furnishings. Also be careful with Bassett's products. read more

I was looking for a very particular piece of furniture for my Florida room, it had to have certain dimensions because the space is rather small. I really like to buy second hand furniture and refinish/spray paint it myself to make it unique and my own. I could not find anything at my usual stores and I was on a time line (family is visiting). I stopped in Kalin before heading to Pier One and World Market because I was in the vacinty. After 2 days of searching I found a great piece for a really great price. The sales staff is friendly, but not overwhelming and the selection of furniture is beautiful. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is because most of their furniture is on the pricey side, but if the quality is good and it s built to last- it's worth it. read more

Had lots of recliners, supposedly on sale (not!). Sales staff was minimal. Advertised "Recliners on Sale only $199"....for a certain Friday (although that fact was left out of the ad). They ran out within one day! I tried several in the store and one staff member was exceptionally rude! He kept trying to steer me toward the more expensive ones. Because I kept looking at, and trying, the less expensive ones, he was giving me the "eye roll" behind my back! (Another customer told me). Every time I picked one, he tried to steer me away....telling me things like "oh, thats the only one, so you will have to order it and wait 6 weeks" or "this only comes in ONE color", and then the kicker, when I asked about financing..."oh, well, we only finance if you spend over $1,000! " Also, there is NO return policy!! I got up and walked out..saying I was never coming back. His response "good"..."what a waste of time"!!! read more

We just had a marvelous experience with Kalin Home Furnishings (Jennifer in particular). 3 years ago we purchased 2 Stressless leather chairs from Kalin. We purchased a warranty protection plan from Kalin with the "MONTAGE" company. Both chairs have developed a discoloration in the leather in the headrest area. I called Montage, in their warranty it clearly states that any stains or discolorations in leather was covered for 5 years. When I called Montage I was told that it "sounded like a manufacture's defect and since we did manufacture the furniture we will not cover the chairs". I was stunned by the way I was treated by "Montage". I called Kalin and explained the situation. Kalin immediately reimbursed me the cost of the insurance I had purchased from them 3 years ago (without me even asking) and then sent their own person out to repair the damaged chairs (and did a beautiful job) at not cost to me! Kalin a wonderful company who obviously cares very much about treating their customer correctly, even in extenuating circumstances. Kalin went above and beyond the call to keep a customer happy! I used the designer service at Kalin's & was extremely pleased with the way all the furnishings came together. Sharon offered suggestions for accent wall colors too which pulled everything together. I loved the quality & range of styles of the furniture & found every price range so I could be more economical on rooms used less often but could also use sales to furnish the gathering room which we will use all the time.
