He explained to the man that we were waiting outside and that the reservation was even confirmed. The man was not apologetic at all and insisted we come back at 530pm because that is when they open. We waited till about 515pm and at that point left as we had plans later that evening. Not once did they apologize for their actions or try to justify the experience except for at 527pm when they must have finally arrived and texted us to see if we were coming back and offered an apology. I have never seen such unprofessional service at a restaurant before. Not only did they physically text to confirm the reservation and not show up for it - but they also did not have any justification for their actions. Based on the reviews and the menu, my wife and I decided to try out Tribeca NYC after a morning of market shopping. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted and seated quickly in the back booth, near the kitchen window. The server brought us a menu and excused herself. Within two minutes, another server came to ask us about drinks. She chose green tea and I optioned for the Virgin Bloody Mary. The alcoholic version isn't served until 10am. After a few minutes of browsing the menu and deciding, our server took our order. I chose the Saint Bernard Eggs Benedict (Fried Chicken, Poached Eggs, Baby Spinach, and Hollandaise Sauce on Toasted Sourdough) and a side of breakfast potato and my wife chose JFK's Truffle Eggs (Eggs any style topped with Black Truffle and sauteed Mushrooms, served on Sourdough) and a side of bacon. It was basically a dollop on each egg which almost made it pointless and not worthy of being called an Eggs Benedict. The chicken was a very nice flavor but the crust fell apart as soon as I cut into it and went soggy very quickly. I'm unsure what causes the spice in the dish, the spices in the chicken batter or the secret relish but if you don't like spicy foods, choose something else. I love spice, so it was a very delicious flavor to me. Not hot, just a nice subtle spice hit. The dish is served with two large, thick pieces of Sourdough. It's, eh. One piece was enough for me. It could have used some butter. Warning, the breakfast potato is sweet potato home fries. It threw me off because I was not expecting sweet potato. Don't get me wrong, they were absolutely delicious and had a wonderful taste but I'm not big on sweet potato for breakfast and wish it would have been clear on the menu what I would be getting. I would definitely order some for lunch or dinner. Beware, the Bloody Mary is very spicy, with a back of the throat kick. My kind of drink, so I loved it. Wife's meal: Eggs were perfect, soft poached. She acknowledged that she loved every morsel. The only downside is that American bacon gets mentioned throughout the menu, so she ordered a side of bacon, with hopes of having American bacon, but that is definitely not what she received.
