A Five-Star Couples Experience at K'ALMA Spa - Miami Beach My daughter gave my husband and me a couples massage package for Christmas, and I was so excited when I finally decided to use our certificate on Friday, April 17, 2026. We had a 1:30 PM appointment at K'ALMA Spa, located inside the Viktor Hotel at 1144 Ocean Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139. Let me start by saying--I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this certificate! From the moment my husband and I arrived, the experience was wonderful. There is valet parking directly in front of the hotel, and we paid $50 for all-day parking, which was convenient because we were able to enjoy the area without worrying about moving our car. When we walked into the hotel, the young lady at the front desk was extremely nice, welcoming, and helpful. We were escorted to the spa's changing area, which was beautiful and had all the amenities you would expect in a comfortable home bathroom. We were provided with lockers where we could safely store our belongings and change into our spa attire. After changing, we were taken into the Tea Room, where our relaxing experience really began. We were then given a mini tour of the spa. K'ALMA Spa is located one level below the hotel's lobby entrance, and when you walk into the spa, you immediately notice how beautiful, spacious, peaceful, and inviting the atmosphere is. There are even tables where you can purchase products to take home, including spa lotions, exfoliators, candles, incense, and other relaxing goodies. Another lovely young lady gave us a tour of the different rooms, and I thought the attention to detail was amazing. Each room had its own purpose. There was a meditation room, as well as a peaceful reading room where guests can sit, relax, and read something inspirational. Then came the part we were really looking forward to--our couples massage! Our massage therapists were Mr. Nirioldis Turro, who was my therapist, and Ms. Arlettis Bautista Velazquez, who was my husband's therapist. Mr. Turro was absolutely wonderful. Before beginning, he asked me several important questions about the reason for my visit and what areas I wanted him to focus on. I really appreciated that because he wasn't simply giving me a standard massage--he was listening to what I needed. And let me tell you, he was AMAZING from head to toe! He focused on all of my sore areas, especially my shoulders, lower back, and neck. He worked on my muscles, incorporated stretching, and paid attention to the areas where I was experiencing tension. There was honestly nothing about the massage that I did not enjoy. I LOVED IT ALL! My husband had the same wonderful experience with Ms. Arlettis. She listened to the areas he wanted addressed and definitely went to work! By the end of the massage, he felt rejuvenated, relaxed, and completely at ease. The atmosphere made the experience even better. There was soft, peaceful music playing, along with beautiful water sounds that reminded us of water flowing down a mountain. At one point, Ms. Arlettis had my husband so relaxed that he actually started snoring! And you know a massage is GOOD when your husband falls asleep during it! After our massages, we discovered another wonderful surprise about the package my daughter gave us for Christmas. It wasn't just a massage--it came with additional rewards and benefits, including access to the Viktor Hotel's restaurants, pool, and bar. And the location couldn't be better! You are right on Ocean Drive, where there is always something happening. There are restaurants, entertainment, stores, boutiques, beautiful scenery, and so much more. You can easily make an entire day out of the experience. But let me get back to K'ALMA Spa, because this place deserves its own recognition. This was truly a FIVE-STAR SPA EXPERIENCE! From the welcoming staff, beautiful surroundings, relaxing atmosphere, thoughtful tour, comfortable facilities, and, most importantly, the exceptional massage therapists, my husband and I were extremely impressed. You fill out a form prior, specifying what you like and don't like as well as the pressure you prefer. After getting changed, we were given mimosas, and a small exercise to set our intentions, before being led hand in hand to the relaxation room where we waited for our services. The relaxation room was cozy, dimly lit, and had an assortment of teas and water for refreshments. It is a shared space but we got to enjoy it privately, and before we knew it our mimosas were refilled and we were on our way to our massage space. I love the holistic vibe of this spa. Before my massage, they had me walk down a hall that is lined with different gemstones representing the different chakras. I was asked to choose one, which would indicate what I needed to work on. Then, I was guided through a meditation to help me focus with the aid of a burning incense stick. My husband and I had booked a few night's stay at the Hotel Victor. One of the reasons we decided to pick that hotel was because of the K'Alma Spa located in the hotel. About 2 months in advanced, I booked a massage for each of us at 9am. We had gotten a confirmation email (which stated to arrive 15 minutes early to make sure we have time to change and enjoy the whole duration of our appointment), and were excited to have a relaxing morning planned during our stay. The morning of our appointments arrived, and we go down to the spa, and find another couple waiting, as the doors to the spa have not been unlocked yet. A few minutes later, 2 people come with a hotel staff to unlock the doors. They seemed to be a masseuse and the receptionist. The masseuse hurries off to set up, and the receptionist starts to check in the other couple who arrived first. Then he goes to look up my reservation, and says that he only sees an appointment for myself, not my husband. He looks frazzled, and asks if he can reschedule us. We told him no, because we already had plans and other appointments/reservations for the rest of our stay in Miami. About an hour later, the manager calls and apologizes, and asks us again if we can reschedule, offering 20% off plus a bottle of champagne. Although that was a nice attempt to make it right for us, it was clear that they had a major scheduling issue that morning. There was only one masseuse who was there at 9am, and they had 4 people (myself, my husband, and the other couple) scheduled for massages that morning. With a spa that has luxury prices, you would expect luxury service from the beginning. I was very disappointed that we did not get to experience all of the amazing amenities that their website advertises. Hopefully that are able to get their scheduling and staffing issues under control so that this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

Upon arriving I was immediately drawn into their relaxing decor. I loved the energy as soon as I walked in the door. Common areas were clean. The massage was good, wasn't the best, was probably slightly over-priced, a I didn't feel like my chakras were completely aligned after leaving... but it wasn't bad! Had a 90 minute K'alma journey massage and it was a fantastic experience all throughout. Started off by making the appointment 90 minutes in advance and they had availability. Arriving there, they guide you to the locker room. Once you robe up, they have you choose whichever stone you most connect with. Then you fill out whatever you feel your massage needs may be. From there they lead you to the relaxation room where you can have some tea or water while you wait for the massage therapist. The message therapist then guides from there into your massage room, where they cater specifically to whatever your massage needs may be. The massage itself was pure relaxation. Pressure was perfect and definitely allows me to de-stress. Steam room and fauna are currently closed due to Covid. Other than that, experience is fantastic. I swear it was close to 100 degrees outside as I biked across the island to Hotel Victor on Ocean Drive. I stumbled into the air-conditioned oasis, also know as the lobby, and hoped my dress wasn't dripping as I asked how to get to Spa V. I was directed to a private elevator that shuttles people specifically to and from the spa below. The lady at the front desk was cheerful and had a distinct island accent. She handed me a short form to fill out and once I was finished I traded it to her for a key to a locker in the women's locker room. The room was spacious yet ironically a bit maze-like. The lockers and stall doors were dark, paneled wood and everything else was white and beige. I changed into a white waffle robe and perfectly-sized black flip-flops and walked to the cool down room to wait for my masseuse. This is what spa dreams are made of. There were comfy black and white printed couches and chaise lounges topped with pillows. They were loosely divided into four corners by beige curtains that were tied back and modern bookcases covered in magazines albeit the room was too dim to be able to read them. I poured myself a plastic cup of ice water and settled into one of the plush chaises. A few minutes later, Ivonne introduced herself and led me to one of the private treatment rooms. I had reserved an 80 minute massage + reflexology session for $99 as part of the Miami Spa Month promotions. I started facedown on the plush table. She alternated some Swedish technique with some deep tissue to exorcise the muscle demons that have been inhabiting my shoulders for as long as I can remember. This may have been the best massage I've ever had. Every time she finished a muscle area, it fell into a peaceful sleep. And by the end of it, I smelled like a Christmas candle thanks to the warm cinnamon oil she was using. Then came the Reflexology, which is an alternative medicine that stimulates pressure points on the feet, hands, or ears with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. It felt kind of like I had been abducted by aliens that were probing my feet because they had never seen a human foot before, but in a good way. Once in a while she would hit a nerve and something somewhere else in my body would twitch or tingle. It really added to the overall massage experience. I reached Spa Nirvana when she finished up with a neck and scalp massage. Really? That was 80 minutes? It felt like time was standing still. My next stop was at the steam room. It is co-ed and clothing optional. Even though I was the only person there, I opted for one of the velcro-secured towel wraps. Inside it was like a big, warm blue tiled cave. The only thing I could hear was the hiss of the steam and water droplets dripping from the ceiling. I figured the steam had two benefits. 1) Rinse off the cinnamon oil and (2) Help expedite the muscle detox process that is stimulated by the massage. I inhaled the steam and sweat in several different positions before deciding to check out the pool. I had to go back up to the lobby and up the stairs to the second floor. The covered bar area resembled a colorful cabana and the pool was surrounded by lounge chairs with comfortable white cushions and some plush red couches dripping with pillows. I grabbed a spot partially in the shade, donned my yellow sun hat and opened up my book. To my left, I could see the beach and some cargo ships in the distance. An attendant came by once to ask if I needed anything. I declined. I could only finish one chapter before I was drenched in sweat and needed to take a dip in the pool. It was shallow and water continuously spilled over the edge and into a narrow moat around it. An "endless pool" I think they're called. There were a few other people in and around the pool that were not really there to relax so I didn't stay in long. I returned to my chair just long enough to dry off before heading back to the spa. Well, all good things must come to an end so three hours after the start of my Spa V journey, I was changing back into my dress and packing up my purse. I checked out at the front desk with my Amex and dreaded going back out into the oven waiting for me outside. [The closest thing I could find on their website was the 75 minute Relax Me Massage at $165 for 75 minutes. $165 + 25% gratuity = $217; $99 + $25 gratuity = $124; total savings = $93]. I'm pretty shocked this place doesn't have a lot of credit for the nice things they do have. I'm a guest at Hotel Victor and since I was in a 108 mile cycle run on Sunday I definitely needed a deep tissue massage. So today, on a Monday, I didn't call ahead I just showed up and was able to get an appointment with 1 hour, which wasn't too bad. The young girl at the front desk didn't seem to have a lot of experience under her belt. That was OK. She has a heart beat and a smile.That's good enough for me. Her boss seem to be with her so she cleared some promotional confusion. Once I got set up I made my way into the locker room. The locker room is small but most importantly it was clean. Only had 2 people utilizing them. I was tempted to steal a bathrobe, that's how nice they were. They had a lot of nice amenities, probably more then the actual hotel. Shocker. I waited in the cool down room until I was called. Once I was called in, my girl asked me what effective areas did she need to focus on. The room was simple and very plain. Nothing was visibly insight. I must say, I was expecting her to wrap me in sheets first, then uncover parts of the body that she was working on so I wouldn't be cold all the way Thur. This I have to agree stinks. I have to say, adding a 20% tip automatically to the bill is pretty annoying. Allow me to give the tip, besides I would also like for her to come out and be rewarded for her good service. Not just automatically get it and once she walks out the door its over. The spa is now called K'Alma and has this Peruvian crystal fake mysticism. The location: Spa V is located in the basement of the Hotel Victor on South Beach's Ocean Drive. Due to the basement locale- you mss out on any sensation of tropical beach-ness, which is a bummer. The staff: Spa V for vacuous? From the receptionist to the random therapist running around, no one really seemed to care of we were there or not. The Bathrobes: Pretty standard, but comfy and large. The lounge: Decorated in a modern beige black and teal motif, the lounge wasn't terribly large, but it was easy enough to seclude yourself into a tiny corner on a comfy couch. The only hint that Spa V was on the beach was found in the lounge with the shells and jellyfish pictures on the walls. The locker room: The teeny locker area got crowded super quick- and there were only 3 people there! The Sauna/Steam Room: We don't doubt the cleanliness of Spa V, frankly we have no reason to think there is any reason to feel dirty- unfortunately the dim yellow lights and beige and maroon tiled steam room, looked (and maybe kind of smelled) like a steamy NY subway station- and we briefly entertained a fleeting concern of "hmm... will this place give me a yeast infection?" The benches were all a bit too high and too narrow to ever get comfortable, so after a few minutes of squirming, we gave up and celled it a day. On a positive note, the ample rowels outside pf the steam room were huge. The treatments: We took 80 minute Cleopatra's body treatment- described as "A Full body exfoliation followed by a firming Mask for the chest and stomach to promote lifting and tightening. Slimming Mask applied to the thighs to target cellulite, fluid retention and uneven skin tone. Enjoy a refreshing shower followed by a lotion application of Coconut Milk and Honey to deeply hydrate. Treatment comes complete with a scalp and foot Massage" Now - we aren't modest Diva, but it would we weren't quite prepared to be covered with nothing more than a wash cloth sized towel over our nether regions, and we kind of wondered of we were being given a breast exam during the firming lotion application. While we lay wrapped in plastic waiting to be firmed and slimmed, we were treated to a lovely foot massage that almost put us to sleep. Did we leave feeling or looking firmer or slimmer? Not that we noticed. The yummies: Yummies? What yummies? There were a few pitchers of somewhat tepid water around, but that was it. Parking- Valet and validate with the spa. You are on Ocean Drive so if you're lucky you might be able to find some meters. Price: We were able to take advantage of the treatment thanks to the Miami Spa Month pricing, so at $99 it was a steal. My wife and I decided to try the groupon for the couples massage. This was our first time to Spa V. We arrived about 30-45 minutes early so we could relax in the steam room. The front desk person was very nice, as was the booking person over the phone. The lights were dim and she raised the lights without even being asked to help my wife see to fill in the guest form. The groupon was supposed to include two glasses of prosecco, but they were out of that, so the front desk person told us the manager was giving us an extra 15 minutes of massage, which was great... Perhaps because we arrived a little after 5PM, we had the steam room to ourselves. It was nice that the steam room was clothing optional, like in Europe, it is much for comfortable and hygienic. The only thing missing was a shower, you have to take a short walk back to the locker room if you want to take a cold shower, before returning to the steam room, but they are limited on space, and I can't see where they could install a shower where it wouldn't cause issues. The couples massage was excellent. I had Martina. I haven't had many massages, but I have to say this was the best massage I have had. She used a variety of techniques, some of which I was familiar with, others I wasn't, and the variety was nice, and they were all effective. The pressure was perfect, and highly effective, I felt very relaxed afterwards, and noticed walking that my hips were much more limber. My wife had Ramon and said he was very good as well, using different techniques. I would say my only wish would have been for more time, so I could have had more massage, to really get into the areas that needed more attention, and areas that there wasn't time for, or aren't a part of the normal routine (upper pecs, abdominals, etc.). I think 2 hours would have been good. Another reviewer mentioned there weren't sheets. We had heavy sheets that we crawled under when we first got into the room, and then we remained covered and draped the entire time, except for the area being worked on. It was all very conservative. I suppose this keeps the client's modesty secure, but at first I was too hot from being in the steam room to go right under a sheet. This reservation and execution of a massage was a disaster from start to finish. it started out by the reservationist reserving a massage for me that evening when I called early in the day. She neglected to tell me the massage was not in the Betsy hotel, even though it was their spa. So I went to the wrong address. The hotel gave me a different address for The spa. It was incorrect. I finally found it and was late. Then I looked at the reservation with pricing they wanted me to sign off on. It was then wrong massage and wrong price. I specifically asked for a massage that would cater to reflexology on the feet. The reservationist had assured me the therapist could . Focus on feet. Then I had to use bathroom. There was no toilet paper or slippers for the cold marble floor and it looked dirty. I finally had a massage and a guy was nice but he was not very seasoned. And he did not focus on my feet at all even though I told him to and so did the reservationist. And they accuse me of wanting to skip the bill when I started to pay and my card did not go through. It eventually did but not before they gave me attitude. I have worked in spas, and when something like this happens you at least give the person a 10% discount. I understand this was spa week and it might've been stressful for them but this was beyond ridiculous. For a massage that was $180 they could've done better a lot better. I should have known better then to purchase a couples massage via groupon deal. First off off you have to tip up front based off a percentage of a full priced massage, I typically like to tip based on my experience so they should really just call this a service fee. Second I've never been to a spa where you do not have a preference as to whether you'd like a male or female massage therapist. Third I get massages to relax, this was more like a work out with all the stretching and pulling on my joints it really just felt like a visit to a chiropractor not a relaxing massage at all. Spa V does offer a convenient location on Ocean Drive and the interior decor appears to have an Asian Indian influence with calming incense. I have visited the spa twice within the last 4 months, both times for a couples massage. In both instances my wife and I have been extremely satisfied. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and provide exceptional massages. I would definitely recommend. When visiting the spa you are also welcomed to the amenities at the hotel. I would encourage you bring your bathing suits and utilize the fantastic pool overlooking the south beach sand. The spa also has a steam room which they allow guest to enter before their massage. I would also suggest contacting the spa in advance as to a preference on a male or female masseuse if you have a preference. Lastly, I purchased a Groupon on the most recent visit, which was great and did incur an additional gratuity fee, that we gladly paid to the deserving staff. Hidden away on the ground floor of Hotel Victor is a quaint spa that is small in size but big on personality. I was having drinks upstairs a Sugar Factory a favorite restaurant that once had residency in Vegas but now has opened a location at The Hotel. I walked around and saw a sign for the spa so I decided let's take a chance and see what's in store. The receptionist was delightful she informed me a male masseuse was all that was available for the walk in and I begrudgingly accepted. A wild night of partying and a massage to recover I thought would be good. The masseuse Joey was probably one of the best massage therapists I've had. I initially requested a custom Swedish but he encouraged me to do a combination massage incorporating Thai techniques as well as Chakra and energy healing. Once he said that I was taken back to my healing massage in Phuket Thailand. The massage was top notch. I had an amazing experience. The spa was absolutely empty so I had the locker room all to myself. It was clean and tranquil. I bought my package on groupon and my masseuse was fantastic. I had a Groupon so decided to use it. The spa looks nice. It's clean and has a good atmosphere and nice ambiance. A couple things I didn't like... I was never asked whether I wanted a male or female massage therapist. I wrongly assumed that if I'm not asked for a preference then it must be a woman. I was wrong. My therapist was a man which might not bother some people but it made me feel very uncomfortable even though he was very nice and everything.... it made it hard for me to relax and enjoy my massage. I also didn't like the smell of the oil/lotion that was used. I'm very sensitive to smell and it made me nauseous during the massage... Also I knew I was gonna tip based on full price. They determined the full price to be $135 although they had specials at the spa for $99 (same service I was getting). I believed the 20% tip should be based on $99 since this is what they were charging their customer. And not $135 just because that's the price they have Groupon. A little fishy here. Picture they gave Groupon was of someone enjoying a massage in what looks like a garden outside in a very relaxing place. Their spa is in the basement so no outside garden lol. Very deceiving picture! So definitely not the worst massage experience of my life but not the best either... I'm not sure I would be back. read more

Wonderful service & experience that left both me and my husband completely relaxed. We came in the day before just to see what it looked like and the receptionist, Nicole gave us a tour which we really appreciated and made us look forward to our massage even more. There is a cool down room and a steam room you can sit in before your service. The massage therapist came in and introduced himself and the woman who was going to massage my husband. Marchello & Estella gave us both amazing massages. Marchello took all the knots out of my shoulders and was completely polite and professional. The atmosphere of the spa is so welcoming and relaxing with tea light candles, beautifully decorated and offers hot tea and water before and/or after your service. You are also allowed in the spa all day if you want to go to the beach and freshen up in their showers and store your things in the locker room. We used a Groupon making it very affordable and a 20% gratuity will be charged for the full amount of the massage which is understandable given that the employees work very hard to make your experience an amazing one. Nicole was very helpful as I heard her on the phone with several guests explaining the fine print so they know ahead of time. Excellent service... we will certainly be back the next time we are in Miami! read more
