Absolutely Not. Never Again. I told the esthetician before she started that my upper lip is super sensitive. She nodded and claimed she understood--then double waxed me anyway. When I questioned it, she confidently assured me that since she wasn't applying a "new layer" of wax, it would be fine. Spoiler: it was not fine. Now the skin above my lip is red, raised, inflamed, and painful. When I pointed it out, she was in complete denial and tried to brush it off like I was overreacting--even though it looked visibly irritated. I left the appointment more upset and anxious than when I walked in. This was incompetent, dismissive, and borderline dangerous. Save your money, your skin, and your peace of mind and go literally anywhere else. This place is TRASH. read more

Kind of rude, subpar service, but gets the job done. Could be more meticulous. Does a very Middle Eastern style brow and doesn't follow references well. Dismissive and somewhat inattentive. Pretty inconsistent results - sometimes sloppy sometimes cleaner. Have a feeling she profiles customers and allocates effort according to how polished you look that day / whether there are people in line after you. Haven't gotten anything threaded before, but had a friend suggest this business and I've been going here ever since! Kamala is great with booking appointments if you have a specific day/time you're looking for, but she's also accommodating to walk-ins as she does her job quick and well. I've gotten my eyebrows, upper lip, and chin threaded by her for a nice clean look. It hurts a little bit, but the pain is worthwhile to not have to shave for a while longer and a cleaner look instead of hair stumps left behind. Also very calm and gentle with telling you which part which needs a better look at or for you to hold onto as she threads. I felt a lot more pain than usual after getting my chin threaded. I even tipped generously until I came to the car and felt stinging pains continue. Very clean and convenient place located across from Trade Joe's. I found Kamala's based on Yelp reviews. My experience was very positive. There was only one person in front of me on a weekday around 4pm. I walked in because I didn't see a way to make an appointment online; this didn't seem like an issue at all. My eyebrows look way better than other places I've been where I've sometimes paid more than triple Kamala's price. She was very warm and gentle, and I can see why she has so many loyal customers! As a heads up, there's a 99 cent fee if you pay with your credit card (but there are signs about this around the store, so it shouldn't come as a surprise). read more

She is very inconsistent. Depending on her mood of the day I realised is how she does your brows. I specifically tell her to not take off a lot and go into detail to please do a very light clean up. She made on eyebrow so thin and it hurt so bad because she ripped off a big chunk. I was very upset when I seen my brows cause 1. they were so thin and one was soo thick. Once I complained about them she just apologised and didn't seem to care. I 100% don't recommend coming here if you want inconsistency. When I arrived, there was a person ahead of me. I didn't have to wait long at all. During my time to get my eyebrows threaded, I informed Kamala that I wanted "clean up, not too thin, and a bit of shaping". She proceed to threaded my brow. If you had your eyebrows threaded before, it's the same kind of "pain". I wouldn't say it hurt a lot more nor did it hurt a lot less. Came here on a Sunday and got Kamala's sister. Kind of rude and does not speak good English (I am Indian too and had trouble communicating with her). Eyebrow shape came out undesirable. I've been a regular at Kamala's and she does a fantastic job and provides excellent customer service. However, recently her sister took on manning the shop at certain times (Sunday morning for example) and both the quality of threading and customer service has deteriorated.
