That thick south, that soft bone ribs that melts in your mouth, that Noodle that is just right, they yoke that's is still runny... man... that was 2 things! Yum! And Calories! Was sooo good I can't help but to come back again! I had to take a star off because the beef was a little too salty that did not complement the noodle well, and it was quite pricey! All in all, you can't go wrong here and I STRONGLY recommend you try the thick soup instead!

I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen, a friend ordered the cha-shu ramen, and another ordered the miso tonkotsu ramen. After you order ramen they ask what kind of noodle you prefer, thin (standard) or thick (udon style.) Word of note, each bowl comes with two egg halves, so don't be a fatty and order an extra egg like I did...but you will probably want to order extra cha-shu, unless you only like 1 or 2 pieces of cha-shu. I ordered extra cha-shu ($2) and only had 3 pieces...I think they're skimping a little here. We also ordered a salmon roll and skinny avocado roll, and these were really good, especially the cut of salmon. Sushi is definitely good and reasonable here. Taking the first bite, the ramen was really good...but after a few bites it seemed to be missing something. I'm not sure what it was, but the flavour started to get bland, on top of not having many pieces of cha-shu to add more flavour to the ramen. Still better than Ryo's Noodle, but I don't think I'd venture out of the city to come here for ramen.

We ordered the small sashimi plate and 2 rolls. The sashimi came out first and was great! I loved the shredded radish that accompanied the fish. However when the rolls came out I took 1 bite of the spider roll which was tasty, when I went in for my second piece I noticed a long hair in the sauce. I was so disgusted and wanted to send it back but my boyfriend insisted I not make a fuss. So I sat there and ate the sashimi instead. When I thought I might try a piece of sushi from the non hair found roll, guess what, I found a hair just sitting on top of the rice( see posted pictures if you don't believe me) that was really all I could handle. 1 hair, ok I don't think its acceptable, but 2 hairs in 1 plate?! That's just asking for a health inspector. I had to say something at this point to our server who said he would talk to the chef. He ended up comping the sushi rolls which was nice but really I want the restaurant to take a little more care in the kitchen and pride in their food. A restaurant at least should have good food and meet the minimum health standards. I'm sorry but I just don't think I can come back.

I think the price and the choices were solid. I got the Tori-katsu(chicken katsu)shoyu ramen which is in a chicken soup/broth and thought it was pretty good. I kinda prefer this over Ippudo just cause of the choices and the cheaper price and the quantity. Not to mention, I actually liked the chicken soup/broth a lot. The chicken katsu were pretty good. I kinda wish I can have it on the side but usually ramen shops like this doesn't actually allow it. It's not a big issue but I just don't like my fried stuff drench and get soggy. With that said, I'll consider coming back as I thought it was inexpensive and tasty.

Then get ready for a porktacular bear-hug to your tongue in an embrace that you'll never want to end. I was quickly sat by a waitstaff and she told me to scan the QR code on the dining table. Everything had to be ordered and paid via the website. Cellphone signal was a bit choppy as the restaurant is on the lower ground level. There were two WiFi servers and needed clarification from another server which to sign on. Once I placed my order, my Gyoza was delivered within 5 minutes, few minutes later my Chicken Karaage Don was dropped second. Delicious and made fresh!! Other items on the menu I'd like to try later are ramen and side orders, Ipuddo & Wonderbao, Rice dishes including curry, and they also serve Beer and Sake! This would be a perfect spot for HH! For those who like to dine out with large groups, who may have friends or attendees who drink too much, or don't dish out their fair share of the meal, this is a perfect place as you order on your own as the restaurant doesn't accommodate separate checks and/or multiple credit cards from a large party.

BUT it was a dark rainy night and heading to Gogyo felt perfect. We did not have reservations so we sat at the kitchen counter and were able to watch the kitchen dole out incredible amounts of perfectly prepared food, like a well oiled machine. It was truly amazing to watch. The food? Amazing. We started with the ahi carpaccio, which was delicious. I could have slurped up the rest of the sauce with a straw. My husband and I both ordered the same ramen (kogashi shoyu with double toppings) and it was divine. The broth had so many dimensions of flavor, the noodles were fresh and chewy, the egg was perfect, and the meat was flavorful and not overly fatty. The only reason I won't be back before the end of our visit to Sydney is because there are so many other places I want to try.
