Just be careful. When we came, I didn't see OR SMELL any. That's a good sign I guess. Anyway, came here to do a CPR TRAINING COURSE. Spent about 2 hrs here. No one bothered and maybe seen 1 person with a dog. Perhaps this place has owners who actually picks up after themselves & their dog too. Park was clean & pleasant. You know how some parks can be?? It feels like it's dirty or dangerous. Nope! Not this park. Actually, MAYBE!! It's not a place I'd be at night tho. I didn't see too much lighting in the area. And it's in the back of homes and apartments on a side street. Not like it's on or on the side of a MAIN ROAD or anything. So, YEAH... I wouldn't say this place is TOTALLY COMPLETELY SAFE! NO! Just saying that it's a place where you can hang out with a bu ch of friends or family and not be bothered by the traffic in the roads or people coming out of the woodworks watching your event. Oh PARKING IS A B!+[#!! Because it's in a cup de sac road, and NO private parking lot, parking is limited. And the street parking is already taken by the people who lives in the area. So, if there's no parking INSIDE the CUL DE SAC, you'll have to find parking ON THE ROAD or park at the shopping center, and walk your butt down. It's not too far of a walk, but it is a distance. Quarter mile perhaps. Think I may try to hold a birthday party here. But, I don't know if we can pop up tents. Oh! And there's a playground for the kids too! A jungle gym! And YES... there is restrooms. But it looks kind of small. Smaller than MOST PARK RESTROOMS. I didn't check it out, so I don't know how much stalls there is. I'm guessing 2 stalls minimum. 2 toilets for girls & 1 urinal stall & 1 toilet for boys. If I do come back here... I'll repost with mire details. "Thanks for your time & "YIBIDIP, YIBIDIP... ( He's been very needy and jealous lately since my son was born a few months ago). After being here once, I want to make it a regular thing. It was so awesome to see our dog being able to socialize with other dogs and have so much fun. Thre park is fairly big, very well taken care of, and even has a doggy water fountain for our fur babies. The one annoying thing is the flies! But what really can be done about that? I know there is a fern that will keep flies away. Maybe if there was some we could plant around the doggy park, it might help? Especially around the benches where the humans sit to wait... All in all, a really great place for our fur babies, and I look forward to returning again and again.

For the most part, it's not open in the morning hours, but opens up around lunch time on weekdays and has fragmented afternoon and evening hours. They're only open on Saturday afternoons. New schedule should be coming out soon, so I may update this review. The chlorine is very mild to negligible at the Salt Lake Pool compared to an indoor pool on the Mainland, which made my hair sticky and changed my black shorts to green/gray due to the strong chlorine. I really appreciate the mild chlorine in this pool. Hopefully, it's not due to kids peeing (pardon my French) or the rain water, diluting the pool. However, it's great and I like it. There are storage lockers where you can lock up your personal belonging outside, or not. Also, men's and women's changing/restrooms. Parking is very ample and free. Also, this is a FREE POOL! No fees or dues. Can't beat that!

Nothing was set up and every one we asked didn't know where field 1 was. Many parents and even coaches were in limbo as where to park, unload and wait. The first game we came to watch was finally set up one minute before game time. The second game 2 hours later had a mixup on fields and no team to challenge. What a mess. The lowest field is actually where we were supposed to be although we checked the middle and highest tiers too. For little kiddies the restroom facilities is a long walk up to the second level. So very glad the rest of the games except one were back at our regular home park where all 3 fields are on the same level: ground. Might be a good place to jog or walk and not sure if dogs are allowed but could be a spacious area to play frisbee or teach your kiddo to throw a football or to practice driving.

Convenient for families there are three separate level fields. Great for practicing sports or just spending time flying kites or racing toy cars. They also offer Zumba classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Karate on Monday and Fridays too I believe. Ample parking along the side street on the way up and the bottom and top parking lots. They also just repainted the lines so it's easier to park. My kids all play soccer here on Saturdays and we come here to exercise or cardboard slide down the hills. Nice getaway in the heart of salt lake.

Plenty of parking nearby, and you'll need base access to get here. They have a big and little dog section, but no real amenities inside. As others have mentioned, the water fountains are damaged, it's mostly dirt, poop bag dispenser is usually empty, and the fence between the big and little dog park isn't very secure. However, it's a huge space on the big dog side with an unbeatable view and there are plenty of smells to keep your pup entertained. I generally try to go early morning or early evening since it's very hot and there is very little shade here. Overall, it does what it needs to do and is very convenient if you're already on Ford Island.

Ford Island Dog Park is located on Ford Island naval base, which requires a valid Military/DoD ID to enter. The park is conveniently situated across the street from the Navy Lodge, which is also dog-friendly. So pets from the base, the lodge, and off-base are all welcome to play here. The section for large dogs is very spacious and it overlooks Pearl Harbor - a super view with a nice ocean breeze! The adjacent section for small dogs unfortunately doesn't have the view, but provides enough space for the little ones to get some exercise. The large section has three park benches for humans and a fire hydrant in the middle for the fellas. Maintenance on the grass seems pretty regular. Coverage is pretty dense, but when it hasn't rained for a while, it can get pretty dry and crunchy. The waiting pen is fairly huge too, a good size for more than one dog and even a stroller. My fur baby uses this area to rev up her engine because she's been so ready for the races after being couped up in the house. This is also the only section with a tree, which provides a nice shady area. The downside is the grounds that surround the tree are barren, so it can get messy with the red dirt as soon as the dogs are released into the main park. As mentioned above, bring your own water. Apparently, one of the water pipes has/had a leak, so the fountains do not work. Trash bins are available, but no bags for the Pee Oh Oh Pee. As with any other dog park, friendly is not guaranteed. So, be prepared to pull your dog away when necessary.

Moanalua Gardens is such a lovely, central place on Oahu to come and enjoy a little rest and…read morerelaxation in nature. My husband and I have been coming here for years, and remember coming here when we first started dating. The price went up a little bit to a few bucks a person, but it's still worth the entrance fee. We came back here with our kids, who had never been, and they had so much fun playing in and around the huge trees, running around the big open spaces, and feeding the ducks in the duck pond. A picnic was a delight at a table, and we brought a blanket to sit on and eat snacks again a little later while we were walking around. The bathrooms are nice and renovated. Really appreciate that touch. Overall, a great place to come for a little communue with nature.

Moanalua Gardens is a nicely maintained wide open park with many large "Hitachi" monkeypod trees…read morespread out. Definitely more so a park than a garden. Been wanting to visit here for years as the last time was probably in elementary school for a field trip, and I forgot what exactly was here. It was closed during and after covid for years, then reopened to private functions only, and had no idea when it was reopened to the public. $10 for adults ($4 for Kama'aina and military) 7 for ages 6-12, under 6 (and Kama'aina and military) is free. Moanalua Gardens is conveniently located right next to the H-1 freeway. Heading westbound direction is very easy. Note: the parking entrance is literally right before the off ramp. Look for the "Moanalua Gardens" signs. Take the Tripler exit. Look for the entrance on the right. If you're on the off-ramp, you passed it. But that's okay! You can make a right (H-1 eastbound, you'll make a left at the Triper off-ramp), then left on Mahiole St, and turn in the next driveway. You'll drive through the service entrance to the parking lot. Plenty of parking! Pay at the entrance kiosk where they also sell snacks and drinks. Once inside, there's a moss/algae and leaf filled pond. There's koi fish, but the water is dark and murky, you can barely see their bright colors. King Kamehameha V's cottage that looks like a like a usual house. A Chinese style structure that looks like it has seen better days. Both are not accessible. As for the rest, the "Hitachi" monkeypod trees are all well maintained. Even though, there's PLENTY of monkeypod trees around the island, there's not many that's grown in this wide, umbrella shaped figure with branches close to the ground. Overall, it's cool to see the umbrella shaped Hitachi trees in a wide open, park-like space, but the other areas are not very well-maintained. There's not much else to do with some places restricted making it difficult to appreciate the history and importance. Charging $10 regular entrance fee, even the $4 Kama'aina fee, isn't worth it to just go in a what is basically a park. Isn't Hitachi paying atleast $400,000 per year to use the image of the tree in their advertising?

Don't park here for the Moanalua Valley Trail hike! Na Hele trail workers were letting everyone know that they should park on-street and not in the park's parking lot itself. You run the risk of being towed if you park in here for the hike.

Nice, well kept neighborhood park at the absolute end of Moanalua Valley Road. No baseball fields…read more No soccer fields. No basketball courts. Just a small playground with updated kids equipment on a soft asphalt foundation. There's one picnic table/bench and a sign directing people to a trail head. I was looking for another place to walk with Sofie and while this park is beautifully manicured it's not a place to walk whether human or animal. Dogs are allowed, I'm assuming for a short game of fetch on the grass or on the hiking trail. I saw no signs displayed telling you your dog must be on a leash. There are nice restroom facilities that are clean and not abused. The entire park is well maintained. No homeless sleeping in cars as we see in most parks, no piles of belongings that go with them. The parking lot is small with perhaps ten spaces. A remarkable and pleasant place to perhaps enjoy a lunch or family dinner with small kids.

This park is right next to a school so their parking lot plus another one with steps across the way are used or street parking is another option. If you lug a cart with your chairs, umbrella(s) and mini cooler of chilled bottled water and/or spam musubi, etc.it's more convenient to maneuver your haul by parking at the school. The good thing about this park is that only 2 games are going on simultaneously vs 3. Fortunately there is ample shade on both sides to keep the fans from overdose of UV rays or heat stroke. Our team's practice was after 11 a.m. so the kiddies were playing in the heat of the day. Amazing how they can run back and forth across the field in that temperature. Just so happened there was someone close by intermittently playing Jawaiian type music so that was cool. The field was not muddy or overgrown, just dry so that was appreciated plus close enough and easy to walk to. AUWE to the person from the team before who left their orangey peels on the ground without taking their OPALA away with them. Gotta remember to live aloha.
