Woodland Park Coop checks all the boxes. Kids are not just allowed, but facilitated in genuinely exploring and experimenting and just being kids together. The multi-age program enables younger and older kids to learn from each other in ways same-age groups just don't. The community fostered in this space feels like home. Families linger to spend time after class is over, we meet up on off-days, we potluck together, and we help each other in our homes. This is no ordinary preschool experience. This is our children's school, but it's also ours. We learn together and we create it. It is us and we are it. We partner with the Teachers and the Parent Educator, we each have a job to keep the school running. We take care of each other and of each others' children. This is a community of mutual-aid and genuine generosity. I'm so happy we still have 3 more years to go because there's a Kindergarten program, too!! You couldn't ask for a better, more engaged and aware kindergarten teacher than Teacher Quinn. And because we all overlap on the playground every day, the youngest kids get to see the oldest kids engaged in the deep conversations, the complex play, and the hard work that they do. Sometimes the preschool kids even get to join in the kindergarten fun. The only problem is where to go for first grade. But that's a 2029 problem.

Having gone through the day care search process and researched/ called / visited dozens of them in Seattle, I realized how difficult it was to find a pleasant & reliable care provider as a first-time parent, and I feel so grateful to have my child enrolled at CLCC, a gem in the U District that stands out among its peers. Here are a few highlights that come on top of my mind: 1. The teachers and staff express genuine affection and interest in the children. I can see my child feels very happy and safe around them. Even on her first day, my 15-month old quickly established connection with her teachers. And within a few weeks, she became very much attached to them and was even interacting cheerfully with the teachers from the elder classrooms. 2. Diverse activities throughout the day to engage the children in learning, singing, dancing, art, walking around the campus, reading books, etc and I love it that they encourage the kids to express themselves in different activities and social scenarios. They thoughtfully kept a collection of my toddler's "art work" over the past few month to bring home, which is cute and precious. 3. The children learn to practise a lot of basic life skills in their daily routine. From taking off jacket/shoes and placing them in the right place in the morning, to sitting properly for meals/snacks at table, cleaning up after meal, washing hands before/after meals, to taking out blanket for afternoon nap, etc. I was totally impressed when I watched a roomful of kids doing these all by themselves at a lunch visit. 4. Very accessible & responsive administration. Michelle, the director, was really fast at responding to enrolment inquiries and scheduling a tour for me(before finding CLCC, I contacted some other daycare centers that respond very slowly or sound impatient, and ask for a waiting list fee ). Fabulous job in efficiently maintaining the wait list and for replying to emails and answering the phone calls quickly. It really means a lot for parents that are anxious to nail down a good care. 5. Though it is a program of the UCUCC church, they are open to the entire community and not limited to church members, and, they don't impose religious content in the curriculum. As a non-religious person, I feel grateful to the UCUCC and the entire staff for running this excellent program and making it available to the entire community. School Year 2024/2025…read more Our journey with education has been a bit of a rollercoaster, but thankfully, we've found our perfect fit at The Bloom Academy! My son had an amazing preschool experience at a Montessori school, and was initially hopeful that kindergarten would continue on that trajectory. Unfortunately, after trying a private christian school for kindergarten, I realized it wasn't the right fit and had to pull him out after just 6 weeks. He then went into public school for kindergarten, which was a very disappointing experience. This fall, I started him in another private christian school for first grade, but after just 4 weeks, it was clear it wasn't working out either. I was feeling very lost until a friend recommended Bloom, and it truly felt like God was answering my prayers. From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew we'd found our school home. The smaller classroom sizes and strong sense of community at The Bloom Academy are exactly what my son needed. He thrives in a more intimate setting (hugs welcomed), where teachers can focus on his unique needs and guide his learning. The teaching style is exactly what we were looking for it's focused on fostering a love of learning, building character, and encouraging personal growth, not just pushing ahead academically. Unlike other private schools that seemed more concerned with being a year ahead academically, Bloom has helped me realize that the overall learning experience is what truly matters. What really stands out to me is the individualized education plan for each child. This is something I did not find in any other private school and has been such a relief for me as a parent. It's clear that the team at Bloom is dedicated to meeting my son where he is and supporting him in every way possible. My son and I are so grateful to have found Bloom Academy it's been a true blessing, and we couldn't be happier with the care, attention, and education my son is receiving. Our son attends both indoor and outdoor preschool here and the changes in him in the 5 months he's been at Bloom have been nothing short of profound. Miriam and Karen (who I believe are the owners and managers) are both such amazing and inspiring women who genuinely love children and want to see them flourish. Our daughter goes to a great private school in the area that has a reputable preschool program and we chose Bloom over them for several reasons. There hasn't been a day that goes by that we regret our decision, as a matter of fact I wish they taught older students so we could move our daughter here too! (Wishful thinking, I know.) We are particularly fond of 3 out of 4 of his teachers who have been so patient and positive in his life. His teachers are warm, loving, creative and encouraging. He's never enjoyed teachers the way he does here. The teachers have a joy here that I haven't seen in any other preschool/daycare setting. And lastly, the community of kids and parents that surround our son have been so wonderful and warm. People from all different walks of life with the common goals of the best environment for their little ones. Our family feels safe here, we also feel very loved. We are so thankful we chose Bloom!

We had a great experience at Neo Art School this summer…read more They were very prepared for Covid- making sure all kids had their own materials and any common materials were sanitized. Everyone wore masks. They had temperature checks upon arrival. The staff is professional and also warm. I felt my kids were well cared for and safe. They were well prepared to engage the kids- the girls had well organized, well thought out projects every day. Every week brought several different art projects and each week was unique in what was created; ranging from 3-D to painting to sculpture to drawing. My oldest daughter loves making art and literally happily worked on her projects all day. My younger daughter who hadn't expressed as much interest really found her creative voice and had a blast. The hours for working parents are great: 8 am - 6 pm. Strongly recommend this camp/program

Not only is the facility organized and clean, the teachers and staff are dependable and trustworthy. We trusted them with the safety of our children and their learning - academic and social. For our oldest son it was a tough transition from nannying to preschool/daycare so we braced ourselves for a rough week or two but our 2 year old daughter acclimated right away with no tears at all due to Amber's loving care. You could see the gift he has working with kids in that interaction. And 6 years later our daughter is in her last year of preschool there. Mr Jared and the energy he has for kids never changes day in and day out. He truly loves what he does. Ms Sara is another reason why our daughter loves going to preschool each day.
