I appreciate that the play structure is designed tall enough for parents to navigate as needed too, even on upper levels. There was also plenty of space for parents to hang out and watch. The party room was totally serviceable (we booked a 12-kid package with 7 kids and 12 adults, which meant some of the adults were standing (12 chairs), but it worked fine and it didn't feel crowded). I am glad we booked a larger party size than needed so some adults could sit! You are allowed in 30 minutes before your start time to decorate - and they leave blue painter's tape for you. I pre-staged one wall mural, two tablecloths, a banner, and some hanging decorations in a tub and that transformed the plain space quickly and perfectly for a kid's party. Food was better than I expected for a play zone cafeteria - pizza was included in the package, and we added a half-tray of chicken tenders (very popular), which came with fries, and a half-tray of fruit (which the kids loved and was fresh). Lemonade was tasty too. Had a whole pizza left over! The only outside food you can bring is a "celebratory dessert" - easy!! Our party host on the day of the party was sweet, accommodating, and low-key while also checking in the perfect amount. All other staff onsite were also welcoming and helpful. I can see how two hours could be tight for some folks, but they're very upfront about the expectations, and it was no big deal - I just kept an eye on the clock and moved things along. Booking was a little confusing on the website (a larger room size was incorrectly showing for the smaller party package), but their party coordinator got me fixed after I screwed up my reservation initially. Another parent mentioned it during an Easter egg hunt, and I figured we'd check it out so my kids could compare before deciding where to have their birthday party. We came in this morning, filled out the waiver, and the staff walked us through the pricing and membership options. Then, out of nowhere, they told us not to worry about paying for today (thanks Claire) --just grab the grip socks. That honestly caught me off guard. You don't really see that kind of approach much anymore. It felt like they were confident enough in what they offer to just let the experience speak for itself. My kids had a great time and ended up choosing this as their birthday spot. So while they let us try it out for free today, they probably just locked in a party that'll cost me over $1k. Customer service was great all around. Only small downside--it was a little cold inside.

I'm not sure of dogs are allowed, but there is so much grassy area to run around, have a picnic in, or toss a ball around. This place is kind of an introverted mom's dream park. And TBH, I am not a botanist. So, I can't tell you how many rhododendrons there are, but there are certainly a lot of flowers in bloom. My allergies know this.

Some of the cons is the parking is terrible; even when I was told by my family to come early to help set up & they have a few "reserved" spots up front, that can vary by the staff who aren't very kind about it even when it's discussed by the payor of the reservation & there is signage to park against the wall near an apartment building next door...or you have to park across the intersection about half a block near some other apartment complexes. So, basically the place is packed with large parties from morning to close so just keep in mind of this if you're planning to come out.

We brought down 2 totes that contained picnic items and towels for picnic on the beach and it was fine. I wouldn't say the trails were hard outside of the fact that it is on a hill. It would be tricky on folks who have issues with their knees or ankles though, and there are areas one could fall easily if you don't watch your step. There's a large play area that would entertain kiddos for several hours and several large fields! I was surprised they had public access to the seminary, which includes restaurants/bars and artwork. I loved the art pieces, they even have some George Tsutakawa pieces which was a nice treat! The bar downstairs has a beautiful corner seating area that has a nice mural painted on it, though I did not partake in drinking/eating. The library is also open to the public I believe 2-5p weekdays, but if you're staying here, it's open with your FOB. I had a very nice experience, it's a good way to spend a summer day. There are 2 areas for discover pass parking, but also a pay-to-park machine as well.
